Developing a strong lower body isn't complicated. In fact, the most effective lifts are the two most basic: the squat and the deadlift. The squat and deadlift are king when it comes to glute, hamstring, and quad building, and on top of that, they're also among the best lifts for promoting total-body strength, balance, and athleticism. -
💥 I'm not saying that the other movements are unnecessary, but they should not be given the same value, in terms of training time, as the deadlift and squat. Make sure your leg days revolve around these two fundamental lifts!!

Which is the healthiest kind of oat?
There are 4 types:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💚1.Steel Cut Oats. These are the least processed oats. Steel cut oats come from the oat kernel, and have simply been chopped into large pieces. Takes 20 mins to cook.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💚2.Rolled Oats. These are the second least processed oats. Basically, the whole oat grains are taken and steamed and then rolled out into flakes. Takes 10 mins to cook.

💚3.Quick Cooking Oats. Quick-cooking rolled oats are the same as regular rolled oats, except they have been steamed for longer, and tend to be in slightly smaller pieces. Takes 5 mins to cook.

❌4.Instant Oats. These are the most highly processed oats. Most of the fiber, minerals, and nutrients (that I wrote about in a previous post) have been removed during processing.

So which one should you eat?

Obviously the less processing something goes through, the more nutrients it has. I personally like quick rolled oats because they only take 5 minutes to cook and they’re still very nutrient dense.

DO NOT buy instant oats. The processing they go through removes the majority of the goodness (fiber and nutrients).

Avocado Shrimp Salsa

This Avocado Shrimp Salsa is the perfect appetizer using fresh and delicious ingredients. End result is bold flavors and one great salsa, ready in only 20 minutes! Great for parties, game day, or a fresh snack.
~
Shrimp
1 tbsp butter
1 lb shrimp large, shells removed and deveined
1/4 tsp salt or to taste
1/4 tsp pepper or to taste
2 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
Salsa
2 medium avocados peeled and chopped
1 cup tomatoes chopped
1 English cucumber chopped
1/3 cup red onion chopped
1/3 cup cilantro fresh, chopped
Dressing
1/3 cup orange juice freshly squeezed
2 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed
1 tsp garlic powder
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
Instructions
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook on both sides until the shrimp turns pink, should not take more than 2 minutes for the first side and 1 minute for the second side.
Remove the shrimp from the skillet and chop into small pieces. Add chopped shrimp to a large bowl.
To the same bowl add the tomatoes, cucumber, red onion and cilantro.
In another small bowl whisk together the dressing ingredients and pour over the salsa. Toss everything together well.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips.

Always one of my favorite comparisons. It's amazing what eating unhealthy and living unhealthy can do to age you. When I was in high school I was already wearing over a 3 x 4 x and could barely fit into any of the desk or chairs. High school was horrible for me. I had a few select friends but the majority of people that I came across day by were cruel heartless and truly seemed to just enjoy hurting me. At least that's how I felt back then. After going through everything that I've been through in my life not just with weight training but everything, I have learned that most people that are unhappy or miserable are miserable about themselves. They hate their lives and themselves so much that they want to ruin other people. I've learned to have empathy for those people as opposed to hate.🙌💓💯

So to anyone out there that has ever hurt me. To anyone out there that is called me to change part of myself. And to anyone out there no matter what side of the struggle you're on .....youre worth it....so FIGHT! Don't allow your situations to turn you into someone you're not. 😅My friends, there’s a lot to be said about sugarated drinks and fat loss. Can you drink one glass of coke every day and still lose fat? Sure you can. Is it advisable? Nah, I’d rather use those empty calories for something else. For real food.

👉You see, liquid calories add up quickly. INSANELY QUICKLY. You want one glass of coke? 150 calories. But heck, who only drinks one glass of coke? Oh there are 500 calories.

I say, if fat loss is your goal you’d better give up EVERY single liquid calorie other than protein shakes.

At the end of the day it’s always better to get in the habit of NEVER drinking any liquid calories anymore, other than protein of course. I legitimately think cutting out ALL liquid calories should be the first step when you’re trying to lose fat. Still consuming some liquid calories? CUT EM OUT!!!!!

Seriously though, it’s a waste of precious daily calories and you know you’d rather spend those calories wisely and eat some real food.

Marinate chicken with pink salt , pepper , garam masala , lemon , chilly powder , meat masala and then simply fry it in air fryer for 12 mins at 350f

Grind it smooth in a mixer.

For example, from a client standpoint (in my experience):⁣

▪️ I’ve been taught how to get results but with no regards to my overall health and/or my metabolism⁣
⁣
▪️ I’ve been sold things I didn’t need (supplements, equipment, etc) ⁣
⁣
▪️ I’ve been sold training programs and/or coaching after being reassured it was a “good fit” when it wasn’t (like when the trainer’s expertise and training style didn’t fit my goals AT ALL) ⁣
⁣
▪️ I’ve been told fake info that had no scientific basis or explanation, that the trainer just believed from other trainers and/or saw on the internet ⁣
⁣
▪️ I’ve had coaches MAKE STUFF UP to answer my questions on the spot (when they could’ve just done their due diligence, researched the right answer, and then gotten back to me)
⁣
⁣▪️ I’ve been sold personal training sessions, done one or two sessions, and then have had the trainer DISAPPEAR on me 🏃🏻💨 ⁣

⁣
So I’ve learned some things NOT TO DO as a coach from these bad experiences, some of the GOOD THINGS TO DO from the mission (and not commission) based trainers/coaches I’ve had, and WHAT TO LOOK FOR when considering hiring a personal trainer/coach. ⁣✨

While there are a lot of people in the industry that are here to make a quick buck, ⁣ I also know there are a GOOD AMOUNT of people actually trying to HELP OTHERS while making sure they stay up to date with real knowledge and information. ⁣👏🏼

There is no best protein powder! I have literally used all sorts of different brands. More than anything I’ve found some taste better than others. I personally use @truenutrition these days. Good price 💵, good taste 🤤, and customizable blends if that’s what you’re into.

I’ve also used @questnutrition, @gnclivewell brand, @optimumnutrition, and many others. It’s really your preference. Don’t get too hung up on brand. Focus more on hitting your bodyweight in grams per day as that’s WHEY more important (see what I did there?!?)

What does that mean?

For me, it means I no longer workout when I feel like I’ve eaten “too much.” I no longer workout when I look in the mirror and for a second think I want to be smaller. It means I will not workout because I dislike myself.

I will workout because I love my body, I love challenging myself, and seeing what I’m capable of. I workout because it makes me feel happier, it improves my mood, makes me feel confident, and gives me energy. I workout because I enjoy using my muscles and feeling strong. •
If you workout because you want to change how you look, that’s okay, but try to go into a workout from the perspective of love and respect for your body, not shame.

September is going to be our month.  Back to school is crazy for all of us, so I am working on a group for September that is going to be the best one yet...but spots are filling now.  Make sure you get your name on my list. 🙋‍♀️

🚨 VULNERABLE POST 🚨 
Literally posting this picture makes me want to 🤮 It’s no surprise my midsection is the part of my body that I’m most insecure about. I don’t wear bikinis, I’ve never worn a crop top & I most certainly don’t wear tight shirts. For as long as I could remember, I have always had insecurities about my midsection. 
The picture on the right was right before the 4th of July & my vacation. The picture on the left is me this morning. There are only a few pounds difference in these photos, but I see and feel bigger change than that. 
When we got back from vacation, I started a lifting/HIIT program, 30-37 mins workouts, 4 days a week with 3 active rest days in between. Some days I took the rest day & some days I didn’t. This program has let me listen to my body & help me decide what my body needed that day. 
I’m not 100 % confident in where I am, but I am 100% happy with where I am going. I am crushing my workouts, I am being mindful of my eating & I am always working on personal development. 
I’m ready to crush the second half of my program 💪🏻

💪🏼Showing you guys a little bit of what I do for my leg cardio day! 💪🏼I always start off with squats that superset into tire flips! I try to do that at least 6 times! 💪🏼Next, I do lunges for about 20 yards back and forth then immediately superset into a sled push! 💪🏼The last thing shown is burpees! I try to do at least 5 burpees than go immediately into a sprint!!!
