So this is the dinner I should’ve had last night, but couldn’t because my cooker went bang. It was obviously meant to be though, because my @seasonedpioneers spices arrived today and I got to use my garlic salt! 🙌
Some morning are quick weetbix mornings, some mornings I have some time to do a proper fun brekkie. .
After a lot of muscle aches & pains from driving too much recently, I needed an anti-inflammatory brekkie this morning. .
Anti-inflammatory Smoothie bowl recipe:
1) 1/4 frozen banana.
2) 1 tbsp of blueberries.
3) 1 tbsp of oats.
4) 1/2 cup of frozen spinach
5) 1/2 scoop of @awnprotein
6) 150ml of milk.
7) Toppings of your choice, ideally including chia seeds for omega-3 👍🏻

BULLETPROOF COFFEE VS BALANCED BREAKFAST
Bulletproof coffee is often consumed as an alternative to breakfast for those following a ketogenic diet or low carb, high fat diet.
Of course a bulletproof coffee is going to keep you feeling full, it is loaded with fat and fat takes a long time to digest!
Replacing a heathy, balanced breakfast with bulletproof coffee displaces a lot of important nutrients. Not much colour in that coffee ☕️ ⠀
If you enjoy WHOLE FOODS
Check out the balanced breakfast on the right. It provides fibre, protein and healthy fats oh and let’s not forget the ‘micronutrients’. It will likely keep you feeling fuller for longer thanks to the significantly larger volume. It also requires you to CHEW your food! Yay!
It is a pretty large breakfast, I personally wouldn’t be able to eat ALL the food shown on the right! It does however tick all the core food groups. ⠀
Also you don’t have to have a bulletproof coffee to be ‘low carb’ 🙄 you can still use whole foods if this is the eating pattern your are interested in.
MCT oil is actually used in a hospital setting 🏥 for patients who are unable to digest or absorb conventional fats.
Let’s stick to whole foods! Who’s going to argue with that? 🙂
- Bulletproof Coffee made using 2 tbsp MCT oil + 2 tbsp Butter (calories will vary depending on recipe used)
🔸2 regular eggs (fried in a non stick pan) with 1 cup spinach, 1/2 medium red capsicum + 3 medium mushrooms
🔸1 slice multigrain bread + 30g avocado
🔸150g Greek no fat yoghurt + 5 strawberries + 9 blueberries ⠀
Sleep will effects hormones that regulate your hunger!
A hormone called Leptin tells your brain you are satiated. And a hormone called Grehlin tells your body you are hungry.
Poor sleep blunts Leptin and raises Grehlin! The result, poor food choices and overconsumption of calories through the day.
We are the only species on the planet who will purposely resist sleep!
Getting 8 hours (for adults) will help you control your hunger.
With the holiday season fast approaching, there are more social events, Christmas parties, staff outings, and family get togethers. For the social butterflies, staying healthy through all of this can seem like an impossible task. But it's not - you just need to know how to manage it.
If you want to progress with your goals (losing weight especially), then pick your battles wisely. Think of it like a trade off. If you are ordering a heavy meal off a menu, then skip a snack that day and get an extra workout in. Or, eat before you head out to your function and have a drink instead of food. Otherwise, order with extreme caution! Skip the burger and fries, and try a healthy bowl, or a decorated salad with dressing on the side. Also check beforehand to see if the establishment offers the nutritional info or at least a calorie breakdown to help with your decision.
I had a meal from @stateandmain the other week as shown in the picture, and between the vibrant veggies, the missing carbs, and the sauce on the side, it was a clean choice. I also didn't have a snack later that night to avoid the extra calories.
Energy in minus energy out = a surplus or a deficit. So if you want to lose weight, you have to watch those total calories. Burn more off with exercise, and/or save more by watching what you eat. And as far as restaurants go, practice these tips to stay in line.

The minced beef has 175 calories per 100 gram and I ate 91 gram. 175 / 100 = 1,75 x 91 = 159,25 calories.
Fresh spinach has 23 calories per 100 gram and I ate 5 gram. 23 / 100 = 0,23 x 5 = 1,15 calories.
Cucumber 🥒 has 15 calories per 100 gram and I ate 26 gram. 15 / 100 = 0,15 x 26 = 3,9 calories.
Mushrooms 🍄 has 28 calories per 100 gram and I ate 37 gram. 28 / 100 = 0,28 x 37 = 10,36 calories.
Red bell pepper has 31 calories per 100 gram and I ate 14 gram. 31 / 100 = 0,31 x 14 = 4,34 calories.
A TOTAL OF 179 CALORIES.
