Throwback to junior year of high school when I first learned about the fitness industry in social media and bodybuilding... and thought it was ok to have role models ........ and had mapped out a weekly split that I would follow 6x week, training legs three x per week (targeting glutes all three days and the other days separately for hamstrings and quads LOLomg), and would wake up at 5 am in the morning to go to the y so I could still train for track in the afternoons as I was still struggling with binge eating. 🍃
This is tmi. 🤷♂️
After taking these photos, I remembered listening to John Mayer walking out of the bathroom and into the school library and being happy regardless of if I ran in college or not. 🍃
Anyways, this is just me venting ... but sometimes things don’t work out the way we always thought they would - especially if you had your heart set on it, and that’s ok. It doesn’t mean you’re giving up (something very hard to wrap my head around), and sometimes it’s OK to walk away if the negatives completely outweigh any rewards or benefits you reap ... or rep??? Yea??? 🤦♂️
But yea, sometimes we have our hearts so set on something - happening a certain way you pictured it, that when it doesn’t happen or your set perception of it suddenly sets out to be wrong, it feels like you’re losing a big chunk of who you thought you are or were. This is dramatic af, but idk people go through these things, and maybe this is for me but if it helps you, just know it’s ok to feel lost a bit. And know that if you give something up that seemed to be a part of who you were for a long time, it’s OK. Maybe it means you’re no longer you, but it doesn’t mean you’re not staying true to yourself?
