This sweet day-after pic from #zolabride @emilyvdw has us getting cutesy with a cash fund idea: a nice bottle of champagne to pop together as newlyweds! The best thing about Zola cash funds is you can personalize them to be anything. What fun funds are on your registry?

Excited to share the July wedding shower that my aunt Rita and I planned for my cousin Stephanie.
Auntie Rita and I started planning in late January. There were constant texts and phone calls across state lines and a lot of pushback on color schemes between the 2 of us 😂.
DIY: Luckily Auntie Rita and Uncle Danny had the skills and the time required to complete my daunting DIY requests. My favorite DIY piece was the photo backdrop. They were able to salvage old fence wood from my Grandma’s house to make the background and the small planters. Another favorite piece of mine was the Polaroid board. Although we had a professional photographer, I wanted to give the guests instant photo gratification during the event. I used a wide Fuji film camera throughout the party and then clipped them to the chicken wire. We also used the Polaroid film for the guestbook.
DECOR: We decided to go with potted centerpieces instead of traditional floral arrangements because of the July heat. The succulents and pots were handpicked months before the event and then assembled the week of the party. Auntie Rita made the colorful tablecloth runners and we rented the base tablecloths and chairs.
FOOD: What’s a party without food?!?! Food for any party is the most stressful part for me. It’s awful to be the host of the party and get stuck behind a stove. Luckily with the generous budget of my aunt and uncle (Stephanie’s parents) we were able to hire a catering company to make tacos and street dogs on location with all the fixins! It was the best investment and they were delicious! For dessert my Aunt Marina covered an 8ft table with tons of homemade goodies, some of which were gluten free.
We had a fun time planning the shower. Believe it or not, this was a great way for my aunt and I to bond ❤️. But let me tell you, we sure did need a drink to celebrate a successful party 🥂
