Carly and Levi wanted to get married surrounded by trees, in the forest near their home.
The spot they found was like something straight out of Fern Gully; except this time, the humans weren’t destructive bad guys, they were the sweetest people ever, who didn’t use amplified sound or music and they only took in Carly’s very simple bouquet which she and her sister, @kymrenayphoto made using native flowers and gum leaves.
Their 30 guests stood in a semi-circle in front of an enormous old tree, with Carly and Levi’s nephews and nieces seated on a blanket on the forest floor.
It was pretty special.
I’m so excited to see ceremony shots by the lovely Jess from @brownpaperparcel.
Huge love and best wishes to you @carlytiaphotography and Levi!
Your wedding day soundtrack should be Representative, Authentic & Dynamic. So it should be RAD. Rach + Bill’s sure was that. 🤙🏻✨🎶
The story of their #RADWeddingSoundtrack is on the blog now. ▫️

Chateau la Durantie is a beautiful location for your wedding in Dordogne. With its classical architecture and beautiful gardens, it is a perfect setting. I took Matthew and Vanessa’s wedding here on Saturday and am glad to have several others in the diary to look forward to.

How could you be nervous with this goofy mug next to you! 🤡
A big part of my role on the day is to keep everything and everyone feeling relaxed and as comfortable as possible.
I try to make a point of chatting with the groom and groomsmen before the arrival of the bride. Just to reassure him that he’s not up there, in front of everyone, alone. 🤵🏻 I’m consciously engaging and talking to the bride after her arrival, so that it feels like a conversation rather than a ceremony. 👰🏻 I try to do all this with a friendly smile on my face that says, “we’re in this thing together”. Even if I’ve got a few butterflies going on as well, a heartfelt smile seems to keep people from freaking TF out.
Plus when your job is helping couples get to the best damn party of their life, well it’s hard not to grin ear to ear! 😁
A lot of creatives are confused about marketing. Do you constantly hear all this advice - put yourself out there, find your why, tell your story, have a personal brand and so on and so forth? And you are just there, on your own, in front of the computer, probably in your ham pants (only me?!) thinking “Whaaaa...?”, and then you are told you should be using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linked In, blog regularly, post regularly on social media, make Google your best friend. It can be so overwhelming and I certainly did not have a marketing plan or any sort of strategy until about 2 years ago (6 years into my business!). I did a lot of things intuitively and some work, some didn’t, but I wish now I had a plan or a marketing for each year. It would’ve helped me get where I am today a lot quicker for sure! Marketing is complicated yet simple at the same time. As creatives we tend to overthink things. The most difficult part is doing the “groundwork” and building your foundation, setting your goals, then breaking them down into small manageable steps which can be achieved within a certain timeframe. Then figuring out 2/3, maybe 4 avenues and working them well :) #marketingtips#weddingsuppliers#alifeofintention
Hello and welcome to my online home! I’m Dasha and I just want to introduce myself here. I’ve been running a successful wedding photography business for 8 years, which I started in 2010 when I moved to London in the midst of the recession. My husband and I since moved to Ireland and changed the big smoke for lush Irish countryside where we now live with our 3 furry family members - cat Socks and two crazy collie pups. Almost 3 years ago I moved my business again and almost had to start again as I didn’t really know anyone. Fast forward couple of years I’m fully booked with mid to high-end weddings, work with the best couples and run a business which allows me to have a relaxed lifestyle, financial stability and have time to potter around in my garden growing & arranging flowers which is my other passion. After doing this for 8 years I thought it was time to give back and help other creative businesses who may be either struggling with the business side of things or just want to take their business to the next level. So, this will be an Instagram hub for all things business, branding, marketing etc., and my mentoring services which I’ll be sharing more about in the coming weeks! Stay tuned and thank you for following! ;) x #peoplescreative#creativebusiness
It’s amazing how much of your wedding ceremony can be uniquely written for your special day. The elements of the ceremony that are required by law could be performed in about 5 minutes, leaving plenty of time to devote to sharing your real and honest love story! Even the giving and receiving of rings is optional and can be replaced or complemented by a ritual of your choice! Everyone is different, and we all experience love in our own way. Let’s celebrate all love for its uniqueness and make sure your ceremony is as true to you as it can possible be! 💕
