The Spiral in Nature 🌀
The Ancients were well aware of nature’s repetitive patterns, or what we could call today self similar or fractal patterns. Spirals, such as the ones shown above, appear in all scales of nature as there is a universal web of energy moving through all things. 🌐
It’s peak harvest time! Inner and outer. This Equinox calls us to check in about what we’re HARVESTING! 🍁 Right now, where we live, the late Summer garden is rich with the last of the peppers, eggplants, beans, and more. And the orchards are practically dripping with ripe fruit! @dearestolive’s muscadine orchard is at peak harvest - just in time for this #autumnequinox . 🙌 We’re eating as many fresh as we can and preserving the rest in jams and jellies! What are you harvesting now, literally or metaphorically, that you want to preserve for the months to come?
Yes, you are a work of art. So let your life be the canvas you merge with.
“Dear friends, you are nothing less than a miracle. There may be times when you feel that you are worthless. But you are nothing less than a miracle. The fact that you are here - alive and capable of breathing in and out - is ample proof that you are a miracle. One string bean contains the whole cosmos in it: sunshine, rain, the whole Earth, time, space, and consciousness. You also contain the whole cosmos.” - Thich Nhat Hanh

♦THE WEB OF LIFE♦
~by Taino Ti .
"When the Universe was still so dark that not even shadows could be seen in the night, Grandmother Spider sat in her web in the Sky World, waiting and watching. No one knows how old Grandmother Spider is, or how long she sat waiting for the Universal Mind to awaken. But, every Creature Being who has ever lived knows her song and dance as the weaver of the Web of Life.
From her web, Grandmother Spider observed the first thoughts as the Universal Mind awakened from the dream. Seven energy beings floated out from the shining light in the center of the Universal Mind and solidified into bright, shining stars who went out to take their places in the Sky World. Grandmother Spider took a very deep breath and softly began to sing her weaving song while she danced across the Sky. As she spun her thread, Grandmother Spider envisioned the Web of Life. Within moments, she had woven her web connecting the seven stars and creating the Spirit Doorway through which all of the rest of life would enter.
The seven stars reflected the spectrum of all colors within their glow. Dancing with the colored light, shadows came into being as the darkness took form. More thoughts flowed from the Universal Mind, entered through the Doorway of the Seven Stars, and took their places in the Sky World. These became more stars, suns and planets. Then, many other thoughts entered the Universe, each one taking a specific place according to the universal dream of harmony.
Each thought was a spirit essence who dreamed an individual dream for manifesting life. Grandmother Spider spun her web around each new energy being and the Universal Web of Life shimmered in the reflection of Great Mystery's light.
Singing her song and weaving the Web of Life, Grandmother Spider continued with her work. The Sky World filled with light and life as her creative process unfolded. As the stars, suns and planets prepared to give birth to their children, Grandmother Spider spun her cord even longer, so that all of the newly born could be included in the Web of Life. .

Another activating encounter with a species of hummingbird moths. I found this species in one of the green houses , and decided to capture it so I could set it free outside the greenhouse. I think we bonded some as it didn't seem to want to leave my hand. It's Always transformative for me to interact with winged species, transcending personal turmoil or tarnished thoughts . #speciesdiversity#hummingbirdmoth#weboflife#herbandroots#magicalmoments
‘when i was the stream, when i was the forest, when i was still the field, when i was every hoof, foot, fin & wing, when i was the sky itself // no one ever asked me did i have a purpose, no one ever wondered was there anything i might need, for there was nothing i could not love // it was when i left all we once were that the agony began, the fear & questions came, and i wept, i wept. tears i had never known before // so i returned to the river, i returned to the mountains. i asked for their hand in marriage again, i begged—begged to wed every object & creature.’ Meister Eckhart circa 1300, #wheniwastheforest / Via daisy marquis / Image via @ma.medicina @vicselbach .
Instead of seeing matter as dead, or even as substance, to be used, controlled, and measured, let us take the radical stance that matter is sentient and connected at every level. Humans do not exist at the top of a meaningless hierarchy—rather, we occupy one strand in the complex and dynamic web of life.⠀
✨The Spider 🕷 and the web of life 🕸💕-The spider has no time to worry about what bug will or will not come into contact with its web. The spider has no means of asking a bug to become its meal in a favorable manner. The spider simply must focus on its ability to create its web however big or small it wishes to be. The web perfectly reflecting its work and communicating to the Universe that it is ready to be served. The spider must trust that it will be fed and simply use its patience. Through simple observation we gain insight into the inner workings of existence. We can not worry about who or what will come in or out of our lives. Simply focus on our ability to create something from our given tools and be patient that the Universe will deliver to us. We must remember to take correct action, build our web everyday, be patient and grateful for anything that comes our way because it was sent for a reason and we asked for it to be delivered, even if the blessing is in disguise at first 💕✨🙏🏽🕷🌻🕸🌳♥️ #spiders#weboflife#fractals#missionwork#patience#newearth#nature#observations#mothernature#528#sacredgeometry#beauty#eyeseeyou#soulwork#blooming
What does it mean when the moon is waxing? And what can it mean for us as a part of nature? What's YOUR experience with the waxing moon phases? Do you feel your energy rising as we move toward next week's full moon?
One of Holly's latest posts on the blog is all about the waxing moon... check it out on the blog!
“Teach your children what we have taught our children – that the Earth is our Mother. Whatever befalls the Earth befalls the sons and daughters of the Earth. If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves. The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites one family. Whatever befalls the Earth befalls the sons and daughters of the Earth. We did not weave the web of life; We are merely a strand in it. Whatever we do to the Web, we do to ourselves”. -Chief Seattle
“Everything in life is for your awakening.” Todd kept reminding us of this all weekend. As I strolled down to the dock for meditation this morning, I was drawn into the magic of dew kissed spiderwebs. They’re always there but the heavy, fog-filled air lit them up, made them more visible. I find this to be brilliant metaphor for the truth of life. That everything is connected, that threads of prana weave between us all and that every experience we live has the potential to capture our hearts and illuminate our consciousness. #nature#lessons#natureheals#inspiration#life#prana#karma#connection#yoga#yogainapiration#love#weboflife#spider#totem
"Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are a part of the mystery that we are trying to solve." Max Planck
