Hi guys! I’m still here. I’ve been working away in the kitchen but the lack of daylight hours and a busy schedule have made tough for taking photos. Case and point- my awesome friend @rileysheaglenn snapped a picture of these birthday cookies I made a few weeks ago. It’s been a busy month and my husband has been away on a short military leave. I am going to be offering a Christmas set but it will be different than my usual offerings- I’ll have more on that next week! Thank you friends and if you have shot any photos of cookies send them my way (I need help 😂).
The Western Development Museum @wdm.ca in Saskatoon offers a great variety of events throughout the year. During Christmas season, one of our favorite displays is offered at the WDM, the Eaton’s “Once Upon a Christmas” display. It'll be set up until Jan 15 2019.
For those of you too young to remember, Eaton’s was a department store across Canada. The original display was built in 1946 by aircraft technicians and WWII veterans for the Winnipeg Eaton’s store. These displays complimented the annual Santa Claus parade. Eventually the displays were put into storage in 1976, after which they were sold to the Eaton’s stores in Saskatoon, Regina and Thunder Bay. The Saskatoon Eaton’s eventually bought the displays from the Regina and Thunder Bay stores and put them on display in the Saskatoon store, then at Midtown Mall for several years. In 1987 Eaton’s offered the display to the WDM, where it has since resided.
