At the welcome party of the WCS all the teams gave small presents to each other! We went home with a lot of exotic snacks and super cute souvenirs 💕 I made this board with all the small thingies, so I wouldn't just store them away in a box.
This was my first time to be a Cosplayer.
This was my first time to participate parades and wcs.
And this was my first time to make costumes hard.
Almost I made by myself except shows and underwear.
I thought I will never use a sewing methane😂

During #wcs2018 we spend one of the days where we did not have a schedule on trying a #Japanese#photostudio :D
It was surely a different experience, but also super cool - they had different small sets spread out over two buildings with several floors. We found this set quite fitting for our #Adekan#costumes , as they are based on the #wonderland illustration! ^^
Thanx to Justine Védovato Photography for snapping this photo of my #Anri#cosplay <3 <3
"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return" ⠀
This was such a pivotal moment in our WCS performance⠀
As Greed I had rehearsed so often I could probably act out the full performance at a moments notice without many issues. However the Al costume change was not well rehearsed at all, in total I have only ever done it 6 times. For the qualifier it took 13 seconds to get in & I knew I could do better⠀
We designed a rig on the bar prop which shaved the time back to 10 seconds after a test but on the rehearsal day I flopped & it took 15 seconds to get out which was even worse than the qualifier. We only had 10 minutes to rehearse & talk about our skit so usually that means 1 shot. But we had 3 minutes left & I knew we had to go again. This time it took 7 seconds for a full armour costume change, unbelievable really that it was almost half the time of our qualifier. So with 1 failure & 1 win I left the venue feeling a weird mix of confidence & dread⠀
On the big day I felt like I did my best as Greed, lightyears ahead of our qualifier. But when it was time to get changed I felt the dread in my stomach. 'This is the hard part' I told myself. I got there, head in, left leg in, right leg in. Good job so far. Right arm in, left arm....stuck⠀
Every miscalculation I made was costing me, I took one deep breath before trying again & suddenly I was Alphonse Elric. Nomes gave me my helmet as Edward & what felt like an eternity had only been 9 seconds. This was a major improvement over what we had done the 1st time & we had people commenting on how quick the change was. Job well done, even if I knew I could (& had) done better⠀
Be it performing a skit or a squat you need practice. I should of made the time to rehearse the change as well as I rehearsed Greed. I thought the rig would solve all of the problems but in reality although the rig was a great idea practicing with the rig every day was an even better one. 7 seconds is great, 9 seconds is great. But 5 seconds without a heart attack would of been better⠀

Next week it’s @gamescom and I will be there Friday as Yotsuyu. Kinda wanted to come Saturday too to participate to the FF cosplay contest and see the beautiful dragon Symetra from @teamparaluna but there is no tickets available 😢. I will also go to the Eorzean symphony in Dortmund 😍 Friday evening. I can’t wait to meet Naoki Yoshida!
Who is going to Gamescom Friday? And who’s going to the Eorzean symphony?
