We bet you thought we were husband and wife already, but no, we just got engaged and couldn’t be happier 💙.
Everything felt right since the very beginning, and even though we’ve been together for little over 18 months, we feel like we’ve known each other since forever.
We know how lucky we are, because what we have is so rare and special. We definitely don’t take it for granted.
About wedding plans... you guessed it! We are not thinking of having a big wedding at all. We just can’t have both the wedding and make the world tour happen ASAP, but we are perfectly OK with that. We love each other SO MUCH and can’t wait to say yes to spend the rest of our lives going on adventures together ❤️. It really doesn’t matter where or in front of how many people we say it, as long as we make our vows our priority in life, we think we’ll be good 😇. Hey, and this world tour might just be the best honeymoon ever anyways, right!? 🙂

✨ folk have a habit of waiting until it’s too late.. it’s not YOU sis so don’t overthink it .. it’s the lack of appreciation they have for themselves and their capabilities that wouldn’t allow them to congratulate you .. they wouldn’t take the same kind of chances you take with yourself on themselves so how could they do so for you.. never take it personal it’s just #waysoftheworld#celebrateyou#selflove#yourwillingness#togrowisbeautiful
Ive tried so hard to move forward to the next level in my career even when im not ready for the next level. This song hit me right in the heart because my efforts havent always been for the right reasons. Alot of jealousy in my heart and pride makes me think im better than i actually am. Everything in this world is gonna rust and decay while we live eternally in onr of two places. I need to be content in Christ first and foremost so my pursuits will be done with a God centered focus instead of pursuing things that will burn. #waysoftheworld#envy#career#God#burn @nobigdyl
The ancient kingdom of Israel in Samaria brought judgment upon itself and were taken captive by Assyria. Why?
Because they chose to trust in other gods—idols of their own desire and making. They forsook the Lord their God and embraced the customs and ways of the culture and people around them. We—the church in America—have placed ourselves in a similar place. Repentance—turning back to God wholeheartedly—is the only option to avoid similar judgment. •
So, a few weeks ago we shared some facts about each one of us separately, so we thought it might be fun to share some things we enjoy doing together as a couple ❤️
We are crazy about each other and have so much fun together, so we try to do all kinds of things and experiences with each other. Hey, we are not going to be this in love forever right? At least that’s what people say 🙄
We sure hope they’re wrong!!
So... Ready? Here it goes. We love:
Playing tennis 🎾
Scooping pineapple 🥄🍍 (as photographed 😂. Check out our stories to see what we are talking about!)
Training at the gym 🏋🏻♀️💪🏻
Playing ping pong 🏓
Going on fun dates 💑

Now it’s your turn! Share something you like to do with someone important in your life 💗
On March 30th this little guy, our beloved Toto, passed away due to a heart failure 💔.
We are doing our best to move forward and adjust to our new life without him, but it’s been rough.
Even though it wasn’t part of our plan to take him with us on our trip, he seemed pretty healthy and we were counting on him living for at least 5 more years, so all of this happened out of nowhere and our hearts are completely broken 💔.
He lived for almost 13 years and he was so loved, spoiled and treated like our little baby.
He had a very unique personality and always made us laugh with his crazy behavior. He was grumpy with most people, but somehow managed to steal everyone’s heart ❤️. Saying that he was special is an understatement.
So, today, we just want to say thank you so so much for all your well wishes and all the love you sent our way 🖤.
We’ll be back to posting soon and are working on our first video so you get to know us a little better 😊.
A & G
Hey everyone, it’s Gordon, the other half of Ways of the World. It’s great to meet all of you, and I thought maybe you’d like to learn a bit more about who I am as you follow Aimara and me on our journey around the world 🌎.
So I was born and raised in Boca Raton, Florida and had spent most of my life in that area. My parents are both from Amsterdam, and I love my massive and crazy family that mostly still live in the Netherlands. I love to travel, so this new gig should come pretty naturally from that perspective, but I don’t love being in front of the camera, so there's that. But I’m excited to try new things and work on something that I don’t feel is a natural skill of mine – bear with me on this part.
I moved to Chicago 2 years ago for a new job following my MBA. While I was apprehensive about living up north, the decision turned out great considering I met Aimara here and now we have all these amazing plans for our future 💙.
In terms of things that I enjoy, here is a short list in no particular order: mangoes, palm trees, the ocean, rice & beans, Miami Heat, tennis, hammerheads, the gym, Cuban music, fish, and arepas (new fav food).
Random facts: my first language was Dutch, I’ve lived in Cuba, Guatemala (twice), and Costa Rica.
Also I’m trying to become a drone nerd so I can take amazing photos/videos and I’m dying to learn how to wind surf! Thank you all for following along from the very beginning and I hope to learn about you guys along the way, so feel free to share anything in the comments below 🙃
Hola! I’m Aimara and I’m 50% of @waysoftheworld_ 🌏.
Here are some very random facts about me 🙃
I was born and raised in Venezuela and moved to Chicago almost 4 years ago.
I have a personal blog/full time job called @waysofstyle and even though it doesn’t look like it, I’m the BIGGEST dork you’ll ever encounter 😝.
I love some animals like horses, pigs, elephants and dolphins and I’m terrified of some others like sharks and alligators (those last 2 ironically, are G’s favorite, but you’ll learn more about him next week in his own words).
I love tattoes. I’m a sucker for learning new things and I love to challenge myself. I once tried to live to please others and it didn’t go so well, so I decided to always follow my heart ever since ❤️.
I’m afraid of roller coasters (I’ve never ridden one 🙈) and big water slides 🤷🏻♀️. Scuba diving terrifies me, but I have to get certified for this trip, so wish me luck!
I love the beach, flowers and anything romantic. I love sunrises over sunsets, but I haven’t seen one in forever. I love giving and helping other people and I’m a BIG dreamer.
I want to live in such a way that I have no regrets when I get old and I believe we all have a unique purpose in this world ✌🏻.
I believe in God with all my heart and I’m trying to work on my faith right now 🙏🏻.
To be honest, I’m terrified about this trip. It’s pretty scary to sell everything you own and just leave you know? But at the same time I’m so excited to dive into the unknown and see what happens. I’m all about jumping and building my wings on the way down 🧚🏼♀️.
My advice to you? Always remember to follow whatever is in your heart. It is the true path to a happy life, it’s connected to your purpose and it will make you do all things with pure joy ☺️.
Now, it’s your turn! Share something about yourself in the comments below 👇🏻.
Love you all 💓. Thank you for following our journey!!! It means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted 💙.
This photo was taken last December in FL. It was the first decent photo we took with the drone and it felt SO GOOD! We were both so proud to achieve this together 💙.
We’ve had the drone for a little over 6 months, and only taken it out for a spin around 10 times. We only have a couple of decent photos, but we never knew it would be so hard to make a nice video. We still haven’t been able to 🙈. Hopefully, that will change this summer 🙌🏻.
It’s crazy how much you need to practice to actually be good at something. It’s easy to forget all the time and energy we need to spend to become good at the things we love.
When we see someone succesful, we just want to achieve the same thing overnight and forget all the effort, hours and sacrifice required for them to get where they are.
We are not even close to becoming good at any of this, but that won’t stop us. To be honest we just want to be able to share with you a story of each one of our trips. To sit down in front of a camera and share our experience as if we were sharing it with friends.
Neither of us are photographers, but we are working really hard at learning the basics so we are able to make our vision tangible in the most visually atractive way 💙. So please be patient.
What we can promise you is HEART. We will pour our heart out with absolutely everything we post in here and in Youtube, like we’ve been trying to do already.
Thank you for following along! For being a part of this journey that started a few months ago. Because believe it or not, there’s a lot that goes behind a trip around the world for 2 years 🌏.
