➿Co-Wash success again!➿
So I'm trying to figure out how my hair reacts to glycerin after @heytherecurlfriend mentioned my products had it in my last wash day. -She's no nice and answers my questions! There's so much to learn doing CG and it's nice to have this community for help!
I live in Phoenix, where it's always dry and if it's humid, it's raining. Glycerin may not be the ingredient for me because of this. I keep reading it's better for mid humid days and not either extreme. All my stylers have glycerin! Ack, what's a wavy to do? .
This morning I was in a rush, so I simplified my routine and tried to leave out all but two glycerin products. .
Co-washed with @asiamnaturally coconut co-wash, skipped a rinse out conditioner and went straight for my @curls blueberry bliss leave-in. This has glycerin, but it's further down in the ingredients and I don't have a leave-in w/o it! My AsIAm leave-in, it's the 2nd ingredient, so I may need to trade that one! Then I added just a little bit of @curls Creme Brulee (has glycerin as well). I combed it in this time instead of preserving my clumps. Then scrunch, scrunch, scrunch. Normally, I'd add my gel right after to soaking wet hair, but I'm finding I actually get a cast if I apply it after micro-plopping with praying hands and then don't touch it at all. I used Aussie Instant Freeze which is now my favorite product ever! I air-dried and never had to SOTC. It just got soft the more dry it got. 💁 Less volume today, but I'm in the minority and prefer less frizz to volume.
Even my assy side and wet curls are way less frizzy than normal! Swipe to see!
I'll be playing with and without glycerin to see what happens, but low glycerin today was a winner. .
What are your favorite products sans glycerin, especially leave-ins?
Surprise! No I didn’t get a perm- this is my natural texture. I haven’t scrunched and let my hair do it’s the for probably 5 or 6 years. I seriously don’t remember when the last time was that I intentionally let my hair do it’s thang.
Like, most people, I’ve always wanted what I don’t have- sleek, straight, tamed hair.
I think I’m at the point where I’m ready to embrace this mane and its lil curlies more often. ☺️
Thank you @heylaurenrene for this AWESOME tip! The Wave Artist by Bed Head is my new favorite hair tool! .
I was able to get beachy waves in less than 10 minutes and my stick straight had a ton of volume! .
Girls you MUST grab one of these! Amazon Prime for like $25 - it’s a total bargain and these waves are worth it!
People have been asking me about my wavy hair so here’s the secret. My hair is naturally wavy when it’s long. If I cut it, my hair will become straight. To really bring out the waves and highlights I use two products after washing it. First is Re-Coil by AG Hair Care which moisturizes, defines the curl and holds the waves without turning crunchy. It also holds up in this humidity we’ve been having. The second product is Keratin Smooth by TRESemme for extra shine and reduce frizz. Then I scrunch up my hair to create more waves and let it air dry. Takes 5 minutes at the most which is what I like.
