In cannot be said enough how important it is to be adequately hydrated throughout the day
We are pretty much made of water. In fact 75% of total bodyweight is water. Water is the major component of your organs, tissues and fluids
What does water do for us🤔 ✔️Forms saliva to aid digestion ✔️Helps deliver oxygen to the whole body ✔️Helps to convert food components needed for survival ✔️Regulates body temperature via sweating ✔️Acts as a shock absorber for the brain and spinal cord ✔️Needed by the brain to manufacture hormones and neurotransmitters ✔️Lubricates joints ✔️Flushes out bodily waste ✔️Keeps mucosal membranes moist ✔️Allows body's cells to grow, reproduce and survive
So it does a lot. This is why it is so important to stay well hydrated. When the weather is hot, you sweat more, making it important to replace those lost fluids. However this doesn’t mean that as we enter autumn and winter you should stop drinking
Being properly hydrated has many other positive benefits such as better skin, healthier kidneys and improved cognitive performance. The later is multi faceted as if dehydrated you may lose visual vigilance, feel anxious, fatigued, have negative mood and poor short term memory
Finally and something that is vitally important for those that train, is that being properly hydrated can improve physical performance when training or playing sports
So don't forget to drink. I always advise clients who struggle to initially buy a 1.5 litre bottle and make sure it's gone by the end of the day. They then progress to 2 litres when 1.5 isn't enough for them. You could also potentially add a slice of lemon or lime to your water to add some flavour, or even add a little squash.

Water conservation is now a regular practice and it needs to be consistent to make a significant impact. People, companies and governments must make it a point to reduce water wastage in order to positively impact the environment!
Rainwater harvesting is one of the most common methods to save water. It is effective yet simple! Obtainable from having a well maintained rain catchment system, the harvested rainwater has multiple purposes, that can be used for either domestic and agricultural uses.
By conserving water, this reduces the greenhouse effect and reduces radiation. It will also benefit the environmental ecosystem and preserve our natural habitat.
Approximately 50 to 70% of our body mass is made up of water, including skin, tissues, cells and the organs. Water is essential to maintain the optimum skin moisture and deliver essential nutrients to the skin cells. It replenishes the skin tissue and increases its elasticity. This helps delay the appearance of signs of ageing like wrinkles and fine lines. Drink up!
