I started using the #2bmindset with @sketchandbalance in May to help lose the last 10lbs from my last pregnancy! I lost it very quickly without working out! Then in July @dunlap.bryan and I started #liift4 and completed an 8 week program! Eating well is a form of self-respect.
Health is not a size or how you look. It’s how you feel in your body and eating well isn’t about perfection. Some days you are going to eat too much. Some days you are going to eat too little. And some@days you are going to have a piece of cake because the occasion calls for it. And that’s OK! .

First we LIFT. Then we HIIT. 4 days on, 3 days off thus LIIFT4 😉🙌🏽 Today was shoulder intervals and it’s probably my favorite day. Focused shoulder moves between spikes of HIIT is my favorite way to work because it leaves me full of endorphins and feeling amazing after only 30 minutes. Watch out for those swimmers and skater jumps though. They’ll sneak up on you 😩😂😂
If you're like me and have a hard time drinking enough water, I suggest buying a 20 ounce water bottle with a straw. I know that I only need five bottles throughout the day to drink 100 oz, and drinking it through a straw makes it MUCH EASIER, + faster. We need AT LEAST 1/2 of our body weight in ounces each day. (ex. 160 lbs/80oz of water) 💦
It suppresses your appetite.

If you haven’t viewed my Instagram stories yet, I discussed how I’m taking full responsibility for my continued weight gain. I’ve been sounding like one giant broken record lately but it’s my biggest roadblock as to why I’m not consistently back on track and losing weight. Now most of my 45 pound gain stemmed from the demoralization and stress of job hunting as well as the day-to-day routine of my old job (which for the record, I do miss a lot). The reasons why the number on the scale are getting higher again are a bit contradictory. I’ve been having a lot of social events that consist of food and alcohol (which is always fine by me!) but I’ve also been triggered by loneliness and FOMO because I’ve been having difficulty finding friends and acquaintances to hang out with. (Throw in trying to unsuccessfully get back into the dating scene and having feelings for a guy who doesn’t seem to like me back despite mixed signals.) One situation doesn’t really tend to do more nutritional damage than the other but the emotional eating is something that’s got to change! I understand that why I’m having difficulty finding friends to hang out with, especially on a local, last-minute level, is because people’s life circumstances are changing but mine isn’t. I’m also stuck between a rock and a hard place: when I want to do something social - should I just go and do it alone - or exhaust my friends list and contact everyone - and risk gaining weight because the food and or alcohol? Or do I just stay home and avoid it all so I can save calories in hopes to lose weight? If you know my story, you know I did the latter last year and it backfired. I know I’m going to focus on myself so that in 2019 I can achieve my money, health, and love goals. For those who have been in my shoes or similar situation, feel free to share about it. I don’t want to deprive myself from living life again but also want to “cure” myself of emotional eating. I also wish I was as badass as, “The Icebox” is.

"Veggies Most" is the theme of the day, because I've got goals! ...also, I was hangry. 😬 Heehee! My day was 80% meetings before it even started, and then new ones came up to fill in the blanks. I couldn't catch a break until 2:15 to eat my lunch. 😱 I ate 1/2 a banana as my FFC, and threw a quick chef salad into a bowl...spring mix, cut up veggies, 4 slices lean uncured ham, 1 slice light cheddar, and 1T lite ranch dressing stretched out with some lime juice...but I wanted more. I WANTED everything in the fridge, but I settled on 2.5T of @traderjoes Artichoke Jalepeno Dip, and a pile of sliced bell peppers & baby carrot dippers. I was full, completely satisfied, and very proud of myself. Normally, I would have been non-stop stress eating, grazing all day, or grabbing anything fast, regardless of consequences. Put some extra protein on my plate this morning. I have to head to the dentist with my girls, and I will be getting a late lunch. This protein will help me feel full until my next meal. Which will probably just be a shakeO since dinner will be right around the corner. Here's how #2bmindset makes it all come together. Would I ever have eaten veggies for breakfast before? 🤔 Sure, maybe in an omelette, but not otherwise. NOW, however, I wonder every morning, "How can I fit in some bonus veggies?" I blend KALE into my #shakeology , People...KALE!!! 😳 This morning, I opened a @eatwholly #guacamole mini pack, and spread it on my whole wheat English muffin. There was extra, so I put it on my plate, and looked for veggies to dip into it. Since @ilanamuhlsteinrd has trained my brain to keep them prepped on-hand, I had presliced cucumbers in the fridge.🥒 No fuss, no overthinking, just grab and go, 5 minute breakfast....BUT look at all that goodness sneaking in! Whole grains, lean protein 🥚, fiber, healthy fats 🥑, veggies! That's using the 2B Mindset, and it just becomes second nature over time.
YOU GUYS!!! How is this me?? 😱😱 I sat here staring at the picture trying to reconcile the change that’s happened over the last 5 months and while this might be the same shirt, I am NOT the same person. I am confident. I am strong. And for the first time in my adult life I FINALLY am at peace with food. The scale isn’t scary. Food groups aren’t demonized. And I am reaching my goals while living a HAPPY, fulfilling life! Who knew that was even possible?! I’m not perfect but no one expects me to be. I’m all for confidence, a healthy self esteem and taking care of the body you’ve been blessed with, but the message that is big right now is that you can find what you need to gain confidence and feel better about yourself comes from you. I believe that my strength comes from my Father and it is when I look to Him only, that my cup is filled!
Even though it can be hard for me to take a break, I’ve learned rest days are just as important as my full out high intensity heavy lifting workouts. Taking the time to stretch and let my body recover so I can attack the next day with everything I got 👊🏽

My hubby has changed his mindset about food and this is where it has gotten him! I could not be more proud of his success!! __ 💥
This is the first time he has lost this much weight, kept it off, and never felt like he has been on a “diet” or starving the whole time.

I conquered another fear today and went to a yoga class at my local gym! It wasn't nearly as scary as I thought, even when the teacher gently corrected my form 😊 something else I've been wanting to try is a spin class but I've NEVER done anything like that so it will be totally new. Class is at 9:15 tomorrow... Should I do it?!
I started my journey I set myself specific & timed goals - to lose 15 kilos & fit in size 10 (UK) clothes by 23.02.2018 - my birthday (start date was: 2.01.2018) I’m ambitious like that! •••
It’s what you do - no?! when you start your weight loss journey ! That’s what I’ve been always told. You set a goal weight & eat to a meal plan - count calories or points or syncs, or weigh each morse you put in your mouth! I know the drill - I’ve tried them all - all the FADs, all the diet programmes and all the meal replacements. •••
I would lose a kilo - gain 2 kilos over the weight - be miserable - and give up!! Failure after failure ! Year after year! Month after month! I would end up so disappointed & feeling like a failure that I would start doubting my worth. Sadly, I’ve always measured my worth by how I looked & presented myself! Beating myself for not fitting in that size 10 dress - for my cellulite - for my muffin top! Sad ☹️ but that’s how my brain was wired. •••
What’s different this time? Everything - I’ve come to understand that losing weight is not about a dress size or the abs - I’m not judged by my size! Importantly, I’m not on a diet - I don’t weigh or count calories - I am on a HEALTH & FITNESS JOURNEY... yes, I’m still working on losing some more kilos but not because I want to fit in a size 10 dress by Christmas BUT because I want to be healthy & strong! I work my CORE not for the abs BUT for a healthy & strong lower back #nomorebackpain •••
So REALLY what is so different this time ?
1. My mindset is set on “positive” results.
2. I have a sustainable routine which allows me to still lose weight, get leaner & live and enjoy my life every single day - treats included.
3. A community of peers who support & keep me motivated, focused and remind me that how I look does not measure of my worth. •••
