🙋🏼♀️Looking for advice on fasting! Long post and explanation ahead... Backstory: I’ve been doing lazy Keto since November of last year. I’ve gone down 4 sizes in clothes but the scale hasn’t moved from February to now. 😫I have recognized MANY benefits of Keto - stable blood sugar, no longer get hangry and feel great overall. But I also have MANY health challenges I’ve been working to overcome, including a full hysterectomy in 2013. I’m on HRT with SottoPelle pellets with @theskinstudios, thyroid medication, allergy medication, medication to help with the loss of my daughter and a handful of vitamins. Within the last month, I’ve joined #orangetheorylakecharles 🍊 and go every 3rd day. My plan is to move towards every other day and using gentle exercise to close the rings on my Apple Watch the other days with gentle exercise. I’ve started drinking a gallon of water 💦 per day the last 2 weeks and feel benefits from that. FOOD PLAN: I’m going to do a low carb shake in the mornings maybe with coffee, drink water throughout the day, maybe bone broth at lunch if needed and then a meal in the evenings - to ease into a modified one meal a day plan. GOALS: weight loss, improved fasting sugar (was 99 at my last appointment) and continue to improve my cholesterol. I’m listening to the Complete a Guide to Fasting right now. 🙋🏼♀️HELP: But this is where I need advice. What are your experiences? Do this for a month and then go into a 3 day fast? How did you go into longer fasting? What worked? What didn’t? Did you change it up? How often? Favorite apps? Other resources? #keto#fasting#intermittentfasting#omad#waterfasting
I have spent this last week on a mission to heal my body, inside and out! I’ve been intermittent fasting 18/6 for three days in conjunction with hot yoga. Had a session of cupping to stimulate my lymph system and blood flow. And today, I am embarking on a 3 day water fast. Not gonna lie... I’m a little nervous! However, I am passionate about my mission. I am overall a very healthy vegan, WFPB, organic, non-gmo eater but looking to kick it up a notch. When I go to the NIH on the 28th, I want them to tell me my stomach is the prettiest healthiest stomach they have ever seen 🤗😊😁 #waterfasting#cleanse#cupping#savemystomach#behealthy#stayingmotivated#veganforlife#beetingenespolly#fgeneticmutations
3 days without food and water!! Plus 3-4 days with water only.
Doing a Fasting Camp with my friends 😊
Feeling a bit weak but also very light, sharp and alive. Also, having very interesting ideas and feelings 😇
Did you know that fasting is the best medicine and a way to prevent diseases?
Hey guys! So i know it’s been a bit but, I turned 21 this week and well this past few days haven’t been about fitness, they’ve been about drinking and trying to get rid of a hangover. But now that the celebrating is over, IM SO READY to hit the gym and lose why I’ve gained these past few days from drinking before I go back to school :)
I woke up ans weighted my self i weighed in at 182lbs, 2lbs lighter then yesterday
Ive been awake for around 3 hours now and haven't gotten hungry or had any cravings, i had been doing intermittent fasting for awhile now with out realizing it so my hunger levels are generally low overall. I work a 6 hour shift tonight at work ill update when i get done to see how my energy levels where or if i had much fatigue or weakness.
What does mindset have to do with fasting? Everything! To be successful on your fasting journey you need to develop a fasting mindset, especially when you are in a fasted state. Sometimes it’s difficult to stay on course. Sometimes you want to give up because you feel IF is to difficult. You feel you are depriving yourself. You feel peer pressure to quit. You feel you are not seeing any progress. Don’t give into your feelings. Don’t throw in the towel. Don’t give up. When you are having negative thoughts don’t give in to them. Think about why you started your fasting journey, then think about all the benefits of fasting. Next think about people you have read about or may even know that have obtained great results from fasting. Think about the FACT that patience is a virtue, this will take time. Finally think about what your end result will be.
I was going to post this later, but it’s 2:47 am where I’m at and I’m up so..I’m just going to post it now. At the end of January I was put on a medication that made me insanely hungry. Like I have never felt a hunger like this. It would also make me intensely crave really bad food for me. Every time I tried to fast or eat healthier or less I just couldn’t keep it up. On top of that, it made me drowsy and sluggish and working out was so hard for me. My mental health suffered because of this and I remember just begging my body to be happy about working out. Every time I worked out it just made me extremely sad and hopeless. Well, I have been off of this medication for two weeks and I am like 75% better, if not more. I have been eating under 1500 calories a day, eating mostly fresh foods, AND the thought of eating fast food makes me want to puke. I have worked out three days in a row now and I’m feeling great. I am starting to love life again and I’m seriously ready to get back to losing weight. I’m sorry I’ve been gone. Thank you to my followers who didn’t unfollow me 🖤 I am very happy to be back.

Noticed some people are concerned about what Ma doing (water fasting)... I really do appreciate becasuse they care.
Just to clerify things, no one is punishing me to do this and in the matter of facts I enjoy not eating. Guys... I have not started serious water fasting yet, all am doing is just playing around. But its my desire to go 40 days without food, not just for weight loss but for many health reasons... Its my crappy health that is making me do this and I like how it makes me feel. .
Have been obese all my life, so just imagine how much time I had to research other diets out there and also water fast... Have been on this for a long time... I didn't rush into this, I have my reasons. .
Just to name few major reasons for me doing water fasts: 💧 I love the adventure 💧 It balances hormones (really need this) 💧 A good way to get control of food addictions and helping to start a healthy lifestyle 💧 Gives zero to minimal loose skin... I am not too rich for skin removal surgery. 💧 Best way to detox the body 💧 It's good for lowering Blood Sugar even reversing T2 diabetes
I NEED THIS .
NB: Do not do this without doctors' consultation or supervision.
It’s not everyday you get to interview your mentor!
We were lucky enough to sit down and speak to @tylertolmantt and learn anything and everything about fasting and health. And let me tell you, we learnt a lot!! 🤯🤯
And the good news is we got it all on camera so you will have the chance to learn it all as well! 😁😁
As of today August 17 i am starting a 14 day water fast. I have previously done a 3 and a half day water fast and loved the benifits. I am at an unhealthy weight of 184lbs for my 5'8 body and need to get off some weight. My waist measure is 34 inches, the widest part of my mid section is 38 inches and my thighs are 26 inches. I am uncomfortable, un confident and unhealthy. Time for that to change. ( i have spoken to my doctor and the concerns are low so i am fine to do this fast) #waterfasting#waterfastingforweightloss#weightlossjourney#joinme
Day 4!!! 10 more to go🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 down almost 3lbs, feeling a little bloated. I had a headache yesterday, today is much better. I haven’t eaten my fruit or veggie for today yet I think I’m going to do one of each for dinner tonight and just split the portion between the 2 since I haven’t had fruit at all. I’m a little irritable but not as much as I was on Day 3. My energy level is completely gone!! I’m EXHAUSTED 💤 😴 🛏 I can say that. I’m on my 3rd jug of water today and I’m using the bathroom like a racehorse 🐎😂 other than that I’m feeling good!! I’ll check back in tomorrow with an update. ✌🏾 #waterfasting#weightlossjourney#beforeandafter#selfdiscipline#symptoms#detoxing#bodycleanse#detoxmenow#diet#healthy
// FASTING //
Fasting is the willing abstinence or reduction from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time.
An absolute fast or dry fasting is normally defined as abstinence from all food and liquid for a defined period, usually 24 hours, or a number of days. I’m going to do a 5 day #waterfast starting next Monday.
Water fasting refers to abstinence from all food and drink except water, but some like to also consume bone broth as well. Other fasts may be partially restrictive, limiting only particular foods or substances, or be intermittent.
In a physiological context, fasting may refer to the metabolic status of a person who has not eaten overnight, or to the metabolic state achieved after complete digestion and absorption of a meal.
Several metabolic adjustments occur during fasting. Some diagnostic tests are used to determine a fasting state. For example, a person is assumed to be fasting once 8–12 hours have elapsed since the last meal. Metabolic changes of the fasting state begin after absorption of a meal (typically 3–5 hours after eating).
If anyone wants to join in the fun, let me know! 😂

I used to think this. That I would lose muscle mass if I fasted. Why? Because that was the mis-information that was passed on as “fact”. But once I started to learn more. The truth revealed itself. During a water only fast our bodies go into “survival/repair” mode. Our bodies take the info given... “There is no food coming in...” and goes to work. Distilled water is alkaline and a must because it acts as the lubricant and cleanser of all of our internal organs. This goes for muscle as well. The body will not cannibalize muscle, as we have been perfectly designed for survival. It only gets rid of the dead or under performing muscle. This goes for all of our organs, tissues and tendons. A cleansing and rejuvenation. Fasting is the best medicine. Don’t believe me!?!.... research for yourself. Namaste 🙏🏽 Alfred
Organising my #fasting and #fitness plans for the end of the month. Just to stay #accountable . I’m a great believer in the more data you collect the less guessing that goes into any outcome. I think tracking is especially important when you’re making changes. If you can add a journal alongside it even better! I’m planning for my next fast to end on Tuesday as it’s Eid and will be going out for dinner with friends and family🤗🤗
- I will also share any aesthetic changes that have been made at the end of the month. I haven’t done as yet, as I don’t want the other benefits of fasting to go unnoticed. 😊😊
Today is definitely hard to remember why i started, I'm 83 hours into my 30 day water fast.
I see so many people who say how great they are feeling, no hunger, lots of energy. Well let me tell you, that's definatelly not me. Yesterday (day 3) i was hungry all day, my head was killing me and the taste of water was a turn off.
I pushed through, i know the headache is a sign of detox, and i know my body has more than enough to eat off of my fat reserves, but no part of yesterday was easy.
My longest fast to date is 21 days, looking back now how did i do it?
Today is day 4, I've been up since just before 5am. I had a horrible nights sleep, my back hurts, my head hurts, my skin hurts. The only thing that's keeping me going is that my body is detoxing now and food isn't going to help it. Sure it will make me feel better, temporarily, but whatever is going on needs to go on lol i just wish it was a lot faster so i can move on with my day.
The struggle is real, but nobody said it would be easy. It will definatly be worth it!
// I still haven’t decided on a name for this piece. Any ideas? My fibro has been really bad over the last few days and it’s really getting me down. I’ve started water-fasting to help my body heal and an added perk of some weight loss wouldn’t be bad! I’m determined to get through this flare up as positively as possible which is difficult at the best of times //
As a lot of you know I enjoy and try to lead a simple life. I prefer experiences over material things any day. I’m not worried about having the newest gadgets, lots of clothes, expensive jewellery. But over the years I would say the thing I have found hardest to let go of is food or anything related to health. Buying the newest superfoods, spending a fortune on trips to whole foods or buying cook books/ebooks etc. Although some of it has definitely helped increase my passion for health, fitness and wellness, in hindsight lots of it has also side tracked me from my path of simplicity: Just eating foods in their natural state, when I’m actually hungry, mindfully. I honestly feel like fasting has just added to this minimalist style life. It’s also freeing. To know you can go a whole day without food and not worry, stress or panic about it, is so refreshing. I had a little refeed yesterday with my beautiful girl over dinner. It was so enjoyable and special. Back fasting today and every time it gets easier. I’ve been training full body all week with no weakness. Honestly this journey I’m on in so eye opening. So grateful right now. @theminimalists @snake_diet_wizard @a.healthy.alternative
