Let the hate begin! Yes, it's an Invicta ... but hold on a minute.
So let's get something straight right off the bat, I'm no watch snob. I've got £10 pieces I like the look of through to luxury Swiss numbers and the same applies in all areas of my life from Primark to Prada :D So when I saw mention of a legit bronze automatic for £69 I didn't care who made it, I was going to get it and have some fun in the process. I’ve read the hate online about Invicta and for good reason in places. They BS everyone with fake MSRP prices and the majority of their offerings are massively oversized, garish and would make Arnie’s wrist look limp sporting their timepieces, but, they do have some honest to goodness decent releases at incredibly low prices - this being one of them.
So what do you get for your £69, well starting with the heart you’ve got a genuine Seiko NH35 movement which has both hacking and hand winding, quickset date and over the past 8 hours since it arrived and I set it as per time.is it’s not lost or gained a second (yet) so accuracy is damn good as per most NH35s. The dial has a leather effect look to it and matches the strap colour wise featuring applies indices and what looks to be applied logo and automatic wording but it could just be phenomenally well layered gold paint. The hands suit the dial and are highly readable with massive amounts of lume which also works quite well though not Seiko / Rolex levels of output. It’s got a domed crystal that I'm under no illusions is anything other than mineral glass but its solid to the finger tap and has a lot of anti reflective coating underneath. The bezel lines up! That's about all you need to know there, Im looking at you Seiko, and the strap is what you would expect at this price point being genuine leather but with an awesome bronze buckle.
