“Mayor Jeannette A. McCarthy and the Waltham Celebration Committee invite you to the Waltham Common for the City’s Annual Holiday Lighting. This year’s event will be held on Friday, November 23rd.
At 5:30pm, the Waltham American Legion Band Brass Quartet will play. At 6:00pm, the Waltham High School Show Choirs 🎶 will get everyone in the holiday spirit with performing some holiday classics!
After the Waltham Common is lit up, there will be a special appearance by Santa 🎅🏾
Parents make sure to bring your cameras to take your child’s photo on Santa’s lap in City Hall after the holiday season is kicked off on the Common.
Santa’s mailbox (Provided by the Waltham Women’s Club) will also be set up on the Common for children to leave their letters 💌 to Santa during the holiday season. Deadline to submit letters is Sunday, December 16th, to ensure a response from Santa before Christmas. (Be sure to leave a return address on each child’s letter)."

I had an awesome race at Fenway Spartan Sprint this past weekend managed to run 🏃 by one minute faster 😮 than last year. Standing next to the Boston Red Sox World Series Trophy 🏆 was the icing on the cake 🎂 😁. As we wrap up the year 2018 I’m closing out mine out with a bang💥. Beginning of 2018 I set out to complete my second trifecta with the Spartan Race 2018 and I hit my goal 🥅 😁, and now it’s time to plan my new goal for the year of 2019, so I’m starting my new year resolution early getting a head start (why wait 🤷♂️?). Some will say you tend to slowdown with every year you get older, I say you become stronger, faster, and smarter 😊😉😝.

It’s quite before the storm ☔️ and I’m not just talking about the rain 🌧 coming in tonight into tomorrow! But tomorrow there will be thousands of people flocking into the home of the World Series Champions Boston Red Sox @ Fenway Stadium 🏟 for a Spartan Race.
It’s always important to nourish yourself before the big race and I’m not talking about the day before the race or the day of the race lol 😝, but more like the week of the race you always want to stay hydrate, eat good food, and get plenty of rest, and of course stay loose.
Keeping yourself calm is the one thing you should consider before any race. Take yoga classes or just spend plenty of time stretching all your muscles 💪. Good luck 🍀 👍 to all my fellow Spartan who will be running 🏃♀️ 🏃 the race tomorrow see you guys out there. Aroo! Aroo! Aroo!

Motivation can only take you so far but dedication will take you all the way!
I hear this a lot when people say to me I need a workout buddy to come and workout 🏋️♂️ with me at the gym. There’s nothing wrong with that saying, but if you do depend on that person how long do you think that would last? I bet not long before you know it things will change and then your schedule won’t match up with your friend, and then what do you do? Will you skip your workout 🏋️♂️? The bigger question is what will motivate you to be dedicated to your fitness goal? At what point do you make it into a habit to workout 🏋️♂️ and stay healthy? What are your milestones? What will it take for you to start taking better care of yourself? What stops you now from being active 🏃and not tomorrow?

There’s no wealth 💵 if you don’t have your health ❤️. Taking care of yourself must be your first number one priority! We have real difficulty providing self care when we have lots of different things going on in our lives, we tend to care for others more with passion and dedication either is work, kids, family, but when it come down to us some how we put our care last down the list. Making time for yourself is a must! You need to have your own balance of wellbeing.
Stop ✋ saying “I SHOULD” and start saying “I MUST!” Get out there and go for nice walk during lunchtime, do something, move your body!
Lots of people will use the word “I should go for a walk at lunch”, “I should go for a run 🏃♀️”, “I should go workout 🏋️♂️”. Remember no matter how hard you work 😓 there’s always gonna be more work 😟. If you sit at your desk for too long you’ll miss out on all of the beautiful colors of fall and before you know it, you’ll be hibernating in doors all winter.
Congrats 🎉 🎉🍾🍾🏆🏆 to the Red Sox 2018 world champs!!! Can’t wait till November 10th to run Spartan Stadium 🏟 race at Fenway Park! This year is gonna have a special feeling running 🏃 throughout the champions stadium from the green monster to the dougout and through the Red Sox locker room, and on to the field for the finish line!!! Important things to remember when the day comes for your next race either it’s a 5k, a marathon or anything in between stay away from these bad advices. We all want to preform our best on the race days but what you read on internet and health magazines might not always be best fit for you.
1. Don’t wear band new shoes on the race day. To avoid blisters and chafing, you might wanna try to stretch out your new shoes 👟 first so they feel comfortable on your race day.
2. If you run 🏃 a lot it doesn’t matter what you eat. Eating junk food 🥘 won’t help your body preform at its best, and can even lead to injuries.
3. To be a great runner 🏃 you need to keep up with the latest trends. Taking up Crossfit classes and doing the Paleo diet to help you with the run might sound like a good idea 💡, but be careful no to get too caught up in fads. Everyone is on deferent schedule so do what works best for you!
4. Limit food 🥘 and water 💦 before racing to avoid bathroom 🚽 breaks. To preform your best you need to be well fueled and hydrated, nothing more and nothing less.
5. You don’t need special running 🏃 shoes 👟. You really do need special running shoes 👟 for the races and for your training.
