So, over the past few months I’ve had SO MANY people comment on how long my hair has gotten (truth)! It’s also gotten thicker, more body, and is just all around better than it has been over the past 10-ish years.
[Reminder for anyone who doesn’t remember/know : 3 kids ages 16,13,7 + breastfeeding each on average for 2 years + being 43 = major depletion this year. Something had to give.]
Thought I’d share a few of my “secrets!” Guess what! NOT ONE OF THEM HAS TO DO WITH HAIR PRODUCTS. But literally everything to do with a committed focus on nutrition and gut health. 🎯 SWIPE ⬅️
1️⃣ : I dropped the “mommy-wine-habit-slash-culture” for good as of Jan 2018. WOMEN. MOMS. Why are we sabotaging ourselves? If you want to talk about this let me know. DUDE: long long long family history here. I know it’s hard. And “fun” and makes everything “better”. I’m 💯 convinced the opposite is true. More to say on this, so if you want to talk DM me. Haven’t quite formulated a coherent public share per say except to say I have dropped a DECADES old habit. Any notion that it’s healthy are another way that we can try to explain away something that literally dims our shine (I DID THIS. it’s a thing. and especially in the “wellness world”!). Not willing to toy with it anymore. Also read @thetemper with me!
2️⃣: FAT FAT FAT and dropped the processed junk and sugar. (Also most dairy but that’s unique to me coz of some other stuff going on). Morning ritual of #rocketfuellatte gives me LIFE. Add ons are the coconut oil, cocoa butter, collagen plus cinnamon OMG. Check out @healthfulpursuit for more!

LO QUE SEA QUE PREDICAS, PONLO EN PRÁCTICA
Podríamos pensar que las personas cambian cuando se les convence con 200 papers en mano, de que una u otra recomendación está avalada por la evidencia científica. .
Podríamos pensar que si Cochrane lo dice, la gente lo hace.
Podríamos pensar que la gente cambia porque le aconsejan cambiar. .
Pero NO. .
Las personas cambiamos nuestra conducta cuando tenemos motivos para ello. Motivos de peso. A veces la vida te pone delante esos motivos. Otras veces pareces nacer con ellos en la mochila. En ocasiones te los inventas para dar sentido a la existencia. Y otras veces, las menos, te traspasan esos motivos. .
Algo de lo que me he dado cuenta en los últimos años es que la coherencia en pensamiento, acción y palabra determina, en buena medida, el resultado y efecto que una determinada recomendación lanzada sobre una persona, tiene sobre otra. .
La gente necesita ver el cambio, no sólo escuchar sobre el cambio. Necesita pruebas. Pruebas vivientes a ser posible. Necesita verlo. Tocarlo. Creerlo. .
TENER MOTIVOS. .
Si queremos promover cambios en la población que más lo necesita, necesitamos ser nosotros ese cambio. .
¿Qué haces cuando nadie te ve? Si cuando nadie te ve tus acciones, pensamientos y palabras están alineadas: ENHORABUENA. Hay coherencia en tus actos. .
Y eso significa que la gente te tomará en serio. Lo que haces tendrá un significado. Tendrá valor para los demás. Hará reflexionar. Impulsará conductas. .
Tendrá una influencia. .
Si quieres "influir" en los demás, se coherente. La vida es dura, imprevisible y a veces, cruel. Pero si nos contradecimos en nuestro día a día dando recomendaciones que no cumplimos, que ni siquiera tenemos pensamiento de cumplir, vamos por el camino correcto. .
Si quieres cambiar el mundo, comienza por el tuyo.

Last week I ran into a friend who was on his way to work. He quickly warned me that I shouldn’t come close to him since he felt like he was getting sick: sore throat, blurry vision—full package. “Are you sure it’s a good idea to go to work?“ I asked. “I’m REALLY motivated, you know,“ he replied. “Yeah, I do know the feeling,” I said with a huge bulk of suspicion as to whether that part matters when you’re driving and can’t say how many cars are in front of you or why the cars are resembling trees all of a sudden.
Apparently my poker face has room for improvement because my friend added: “The look in your eyes is giving me a reality check though.” “Let me write you a permission slip to go home in case you need one,” I said, “writing” in the air with my fingers. “Thanks,” he answered relieved, theatrically accepting my offering, and headed back home.
Actually, it hadn’t been that long since another friend I’d run into had sent my own over-motivated and under-energized ass home. In a culture that worships productivity, rest has somehow become a revolutionary act. Especially when we truly love our jobs, it can be even harder to let ourselves take a break. Yet, rest is such an integral part of every endeavour. I love David Whyte‘s take on this: „To rest is not self indulgent, to rest is to prepare to give the best of ourselves…We withdraw not to disappear, but to find another ground from which to see; a solid ground from which to step, and from which to speak again, in a different way, a clear, rested, embodied voice…Rested, we are ready for the world but not held hostage by it, rested we care again for the right things and the right people in the right way.“ Have a restful Sunday, my friends. And Monday, and Tuesday, or the rest of the year (pun intended 😉), if that‘s what you need. Your work will still be there when you come back with new perspectives. And I‘m gonna try to walk the talk too. .

TAAG - Right from the day I've been able to identify what I'm driven for in life, I have been navigating with this zeal passionately and triumphantly.
I tried my best to make impacts wherever I found myself as much as I can.
Few months ago, I have been in dilemma on whether or not to start this project. But lately, the passion and uniqueness that drives me keenly caught me to no other option than to have this gold burnt in fire.
Apparently, I said to myself, "if you keep waiting for the right time, the right time will never come until to make it right." Going with this, I have decided to unveil this project tagged: #taagspeaksdallas to the glory of God and service to humanity. Derrick Payne told me, "time is your advantage: it will fade away if you do something or nothing"
Many thanks to couple of friends that have volunteered to #walkthetalk with me. Together we achieve more. We'll be starting this project by the end of November, 2018. Watch out for the extraordinary. .

No matter what you might be going through tonight know that you are strong enough to get through it. No matter what it takes, just hold on to the rails, the walls, whatever is keeping you standing. The air quality in the Bay Area is beyond horrid. I've choked on it countless times these past days cause it has kicked up some asthma I was sure had disappeared a long time ago. But I'm fighting my way through it as I have before and you can too. I promise. We just gotta hang in there together and be as present as possible for ourselves and our loved ones. Try to rest, focus on the quality of each breathe inside your mask, eat gentle nourishing meals, and do your best to remain calm. I've witnessed so many panic attacks this past week from consults I had to make for patients whose inner compass has decompensated as a result of the fires. It's like emotional triage work but we got through it and they all feelin much better and even manage a laugh w me before departing. Life is so precious my friends. And it's the threat of losing it that seems to
frighten some and humble others into realizing just how fleeting it can be. How are you holding up during these difficult days. Feel free to share your challenges😷👇🏼👇🏼
