#walkthankful#fit2b thrilled to be back in Romans. Obviously kids are here... but just love this place as well. Great food, THE BEST shoe shopping, people are fantastic (doesn't matter how long I've been away... the restaurant owners always remember me). So today ... just thankful I know this little french bijou.
[Day #11 ] no walk, [Day #12 ] no walk. Despite that I am thankful I spent time instead playing family board games and connecting with friends. [Day #13 ] the walk to commute stops offered some lovely views. I am thankful we have more sun shining upon us this fall, I am thankful to witness the holiday spirit setting in as I saw a massive Macy’s Christmas tree being setup. #walkthankful#fit2bwalking
Has anyone else played this game? I'm guessing it's not real popular. I'd never heard of it until I found it at the thrift store recently. I think it's really fun! Challenging, but fun! These were our "walking" steps today. #Fit2B#Fit2BWalking#WalkThankful Today I'sm thankful for music and dancing! Life would be so dull without them! #ElizabethAstrid#GarrusMalachi
Walk to the park this afternoon with Grammy @djlawrence310 and Uncle @kyledavis.pdx I also did some swinging with this little dude, which is actually a really fun workout! #Fit2B#Fit2BWalking#WalkThankful Today I'm thankful for visits from out of town family.
Day 11 ▪️#walkthankful ▪️#fit2bwalking ▪️#fit2b
So tonight I bundled up and took a walk...up and down my driveway. Total of about a mile. Had a "friend" offer to join me. He's also my thankful for today. And my favorite veteran! That's us twenty years ago. Too much to say about him so I'll just say I love him lots. Followed up my walk with Kelly's Total Body Stretching.
Day 10▪️#walkthankful ▪️#fit2bwalking ▪️#fit2b
I did not get any walking in save a trip to @webbcityfm to get some fresh healthy eats for the week. Someone had a birthday today and we've been busy and I'm exhausted. Not trying to make excuses. It's been a crazy few days. Back to the farmer's market...I 💙 it. I'm so thankful for the market and all the vendors. It's open year round unlike many others. Friendly vendors with delicious locally grown food. It's one of my favorite things to do each week!
[Day #10 ] Sunny day today and so thankful that kids decided to take their bikes out for a spin despite being cold. I got some reading done and captured some more beauty from the yard. I have always loved strolling and reading. Thankful for the kids being self-dependent enough while biking that I could get some stroll and read while keeping a watch on them. And yes stroll does count as walk, at least in my dictionary. That is time I didn’t spend sitting/in front of a screen :-)
This morning we went down town to help hang lights in our local light park and then we walked down main street to watch the Veteran's Day Parade, (and got SO MUCH candy!)🙄☺😳🤪🤦♀️🤷♀️ So, I'm going to beat you all and say (a day earlier than usual) that I am very thankful for our veterans today. Thank you, veterens, so much for your service!💕 #ElizabethAstrid#GarrusMalachi#Fit2BWalking#Fit2B#WalkThankful
A brisk day but a fun Solar System walk with some old friends and our kids. (We told the kids the cold helped simulate the vacuum of space. 😀) Even though it was cold, and I ended up piggy backing the littlest back to the house from Neptune, it was actually pretty invigorating. Today I'm grateful for long time friends, and kids who enjoy being together.
[Day # 9] To bust the myth that all days are rosy, ideal and only full of color, here’s a picture of the only amount of walk I got. Climbing up and down cold concrete flight of stairs in between a day of constant meetings. I would have climbed about 30 flights up and down (ok more downs than ups) in the day. Today I am thankful for getting my walk and intention despite being indoors, it actually might have been a boon in disguise since today was a chilled 32F day outside!
Walked to and from the car so many times. Sped walked into and out of the library. Walked around Walmart a bit. Walked swiftly through parking lots. Walked through Aldi also. Walked around the skating rink a bit watching the kids skate and play. Walked and stood around the kitchen cooking dinner tonight. So tired today. It's been a long day and it's not over yet.
Thankful for this beauty of a fireplace that's going to have a roaring fire in a short bit. It's supposed to get down to 18 degrees tonight. Brrr...
#walkthankful So glad to get in another walk! My buddy Abey came over to hang out and help me do some bulk cooking, so we took a break and took a walk on the trail. There’s a set of unused train tracks and lots of field area around so the boys explore while I toddle along with my 9 month pregnant self. At least we’re all having fun!
Honestly, kinda discouraged today 😩 we go to a gym once a week where I can lift heavy while the kids swim. This is a pic from last week because TODAY i arrived to find the weight floor closed 😡Keep out signs. Under construction. I actually shed a tear 😭 then I filled out a cancellation form for all the reasons (including NO EMAIL that it would be closed) but my kids needed to swim, and they said I could use the walking track 😡 Okay, you know I love walking, but once a week ONCE A WEEK we make a 1 hour trip to this place so we can access things we don’t have at home. It’s variety. It’s bone density. It’s part of our schedule. I felt so sad and ripped off as I slumped up to the walking track... then I snuck in! 😆 stole some small things to use on the walking track. Woe to the poor staff person who tried to stop me 🤭😆😂 I was so ridiculously mad... but I made up a whole new workout with an exercise ball + kettle bell, so there’s that 🏋🏻♀️And the walking I got was hoisting things around the track 🤪 and then I came home and raked leaves and pushed 4 wheelbarrow loads to the garden 🍁so why am I discouraged?? Well, my female athlete brain (as @brianna.battles calls it) feels like I didn’t do the big, heavy thing, therefore I didn’t do the real thing. I know I actually did something pretty awesome by changing up my routine and playing with some new moves, however I just had something totally different in mind today, and I’m so sad I couldn’t do it! Is that silly? Nooo, it’s life. And noooo, I won’t push myself harder next time I go to make up for it. In fact, I might need to back off a smidge after 2 weeks off lifting heavy, and that’s the real annoyance. But I will persist. I won’t give up. And once I finished my workout and burned off my bitterness, I had them cancel my cancellation because I am thankful for how it blessed my body even if every trip there is hard and challenging 😆🙌🏻🤸🏽♂️ #fit2b#ilovelifting#thief#squatrack#walkthankful#rakingleaves#weights#birthhealing#diastasisrecti#legday#coreday
Walk thankful day 8- I’m thankful for this wonderful guy! He is such a blessing to our family! And this pic doesn’t really have anything to do with my walk, except I was getting ready to go when I took it. #walkthankful#fit2be
[Day #7 ] No walk [Day #8 ] while coming back to work from an appointment in Seattle, I missed the bus (because I was capturing these gorgeous views), so I took the opportunity to walk longer to another bus stop instead of waiting longer for the next bus to arrive. Today I am thankful for technology, google maps in this case, that make it easier for me to venture and explore around while enjoying the sun that came out in full glory on a crisp, cold fall morning!
Walked with Beth again. Also walked at Target. Went up and down almost every aisle. The only reason that happened semi-peacefully is a wonderful little invention called the shopping cart. Thank goodness for them!!! The only way to take three little boys shopping and not be running three different directions chasing them, lol. Sorry, no pics of the goobers in the cart. 😔
My original plan to walk to our lunch date today and/or walk to the midweek prayer meeting at church were both thwarted today by a lack of proper time management (and possibly a cold dark evening), but the basement needed some serious cleaning and I walked up and down the stairs a few times to get some steps in when I got home. Not much, but better than nothing. I'm thankful for my brother today, who came to visit this week. I love it when he comes to visit!! And he graciously puts up with my very lax cleaning regime (i.e. the house is a complete mess right now🤦♀️🤷♀️) #Fit2B#Fit2BWalking#WalkThankful @kyledavis.pdx
Went on my first walk in November. Trying so hard to get moving before baby comes. I know it’s good for me but sometimes it’s hard to get going!
#walkthankful I’m thankful to have an amazing walking trail almost in my backyard that makes it easy to get a walk in!
Walked this afternoon. When the sun came out from the clouds I got warm, but then the breeze would blow. Brrr!
So communication is important, right? Well, I love communicating clearly with my family and friends. That is why I am so thankful for gifs! They make all conversations better and FUNNER! I do realize my images aren't fully themselves in this format, but you get the idea. Laughter is, after all, the best medicine! 😂😆😂😆😂😆😂😆😂😆😂😆😂
This afternoon I got home from work and my daughter asked to go for another walk. I think it's something she would like to do every day. It's one of the few times she doesn't have to share me with her brothers.
I was honestly exhausted and I really didn't want to, but I don't know how many more lovely days like this we'll have, so we headed out.
We found these gorgeous blooming roses sticking out of a random hedge. I was reminded yet again that I can find beauty anywhere, even at a time when the light is fading.
Today I am thankful for flowers that bloom in autumn, and enough afternoon light to walk by.
Taking part in the @fit2bstudio walking challenge today by purposefully walking 1.5 miles to see a client in Jersey City. I'm thankful for so many things today:
1) That I live in an incredible walking city with gorgeous views of NYC.🏙️ 2) the fabulous fall weather and foliage 🍁- couldn't have asked for a better day. 3) My Merrell Glove 4 Trail Runner shoes for #barefoot walking feel.👣
Nov. 7- Today I’m thankful that I left my home for Polish class extra early, giving me time to take a walk in a particularly pretty section of the city, which is vibrantly displaying the beauty of Autumn. 🍂 🍁🍃I am also thankful that my understanding of Polish grammar was better than normal in class. Perhaps first taking a walk outside in the sunny, crisp air helped prep my mind to focus and learn better? 🤔😃 #fit2bwalking#fit2b#walkthankful @fit2bstudio
Towards the end of the day, I found some time for a walk around Union Square with the kiddo. Lots going on: the big Christmas Tree is up in preparation for the holiday season (already?!), as well as the outdoor ice skating rink; hotel workers continue to strike for a better contract, cable cars and muni street cars and fire trucks punctuate the evening traffic along with taxi cabs, Ubers, and Lyfts...the balmy night air smells like hot dogs and egg rolls with neon red pink sauce. We marveled at it all. Grateful for the special time with the little. I’m fully aware these times won’t last forever, so I’ll take every chance I can get 🙏🏽💙 #momlife#walkthankful#fit2b#howsfseessf#unionsquare#jj_dnw#windows#changeinprogress
[Day #6 ] I am realizing that most of my walks are going to be in the evening, in the dark. Let’s see how long I can be creative about what pictures to take! For today I am thankful to see remnants of fall flowers before we run into some cold barren landscape for few months. My little one decided to go on a walk all decked for Diwali party at her school tomorrow and we explored some new areas of neighborhood today, thankful that she wants to hold my hand and give me company on these little explorations of ours!
Walking home from school with the boys. This is only a half mile walk round trip, but if not for the #Fit2BWalking challenge this month, I probably would have driven this today...so glad I walked instead! Today I'm thankful for this ten-year-old who I had the privilage of being mom to for ten months. He's with a new foster family now and my biggest praise to God for the whole situation is that even though he needed to move, he was able to stay close, go to the same school, see the same counselors, attend the same church, and I still get to pick him up from school occasionally. #Fit2B#WalkThankful#GarrusMalachi#MyNameDayIsApril19
Day 6▪️#walkthankful ▪️#fit2b ▪️#fit2bwalking
Today I'm thankful for nap time. Not mine, mind you. The babe's... our wildcard, lol. Course he'll be three on Saturday so not so much a babe anymore. Anyway, he's resting so we are walking.😴 😴 😴 😴 😴
One boy actually rode his bike and the other ran off and on so I was the only one just walking, lol. We saw a caterpillar, some berries, an airplane just after take off, a hedge apple, multiple dandelions, a pinecone, and counted pine trees. There were eleven in one spot in case you wonder. What a beautiful November afternoon for a walk. 💚 *I might add that we didn't just ditch the little one at home alone. Big sister was there too. 😉
Thankful for #pinellascounty , which does a fantastic job at maintaining their many large parks and playgrounds. Even in suburbia, I can find at least a half-dozen nature hikes within a 20 minute drive from home, and twice that number in playgrounds. The biggest hurdle is packing lunches and getting out the door... Do you also find that your home has a magnetic pull that just sucks you in and makes it so. hard. to leave?
Made it to the back of #wallspringspark today. This part of the park was closed off for well over a year because someone burned down the lookout tower, and then the bylaws changed so that it needed to be rebuilt to be handicap accessible. It overlooks beautiful, fish filled estuaries and the gulf. The weather was a nice, crisp 85 degrees.... The kind of weather vacationers hope for. Maybe in January or February the manatees might come in? They like to come inland when the bayou water is warmer than the ocean.
HA! Both these pictures make me SO happy inside. Today I'm thankful for #ElizabethAstrid and #GarrusMalachi and the smile they put on my face every single day! Mondays are dance day at our house.💃 Both kids and I all have dance class on Mondays. I LOVE tap dancing, it's my very favorite way to exercise, but I also walk to the dance studio and back home three times throughout the day.🚶♀️#Fit2B#Fit2BWalking#WalkThankful ➡️Before you say anything about that being amazing though...I can see the dance studio from our back yard. It would literally take longer to get myself and just one other kid in the car, buckled, the car started, moved, parked, passengers unbuckled, and out of the car than it does to just walk around the corner...even with a short legged four-year-old who doesn't always want to go where he's supposed to. And I can't tell you how many times we've been late over the years, so there's often a bit of running involved as well, and in Garrus' case, running with extra weight...🏃♀️😜 Also...for those of you following the Fit2B walking challenge, I'm also wearing a hat today!🧢 (It was needed, because I didn't get to wash my hair this morning...🙊)
[Day #5 ] [Saree #10 ] I am thankful for a wonderful Diwali celebration at work, for getting a short but intentful walk in my drive way for about 15 min. It was a dark wet evening here, but the Diwali lights were perfect to enable my walk in the comfort of my home while watching the kids. About the saree, it’s a luscious soft Paithani saree, the only one that my dear hubby bought for me, and emphatically my favorite saree from my collection! It’s silk is just the right amount of soft, it is just the right amount of weight - heavy enough to nestle me in this wet 50F weather while walking but light enough for me to wear all day at work and then a doc appointment and then an evening walk. It’s just the perfect fall so that I could wrap it in literally 3 min before going to work. On this day I am thankful for walking in my saree, in my comfort zone, amidst the lights of happiness!
November walk challenge day 6. Too dark for pictures during my walk tonight so I’ll share a pic of a recent walk on the streets of Havana. Thankful that I have the opportunity to travel and experience different cultures. #walkthankful#fit2bwalking#fit2b#loonarwellness #
Walking with company inside tonight. #fit2b on my screen as a guide. 😁
Hats? I hate wearing them, lol. My companion loves them and looks adorable. 😂😂😂 💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜
Thankful for this girl! Let me count the ways... nevermind that...can't count that high. She has grown into a sweet and sassy big girl. She was heading off to her first day at her first job and did not want her picture taken. She is a bit of a brat at times. 😂😂 I still love her though. 😁 Takes a bit after her mother as I was reminded of over the weekend. She is one of my bestest friends! For reals! What will I ever do without her!?! 💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜 @goose.webb
I took this today on my #4oclockwalk I'm feeling some pretty strong feelings about this place lately. Day by day It's part of what's healing my sweet husband and therefore me as well. It was a good weekend. A really good weekend. And this place played a huge part.
I almost never leave the house without earrings, even if it's just a 5 min walk to pick up thw kiddos from school. I'm loving my new Noonday Cow Horn Hoop earrings! Today I'm thankful we live so close to school so it's no big deal when Josh's errands take longer than expected and i have to walk to pick them up! #walkthankful#fit2b#noonday#cowhornhoops
So I’ve been remiss in going for an intentional walk so far this month. However, it’s never too late to start something new.
So today I’m walking and shopping with a pretty great kid who needed a break from the stress of school.
So he’s our feet after walking through a craft store. We’re both pretty grateful for the opportunity to hang out together.
Stupid time change means walking in the almost dark after dinner. It was pretty chilly too. A beautiful sunset though. 😊
Super thankful for this little rugrat who joined me for a trip to town. He is happy and loud and sweet and silly. He makes me smile and laugh a lot. His favorite thing to do is work with his daddy. He loves to play pretend guitar and annoy his brothers. He is my lovey and I adore him. 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Nov. 4th- Again, thankful for living in a relatively safe city and country (actually had two conversations about this today with other foreigners from two other countries who talked about how they appreciate living here). While I still don’t always feel 100% comfortable walking alone in the dark, it is something I have to get used to every Fall/ Winter here as soon it will be “night” even as early as 3:30pm. So again, beyond grateful for living in what is probably one of the safest cities/ countries/ cultures in the world. I don’t like it getting dark so early, but it’s a good reminder to thank the Lord for the “safety” situation! 😊 Also really thankful for a beautiful evening at church and afterwards getting to know some of the visitors better at dinner. #fit2bwalking#fit2b#walkthankful @fit2bstudio (Also, I had a clear photo and this blurry photo... I thought this one was more fun and pretty of an empty parking lot at night, so it won out! 😉)
Put the soup on on before heading out for day 4 November walking challenge. A little drizzle along the way but gray skies don’t mean less beauty. And it’s amazing what you see when you look at the world at walking speed. Also loved walking back into the house filled with the aroma of a comforting meal. #walkthankful#fit2bwalking#fit2b#cookwelleatwell#warmcomfortfood
