GrandeBass Big Bass Showdown 2018 went well with fishing conditions much more favorable than last year at Lady Bird with most of the field catching good quality fish throughout the day. Went about 2 miles from launch to get away from the crowd except for all the bass boats 😅 first on a spinnerbait, then my final 18.25” upgrade was on a buzzbait around some pockets of milfoil, wind was horrendous till about 11:30 where I could fish the dam safely and started catching fish and losing jigheads w/ a craw trailer but all 16-17”. Time was about up and I said to myself “last cast to this corner of riprap.” Pitched in and hopped it once then went to lift up and it felt like air with bait running out to deep water and jacked him and came up thought it was a 19-20” but it was a hunchback obese 18.25” 😤 so no cull. Woulda been a good tourney day but that’s how it goes!
Good seeing everybody again and meeting a few new people in the process like Matt Morton when we were talking about how the day went and it was fun watching the anticipation when the standings kept getting higher and higher with him getting a awesome 2nd place finish 👌
Shoutout to @teamyakusa for another well run event and Roar Organic for the drinks for everyone.
