Then: Circa 1940, located at 8225 #SunsetBlvd on the #SunsetStrip is The Players Nightclub which was a three-level playground to the stars with a restaurant on each floor. This was also the former space of Imperial Gardens, the Roxbury, and Miyagi’s. (The #ChateauMarmont is to the right)
Now: #PinkTaco opened its doors in this same structure in 2012.

“Make your life a masterpiece; imagine no limitations on what you can be, do or have” – Brian Tracy.
When we look at this picture, we see nothing but joy!!! From 2014 to 2016, Tigris had begun to receive plenty of award nominations and nods, but it wasn’t until the 2016 @topchoiceawards that we took home our very first win, followed shortly after by our CEO’s spot on the W100 List of Top Canadian Women Executives and Entrepreneurs.
When you work your butt off for over 10 years, it’s a wonderful feeling to be recognized for your work.
In addition to a beautiful trophy, attending the Top Choice Awards gala is nothing short of magical. They have a beautiful ice bar on display along with ice sculpture centrepieces, exciting entertainment, amazing food and a formidable opportunity to network with other like minded professionals.
There are just 2 weeks left to vote for the 2019 Top Choice Awards. Can we count on your support? Simply click the link in our bio or go to www.topchoiceawards.com/vote, search for Tigris and vote. Don’t forget to share your comments on why Tigris is deserving of this year’s win.
Today marks 100 years since some women were first able to vote and stand in a general election in the UK. Women qued in the cold on this day to vote for the first time ever.
Hats off to these amazing women and the strength it must have taken to get themselves there. Thank you to these women and those still fighting for a more equal society.
100 years ago, British women cast their first votes. Initially only propertied women over the age of 30 could vote. It was not until 1928 that the franchise was extended to women over 21 regardless of property ownership. Women voted in a UK general election for the first time in 1918. But only provided they were over 30 & either they, or their husband, met a property qualification.
On this day let's also remember SOPHIA DULEEP SINGH 💮🌺🌸☘ Sophia Duleep Singh is not mentioned in history lessons, though she financially and personally supported the suffragettes. She is also not appreciated for her War efforts, fundraising and nursing during the First World War and taking in 3 children during the second.
Also, many people seem to assume it was Emmeline Pankhurst who ‘threw herself under a horse’ in order to gain women the vote. It was actually Emily Davison. The truth is still debated to this day, but hi-tech film analysis suggests that Emily was actually attempting to attach a scarf to King George V’s horse Anmer.
