Yet another day of torrential rain and mmurky overcast conditions over here in London once more. I have just happily finished my #Volunteering duties for Oxjam (@oxjam) and I am quickly enjoying a yummy apple Danish and a hot coffee in Belsize Park before I board the train home.
So my beloved mother Geraldine will be celebrating her #birthday this coming Friday and it will also be my parents' wedding anniversary on the same day too (Friday, October 19th). Hopefully, the family will have something extremely special in good time for that as well.
Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday, everybody. Fingers crossed that the weather conditions are a lot brighter and sunnier wherever you are.
Be well, be happy and be lucky! God Bless! 👍😁😁😁💗💥👊☕🎶☕🎶 #HappyWednesday#GoodAfternoonWorld#MidweekMadness#WednesdayMotivation#TakeItOneDayAtATime#HappyHumpDay#LondonLife 🇬🇧

Q: You work in partnership with Podari Zhizn @podarizhizn in Russia. How do you support Podari Zhizn and why?
A: GOL raises funds in the UK, the rest of Europe and around the world to support international programmes of Podari Zhizn, its sister charity in Russia. Gift of Life provides young cancer patients in Russian hospitals with a better access to the most effective foreign cancer medicines, state of the art surgeries and vital medical care, as well as sponsors educational trips of the Russian doctors to international conferences on paediatric oncology, and supports experience exchange between medical specialists from Russia, Europe, Asia and the USA. Since 2011 Gift of Life has supported hundreds of children and young adults and has become one of the most reputable British charities with Russian heritage.
I leave here today and have no visibility on whether I’ll be back. The journey has been full of highs and lows. I have met many amazing people and have tried very hard to help but life here is extraordinarily frustrating. Everything I have attempted to do has been hobbled by pushback. I was blocked from visiting camps by govt bureaucracy, from putting together programs by people who say they supported me but don’t think my ideas will work without offering alternatives. Sometimes it's the current bureaucracy - many internationals cannot get into Shingal - that has caused the problems. Or the understandable protectiveness and insularity of the communities I've tried to help that have been the obstacle. In other cases people smile, say they will help and then do nothing. Often I have been alone in trying to get things done.
If anyone has links to places in Shingal where I could actually be useful I’m all ears. There is a desperate need for effective programming in both the camps in Kurdistan and in Shingal and I would dearly love to be part of making things better here. #volunteering#refugeereality#idpreality
Volunteering in Calatayud , Spain - protectora armantes
Me and a friend volunteered for a week in Spain to work with dogs who were left behind with broken legs and thrown away in plastic bags aswell as given no love or home. .
We stayed at this lovely place in Calatayud with hosts who had the most welcoming characters I’ve ever experienced in my life. They spend their whole free time at the Refugio, care so much about the dogs that sometimes they even cannot sleep. It’s incredible to see what people are able to feel and do. I have a lot of respect for the whole team and anyone else who’s doing such charity work.
The dogs we worked with are very different some are older and “wiser” and therefore relaxed and quiet, some are young and playful and some are very shy but still extremely happy.
I just wish everyone would rather take dogs who are already alive then buying overpriced unborn dogs who are made for sale 🤬. .
In calatayud are beautiful and lovable dogs and if ever anyone thinks of getting one please contact them or me. .
😍Amazing meeting with the superstars over at @wwf_uk yesterday! 💫
Exciting to learn more about this amazing #charity & the work they do effecting change in #climatechange , #deforestation , #habitatloss , sustainable development and much much more!
🙌🏾 Keep up the incredible work, and we’re super excited to see more #WWF volunteers joining us at festivals in 2019! 💋
Yesterday, we had a blast helping out with an after-school programme! No better way to spend a Tuesday afternoon than introducing our fab sport to a bunch of energetic, cheerful kids #volunteering#saintsport#kids#handball#saints
Ecuador was the first country to officially recognise the rights of nature. Since 2008, nature has no longer been treated as property, rather, as having a “right to exist, persist, maintain and regenerate its vital cycles”- Rights of Nature. Self-sufficient communities are increasingly on the rise, employing sustainable practices such as ecotourism projects. This image was taken in Nanegal, near to Yunguillas, a self-sufficient community constantly improving their ways and traditions to benefit the land they live in and the wider environment (and just one of the life changing destinations that Lattitude volunteers can immerse themselves in to help and learn from the amazing community) #yunguillas#ecotourism#environment#selfsufficient#sustainability#lattitudeglobalvolunteering#volunteering
We love doing our bit and giving back! Rina has spent the year volunteering on the committee for @galaonthegreen , an event that raises funds for Brisbane Youth Services. The event came to life over the weekend and raised valuable funds for a great cause. Bespoke Family Lawyers was also a major sponsor of the event. At Bespoke we do our best to support our community. #givingback#brisbaneyouthservices#volunteering#galaonthegreen#gotg2018#bespokefamilylawyers

Love’s greatest gift is its ability to make everything it touches sacred. It is never lost. If not reciprocated, it will flow back and soften and purify the heart. 💜💛
Join us and make impact in our community this October. SAVE THE DATE: 27TH OCT 2018. Let's beat hunger together.

It’s World Food Day! Living in a city like New York, it can be easy to forget where our food comes from. Last month, our GenR New Roots Community Farm trip brought us back to the earth and reminded us of the benefits of sustainable food development. This year’s Food Day theme is migration and food security. In a global environment of increasing displacement, it’s crucial to invest in rural development to allow farmers to keep their livelihoods and lands. Most of the world’s poorest populations work in agriculture, and it’s time to protect these communities and the lands they depend on.
