Sad case today... but a good teaching moment.... this big girl presented to us for not eating well and being obviously pregnant. The owner wasn’t sure when she got pregnant or how far along she was. Unfortunately the puppies inside her are dead and will have to be surgically removed but this is why you always need to take your dog to the vet for check ups. Especially when pregnant. If the puppies stayed inside her it could have caused mass infection leading to death of the mother! #alwaysgotothevet#visitthevet#takecareofyourpet
So tired after visiting the vet.
All the girls had developed lumps in their udder, so we went to the vet today, filled with worry. My girls mean the world to me, and we have had a bad year with Elsas tumors in the udder and Nanna had to pull out some teeth. She suffers from parodonthitis and had tooth decay in one tooth. But, ..... the vet said, if we are lucky, the lumps on all girls can be due to pseudopregnancy. We will do a checkup in one month and see if they have shrunken or not. If not there will be an operation on all of them. So for now, I pray🙏
Our beautiful Lion City Kitty has been in the wars - and has the puncture wounds to prove it.
A nasty infection meant that we needed to head to the vets.
@ambercatvet just around the corner was perfect! Vet Emma cleaned the wounds and sent us off with everything we needed.
#Rosa#labrador#feber smerter #dyrlæge medicin #hjemmeigen#blacklabrador#fever#pain#visitthevet#backhome ❤️
Back to the vet! This bugger did something to his GOOD leg (probably torn ACL) while feeding the sheep last night. His other (bad) leg has already had multiple surgeries for different reasons. Now we get to keep a 40kg hunting dog with the personality of a toddler calm for a week or two! #visitthevet#huntingdog#housesittingadventures#workingholiday#australia
Say hi to Zac, the German Shepherd cross puppy. Poor little Zac has had tummy troubles and turns out he has Giardia, a protozoan parasite which causes gastrointestinal problems such as diarrhoea and vomiting.
Thankfully Zac is on the mend and receiving treatment from Dr Moore at Orange Grove Vet.
He is such a cute little boy but quite noisy as his owner can vouch!
Meet Milo an adorable chocolate Lab puppy. Milo came through to Orange Grove Vet today to have his 3rd set of vaccinations.
It is vitally important to insure your puppy or kitten receive vaccinations to build sufficient immunity against diseases such as Parvovirus, distemper, Feline Herpes & FIV (in cats) and Rabies, to name a few.
Both puppies and kittens receive a level of protection against these diseases from their mother's milk, however this immunity eventually wears off as they are weaned and that is why they need booster vaccinations.
