Dublin's Quays are one of the city's most emblematic features. They define the city as they stretch for nearly 3 miles through it's heart. Uneven fronts and rooflines result from their piecemeal development from the 17th century onwards.
Restrained sections such as this at Ormond Quay were intended to act as a foil for grand public buildings.
