How does one begin a post about war and its devastating repercussions on innocent lives -no matter which side of the fence they are living in.
The way our world is structured, it seems that no matter what, the innocent, who really have little say or influence over the decision making, pay the price.
So my second Hiroshima post is of the ground zero sight where the first nuclear bomb, known as the “Little Boy,” was dropped.
The Genbaku Dome was the only building left standing despite being almost directly below the hypocenter of the bomb's blast.
Its surroundings have been rebuilt and 70+ years on, life in this city looks pretty normal.
Citizens of any country have little choice but to follow their government orders. It doesn’t mean they condone or agree with them, yet will suffer the consequences of the wrong decisions. So as I stand here at Hiroshima, where a man-made weapon wiped away lives and towns within seconds, I am reminded that war is a game of power and an average person is a helpless puppet and a dispensable pawn in this game. The commanders sit safely in their bunkers, somewhat immune to the consequences of their actions, while the innocent, who are simply thinking about how to survive another day, are the ones that pay the ultimate price. On earth, evil reigns and the innocent suffer. This system has never changed and will never change. Perhaps somewhere out there is another realm where this rebalances out. The spirits of peace seem to hover over this city. You feel their presence, like a beautiful dream of a world where peace reigns and only evil suffers. It may be an illusion but it is a prayer which reverberates at every step and turn. When you visit Hiroshima, you are
reminded that life is not simply about surviving, it is also about constantly reflecting on how to make this world a better place. #sabrinaghani#hiroshima#japan#visitjapan#visitasia#war#history#WW2#nuclearbomb#travelblogger#passionpassport#traveltheworld#instagram#instadaily#ig_world#igoftheday#picoftheday#naturephotographer#architecturephotography#amazing#traveldiaries#holidays#summervacation#photographer#traveller#blogger
