We had to cut kits for the @violetcraft Lion Abstractions Quilt in Fall Textures! Isn’t this gorgeous?
The Lion Abstractions quilt is a paper-pieced pattern. The kit includes Kona Cotton, Essex Yarn-Dyed Metallics, and Manchester solids bundled for the top and binding. Pattern available separately. You can search “lion” in the shop to find it! 🦁 -
There’s a cow in here somewhere! I finished all the paper pieces for the first cow - I was asked to make 2 by Christmas! I don’t know if I’ll get the second one finished in time. And if you’re wondering about the fabric quantity, I ordered a fabric kit and have a lot of leftover fabric! Will help on starting the second one. Here we go... #CowAbstractions#VioletCraft#PaperPiecing#QuiltPattern#KonaSolids#EssexLinen
I can finally share one of my favorite things I made this year! This mini quilt was a birthday present for my MIL who loves red birds. They have a very special meaning for her and when I saw this pattern by @violetcraft I printed it out and got to work immediately. I had so much fun with this one. . .
Christmas tree skirt progress! I am working on Violet Craft’s Atomic Starburst tree skirt pattern. I am excited to be sewing it up with this Cotton and Steel Frost bundle. I have all the solid diamond pieces together...now I need to make 11 more of the starbursts to put together 😬😬😬 needless to say I am a little nervous about finishing this before Christmas.... #atomicstarbursttreeskirt#greentablequilting#violetcraft#cottonandsteel
Cow Abstractions Quilt kits in the shop! Includes 11 yards of Kona Cotton, Essex Yarn-Dyed and Manchester bundled for the Cow Abstractions Quilt by @violetcraft. Binding and pattern also included, but not backing. Finished size: 54'' x 42'' 🐮 -
The weather is making it difficult to take photos of completed tops...so onto the next project. Staying positive and focusing on the adorable muzzle I pieced instead of the number of days I have left before Christmas. 😳 #wolfabstractions#violetcraft#onclairescuttingmat
A month or two ago I finished piecing my #lionabstractionquilt by the wonderful #violetcraft I am really happy with the way it turned out #violetcraftepp . The recipient is requesting it go into a queen sized quilt so this is the last you’ll see of it for quite a while. In the meantime it lives on my wall.
I’m totally amazed at how much difference a couple of slight tweaks make. I decided to give silk thread a try instead of polyester and it makes the stitches smooth like butter! The other change is doing flat back stitches instead of whip stitches. On the first picture where the needle is you can not see any stitches but on the second picture you can see I have almost completed that seam whereas you can see my messy whip stitches in the flamingo pink seam. I love learning what works for me! #quilting#quiltersofinstagram#epp#englishpaperpiecing#violetcraft#violetcraftepp
