I’m delighted to share the news that I have been nominated by @image_interiors for “Interiors Instagrammer of the Year” in their Design Awards. I started this Instagram account just over a year ago to share the progress of our renovation, so it means a huge amount to be shortlisted in this category. Thank you @image_interiors #designawards#interiordesign
🗝🗝🗝 Our very own house! 🗝🗝🗝
Soo much to do but a lot of potential. Original floorboards made me happy even if the rest of the house is a big mess. Oh and we pulled a rag out of the chimney and a dead pigeon and blackbird fell in a heap on the living room floor 🙈
Back on the decoration horse, after a few tumultuous months. This week we’ve ordered the butchers block section of the worktop. The first image is an inspo pic (ours will have the wood and marble the opposite way round) all we have to do is decide on the oil colour. I was initially veering towards a dark stain, but as we have black units I’m wondering if there will be enough contrast. Received a sample yesterday which was in a mid brown colour (3rd pic) which I wasn’t expecting to like, but I do. The colours available from our supplier are in the last pic, please weigh in with any opinions!
I love a blank canvas. Swim swim swimming with ideas to make this into an office. As alluded in my last post I’m thinking white floors, white everything. Maybe some brass. It’s not very ‘me’ but there’s a lot of bold stuff going on elsewhere and thinking the office should be calm. Next up: our first attempt at sanding floorboards. What could go wrong? #homeoffice#victorianterrace#loftconversion#loftoffice#blankcanvas#allwhitedecor
I’m the middle of sorting my #bathroom . When we first moved to our house 3 years ago the bathroom was rather different! Lime walls, the shower was hanging off and it looked a little like something from Bates Motel! 🙈 . Admittedly we don’t have the money to completely renovate it to how we would like at the minute, but we are ‘tweaking’ it. I’m s huge fab of grey and I consider it a pretty neutral colour so I’ve started with that and I’m slowly incorporating my own art work as well as pieces we’ve collected over the years. The mirror is from an old hotel in Hawick ,Scotland and the towel hooks were an amazing bargain from @tkmaxx #bathroomdecor#bathroom#restyle#interiors#decoratingonabudget#renovating#victorianhouse#victorianterrace#ilivehere#myhome#allthegreys
This is our old spare room which my husband converted into our beautiful bathroom as the old bathroom was downstairs at the end of the kitchen, complete with green carpet 😜
My husband always wanted his & hers sinks...I wasn't too keen at first thinking of TWO sinks to clean haha but as soon as they were installed, I fell in love & I really enjoy cleaning our bathroom and making it all sparkly ✨ I'm a bit strange maybe?...or just house proud hmmm 💗
I love our roll top bath 😍 Being a tiny lady at just 4ft 11, it's the first bath where I've been able to reach the other end with my tootsies and not slip under the water 👏🏻 little things eh 😂
Have a lovely Saturday everyone ✨💗
This guy has had a makeover this morning and got all glammed up. Only took 20 mins. Probably need to add a lick of varnish to seal the stick-on tiles, but happy with how it looks! Saturday morning #upcycling
The ceiling saga.. For those who saw my post the other day you will know the dining room ceiling fell apart.
This was a nasty surprise because what we thought was going to be a simple paint job in this room turned into something entirely different.
After one coat of white paint a small crack appeared and then the plaster progressively started splitting and came away! (See video 😭) We discovered artex underneath which was the culprit and had no choice but to have it all scraped back and skimmed.
Long story short there was a lot of movement in the ceiling so we opted to have it boarded and then skimmed to try and prevent a reoccurrence.
We now have lovely fresh plaster 😀 But it just goes to show that you never quite know what you’re going to find in a seemingly ‘fine’ room 😅
Final day of #MADEdotcom week on #thelifestylehub - simply had to end it with @meganellaby and her beautiful sofa from @madedotcom - coincidentally she's just realised her living room tour on her blog so go check it out!
