What happens when your dad arrives for a 2 week Christmas break... he doesnt have a break and turns into superdad!
A pantry built, 2 cupboards, fitted a worktop, fitted 5 shelves (made a shelf too!) and fixed 3 crappy doors. ~
Ok it all needs painting and filling, but looooook! Oh and the joys of organising that cupboard... no... actually! I am so looking forward to a day of organising!!!
Exactly 1 week today I will be finished work for Christmas break! I can’t bloody wait! Are you all ready for the big day?!
I haven’t shown much of this room yet but I really love the ceiling details in here! Swipe to see!
After much debate with Terry I think I may have won on my decision to put up a gallery wall on the left hand side! This hallway is a bit alternative to the other traditional colours and styles we have chosen to go with within the house so why not go a bit mad? Besides a hallway is like an introduction to your home and personality and whilst I absolutely adore traditional decor, I also love a bit of kitsch art! So ‘Go mad’ I hear you say? Thank you, I will 😃, good luck Terrance! #victorianhouse#periodproperty#dulux#denimdrift#farrowandball#victorianhallway#pinkfrontdoor#pinkdoorsofinstagram
#middleageshoutout so it's my birthday today and after four hours of driving yesterday to go to a meeting in London and having another meeting at half eight this morning I decided to finish work early and get some paint on the walls! After the paint disaster I had using valspar, don't ever touch that stuff people it's awful, we now have beautiful walls! After it all went wrong I took the valspar back to b&q and showed them the photos of how it looked after two coats and they gave me my money back with no argument! Thanks to the suggestion from @jackieclarrie82 I got in touch with Helen from @decoratingcentreonline and they sorted us out with a colour matched tin of trade paint which does a proper job. If you really like a colour in Valspar don't buy it there instead pop online and get it matched by @decoratingcentreonline ! So yeah lots of waffle but that's it I spent part of my birthday decorating and I fecking loved it!!
Love this little space - my makeup room! Yes, I do have enough makeup to fill up a room, but it's a very tiny one, honestly! 🙈 I work as a makeup artist part time so that's my excuse! Oh & I think I'm probably breaking a cardinal rule of Instagram by lighting a 'spring' candle in Winter, I just haven't gotten round to using it in the last 8 months 😫

Our Christmas Tree has been up since Sunday - I love it - it’s batshit crae... def not a Pinterest tree and it’s bloody mahousive 😆 I just keep laughing to myself at how big and crae crae it is 😆 (the weird colouring on the ceiling is the tree reflections - panicked yesterday it was smoke stains 😆 In my defence I had a bit of flu delirium 🤧)
We didn’t have a Christmas tree in the flat for the last three years - this time last year we had no vacate the flat (of ten years) before Christmas with no where to move to - which was pretty stressful and then the years before we always decorated Duke/spent more time there than home and then went home to our parents so we didn’t bother 😭 but along that time I started a bauble collection - just one or two here and there, and that’s what I want our tree to be over the years not a theme but a crazy collection of objects 👍🏻
This year I whipped up the mismatched shape garland out of @camirafabrics samples and then the year before we stopped having a house tree ago I broke up a load of old jewellery and that went on plus we made bits with our friends kids and I’ve started an off shoot collection of weird birds this all coupled with a very small collection of baubles makes for a very weird eclectic tree which I love 🙌🏻
🎄 @helloflorauk put up a pic of their tree this week and I want mine to be a bit like that in ten years time but I’ll never be that ordered 😍 @thisstyle_rocks also has the same vibe going off that every decoration has a story - which is so good! And @1fiveone has been making decs like nobodies business - check out her tutorials for not just ace makes but pure welsh tones 😍 @1fiveone maybe we should do a Swansea/Cardiff live make off fuelled by gin 😉
We might have cleared the space for the tree but the house renovation debris, boxes of crap are still very much a thing in the room which hopefully over the next couple of weeks will get a bit more sorted - was stressing myself out to create the perfect friends Christmas but essentially all they actually care about is food and booze so who gives a shit about boxes 😆
I don't like hot weather but I do miss brighter days. It's been so dull and dark in Cardiff for ages. Doesn't help the old mental health. Hope everyone is well and having a good day. I'm counting down the seconds to payday tomorrow 😁😁😁😁
They sure don’t make em like they used to. •
It’s sad to see homes like this with incredible architecture and attention to detail deteriorate. If I could save all of the historic homes in the world, I would. •
This home is a possible George Barber design. Also, it just so happens to be located in Ottawa, IL which is right outside of my hometown. There is no shortage of amazing architecture in Illinois and I miss it. • 📷 cred: @mhunts1 who continuously shares pics of beautiful homes in the Midwest and beyond. •
