Obviously the owner of the most winter album ever has to go to Björks vespertine. This is an album about love most of all. Its like being snuggled up with the person you love, sitting in front of a window and watching the snow drift by. The intricate mico-beats (which took an insane time to do) are like the sounds of icicles breaking. The music boxes sound like they're playing off the mantle of a fire place. Theres also a lot of sex in this album, I'd say winter is pretty sexy and I bet Björk would say the same. Winter is the time where all the animals huddle up and fall asleep, she does just this with her lover. Its all an insanely beautiful album BUT its Björks worst album to me, which is a really really unpopular opinion, its beauty just isnt used in different ways honestly. Its a bit disappointing but I don't think you'll notice unless you're really into Björk. But you should still listen to this album, regardless of your mood or season, it'll always make you feel good, unless you've listened to Vulnicura. .

My love @bjork my eternal muse.
These photos are all from Vespertine’s Instagram page. And much better than anything I could have taken. Some of these courses we had, some are variations on what we had. One fish course was covered in charred onion that looked exactly like the black lava stone dish it was served on. It was delicious and we scraped the bowl clean, although you couldn’t tell. Our kelp was served on a large tree branch that we mistook for decor. After we sat there a bit, Kinon whispered “I think we are supposed to eat this.” #vespertine @kinon82 #ca#la#tbt
v e s p e r t i n e was every bit as transcendental as we’d hoped it would be. Out of respect for the experience I refrained from taking pictures of every single thing we had to eat and every single thing that happened. Of course, I now regret that decision. These are exteriors of the garden where we began and where we had plums and tea and licorice root to chew on at the end of the experience after we traveled the levels of the building. This raspberry etc dessert was such a beautiful work of art. None of it was what you expected. The shell was paper thin with cream and a sauce underneath; some of the pieces on the edge of the bowl were solid, some were a fruity paste. It was all other worldly. Honestly their photos are better, so stay tuned... #vespertine @kinon82 #ca#la
How to describe an experience so surreal that it goes beyond the sense of taste to the intellectual! For that’s what the almost 5 hour dining experience with boy genius Jordan Khan was last evening! To be greeted by him personally and then experiencing (!) one by one the amazing menu which was indescribable! We opted for sake which was again one of the best I have ever tasted. Each dish had to be seen to be believed. The servers were clad in black Armani like clothing and added to the surrealness of the ambience. The finale was to be seated back in the Japanese garden on heated seats ( by the time we ended it was 1.30 am) and taste hot tea and three types of brandies. For me it’s still like a dream...#vespertine#jordankhan#whatanight#culvercity
