Methi Ghavan 😍

Ingredients
🌸1 cup rice flour (chawal ka atta)
🌸1/4 cup finely chopped fenugreek (methi) leaves
🌸1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
🌸1/2 tsp grated ginger (adrak)
🌸1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
🌸1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
🌸1 tsp oil
🌸salt to taste
🌸oil for greasing and cooking

Method
🌸Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl along 2 cups of water to make a batter of pouring consistency.
🌸Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) on a medium flame, grease it lightly using a little oil.
🌸Pour a ladleful of batter on the tava (griddle) and spread evenly into a 125mm. (5”) diameter circle.
🌸Cook the ghavan using a little oil, till it turns golden brown in colour from both the sides.
🌸Repeat with the remaining batter to make more 11 ghavans.
🌸Serve immediately.

This photo reminds me of the very reason why we need to stop animal exploitation and animal agriculture.

Humans are a compassionate species. We do not grow up with aspirations of working on the kill floor in a slaughterhouse. How many times have you heard someone say “I want to slaughter animals when I grow up”... never. And if you did, I’m sure you have your own opinion on that. However, we’ve often heard people say “I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up because I want to help animals”. Those who work in slaughterhouses, especially on the kill floor are amongst the most vulnerable members in our society, immigrants, those with drug and alcohol addictions, those who have been tangled up with the law and cannot find work anywhere else. 
Olymel, A slaughterhouse in Red Deer, experienced a 100% turn over rate of Canadian workers, so they started offering work to those involved in the temporary foreign workers program, which involves employing people from other countries who want to work in Canada. 
We do not want to do the work. 
Those who work in slaughterhouses experience PTSD, and other psychological illnesses, because what they are faced to endure what we cannot even look at through a Facebook video or photo. We turn away, and they are faced with committing the act on innocent animals who have experienced a lifetime of exploitation and oppression. 
From worker to animals, the whole system is oppressive, unfair, and violent, and breeds violence into communities. We can stop this by not supporting animal agriculture.

Vegan Curry with Lebanese Bread
Complemented with stir-fried choy sum (菜心). Ingredients: (4 servings)
1 big swede, cut into big chunks 
5 brinjal/aubergines/eggplant, cut into 3 🍆 
2 carrots, cut into thick rings carrots 🥕
2 big fresh tomatoes 🍅, diced
2 big fresh tomatoes 🍅, quartered 
5 tofu puffs, quartered 
1/2 onion, diced
1 sprig curry leaves, chopped 
2 Tbsp vegetarian curry powder 
2 Tbsp cooking oil 
1 tsp salt .

Method:
1. Sauté onion & curry leaves in oil, until brown.
2. Add all the vegetables,  2 fresh diced tomatoes.
3. Once boiling, tomatoes will liquified with its natural juices.
4. Add curry powder. 
5. Turn heat to medium. 
6. Cook for 15 minutes. The swede will thicken the sauce.
7. Add tofu puffs, salt & 2 quartered tomatoes.
8. Cook for further 5 minutes.
9. Garnish with coriander.

I roughly tore up the fried halloumi and stirred it through the veggie curry, then served it with steamed organic brown rice. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I wasn't sure how this would turn out, but it was a huge hit!  Even Miss 4 cleaned her bowl, even though she says she hates cauliflower and cooked carrots.  Now I just need to write it down before I forget the ingredients 🤣

Le côté chaud froid j’adore ! J’ai fait doré au four des tranches de patates douces et des pommes de terre (+un filet d’huile + paprika + herbes Provence) , à 200degres pendant 40min ! Résultat bien croustillants et fondants à cœur un délice 😛! Je les ai servies toutes chaudes sorties du four sur un lit de salade, tomate cœur de bœuf, un reste de courgettes rôties, des pois chiches grillés et un pesto d’avocat !!! Un repas ultra complet, sain et vraiment trop trop bon 😛😛😛 !
