That day I had wanted some sweet watermelon for SO long! I went into shops and couldn't find any nice ones. Kept saying to my mum - "mum I really really want some nice watermelon" next day I come home and what's waiting? THIS RIPE ASS WATERMELON BABYYYYY 🍉
I was so grateful to my parents and grandad who had gone out especially to find some (bc who doesn't love a good watermelon hunt?! 😂) and I was SO HAPPY. I cut off a chunk, grabbed a spoon, went outside and just sat in the sun enjoying my watermelon... (+ selfies for the gram ofc). You can just see it on my face though, it was the best feeling I've had in a while and it was SO SIMPLE AND PURE 🧡 ~
What I learnt from this is that if you really desire something in life, whatever it may be, share it with those who love and care about you. They will go out of their way to not only make you happy but also to help you succeed 😁 💕
Hope everyone has an amazing Friyay 🙏🏽🌼
Our third and final article of Fashion Under Capitalism series by ethical writer Tiffany Ko is now live! This article discusses Inequality in the Meritocratic Ideal. Follow the link in our bio to read the eye opening article.
No edits necessary? This was seriously the colour of my dinner on Tuesday night and I am now obsessed with the caramelised onion/cheesy pasta combo. I can't believe what a difference the onions make to my satisfaction and it only takes a touch of oil and a teaspoon of sugar to elevate this dish. I feel like it's the missing puzzle piece in my mac and cheese dream.
I used coconut sugar to caramelise my onion. Why? Not because of any supposed health benefits. I'm currently trying to exhaust ingredients like coconut sugar, coconut flour, and brown rice syrup because I purchased these things over the last few years when trying out "clean" and "natural" recipes and it took me till this year to appreciate how pointless they are! Going to a talk by @plantbased_pixie last night reaffirmed my new views and it's time to downsize my collection of silly ingredients. I will always love the flavour and texture of maple syrup though 💕
Yesterday, I had quite a few girls messaging to say THANK YOU for sharing my binge eating story. Most of them shared they own struggles trying to beat this vicious cycle.
The main worry was that they are scared to put on weight. Therefore, they feel a constant need to control and restrict everything they eat, which then leads them to extreme binge eating episodes.
I felt exactly the same!
I thought if I stop any of it, I would suddenly become fat.
So, I want to share a quick shot of me taken this morning.
. I want to encourage you to let go of your fears and to trust your own body. .
It has been 6 months I no longer:
. - Count calories every single day . - Weigh myself every single week
. - Exercise 6 times a week, for about 1h30min . - Practise intermittent fasting .
How was my body changed? .
It hasn’t!! .
What kind of lifestyle I live at the moment? . - I eat normal size meals every 3-4 hours .
- I exercise 3 times a week for 30minutes and go to yoga class once a week .
- I only check how many calories I eat once in a few weeks ( to check if I am getting enough nutrients and consume enough food) .
- I check my weight once a month .
As long as you move your body and nourish it with nutrient rich foods, while enjoying some processed foods once in a while, you won’t have any weight problems. .
What about the fear of not being able to control yourself while eating? .
I noticed that once I allowed myself to eat as much as I want and stopped the next day punishing routine, after a few weeks, my binge eating was gone. Either I am eating at home or having some processed food while out with my friends, I am able to connect with my instinctive signals of hunger and fulness. .
Facing your fear and letting it go it’s not the easiest, but definitely the quickest way to heal! .
Morning everyone 🤗 - it’s FRIDAY! Hope that you’ve all had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend 🎉! Hopefully the sun will be here to stay so that we can have a BBQ or two. This morning i’ve got some porridge with fruit and have had the pleasure of sitting outside to enjoy the morning rays. I love the weather right now. Bright mornings make for a good day ☀️💗☀️
Happy Summer Solstice for yesterday! Trying not to focus on the decline of the sun to come (shorter days and longer nights). Forever learning balance. I spent Father's Day at his allotment with him, weeding and picking the fruits and vegetables he grows with a passion. Just look at the strawberries!! The days may begin to shorten, but the world is still full of life and the sun is warm. The holidays are on their way and so are the tomatoes! Hope you had a great one and that your weekend is super too!
💚 VEGAN YOGHUT + GREEN SMOOTHIE PARFAIT (recipe below) 💚 this was without a doubt the quickest breakfast I have made in about two weeks and I’m happy to say that I spent all the minutes I saved making my way through the washing up I haven’t had time to do all the previous mornings this week (who has time to deep clean a waffle iron at 7 o’clock in the morning?? WELL I did this morning and now I’m feeling 10/10 on top of things ✌🏻this is why people get up at 5am isn’t it? getting things done is F👏🏻U👏🏻N👏🏻) GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPE >> 1 banana, 1/4 frozen avocado, 2 handfuls spinach, 1 tbsp matcha powder, juice of 1/2 a lemon, 1/2 cup @vitacocoeu coconut water + 1 tbsp psyllium husks (optional) ~ blended on high until smooth and layered on top of @alpro soy yoghurt 🙏🏻 topped with the usual suspects: frozen raspberries, peanut butter and granola 💦f r e s h h h 💦

Today I’m flying to Berlin to join the @anonymousforthevoiceless 24 hour cube of truth and march. Peacefully and silently protesting to end animal exploitation | You can make a difference, choose compassion not cruelty ❤️
Last night I finally made it to @vantralondon - the vegan restaurant serving food which is "good for your gut". It's a dangerous place for people like me who aren't used to having options (being vegan and all!) and who want to try everything 😂 They let you take as much food as you want and then charge you according to the weight. My very full plate was just over £10 👍
Cute down to earth restaurant in Soho with friendly staff. My meal was full of flavoursome goodness including mushroom stroganoff, chickpea curry, lentil dhal, BBQ cauliflower, scrambled tofu and 3 way mash (potato, sweet potato and parsnip) 💚
Needless to say I was pretty stuffed for the rest of the night!
Ever since I tried my aunt's home made granola I have been making my own. It is delicious and you have complete control over the ingredients and flavours. This time I grated in some organic apple from @talltreeindia into my @natureorganic.in oats and red rice poha which is a flaten rice.
In case you didn't know oats are packed with protien. And according to my dad you can never eat enough oats, but being Scottish we are a bit biased. 😉 #breakfast#healthyvegan
I was so excited to go here when I got back to Edinburgh, I didn’t get the chance to go before I left for Berlin in January. It 100% lived up to expectations, the buffalo cauliflower was amazing! I can’t wait to go back and have pancakes for breakfast soon. #BuffaloCauliflower @seedsforthesoulltd
