@traderjoes always has great prices, so this is a great swap! They’re #soyfree & #glutenfree making them a great high-protein option if you need to s kid those. People are often weary of “fake meats,” but the ingredients here are pretty wholesome. I wish they hadn’t added the caramel coloring, but otherwise like what I see! The flavor isn’t “beefy” like Beyond Meat or the Impossible Burger. It’s got more of a savory flavor and a light, crispy texture when you heat it up in a pan. 4/5 🍔 #veggieburger #veganburger

18 vs 28. I had no concept of healthy living at this time of my life. I ate fast food and drank excess amounts of alcohol. I was so depressed and lost. Fast forward to now. When I’m stressed out or anxious, I have healthy coping mechanisms to turn to. I’ve shifted my lifestyle and behaviors so that no matter what state my mind or life is in, I’m not self-sabotaging. 
Do you need help with behavior changes? Do you resort to binge eating or under eating?? If so, know that you’re not alone. You don’t have to feel this way and act this way. Felt like they hadn’t seen the wrath of my training yet, so it’s always great for me to push them to extreme limits, where your mind says “yes” but your body physically cannot do it. Ahhh the best feeling!! They all passed and it was hysterical for me to watch (sound on 📣!!)

Recently, I tried to recall the first time I heard about veganism. It wasn’t something I grew up with. I met a few vegetarians as a kid and understood that they didn’t eat meat, but I didn’t even hear the word “vegan” until much later in life. Even then I really didn’t understand the concept of a vegan lifestyle until I went to holistic health school. . .

It’s been almost 6 years now since I decided to make the transition. Although I will never go back, I cannot have any regrets about my life before because I truly didn’t know anything else. Going vegan was the complete opposite of my upbringing and what I learned about nutrition being in the fitness space at that time. I grew up hunting & fishing with my family and it was considered a skill. I didn’t know anything about factory farms, but for most of my young life I thought raising animals for food was necessary. . .

The reason I bring this up is because I still meet a lot of people who don’t really know what vegan means. Not here on IG where people are obviously searching for “vegan” when they find me, but in real life. The real world. Yet, I see other vegans using their platforms to claim the moral high-ground, when not so long ago, most of them didn’t know any better either. . .

First of all, going vegan doesn’t make you the moral barometer for the rest of society to aim for. Is it an ethical choice? Sure! It most certainly can be, but there are as many ways to be an asshole as there are to be a good person and no of us is the exception. Not eating animals is good, but if you’re using veganism as a means to knock down others, you’ve completely missed the point. . .

You might get more praise preaching to the choir, but you don’t create much change that way. Change in this case means saving lives - animals & people. So I think it’s worth considering even if the it’s not as appealing at first. If you really want to make an impact you need to find a way to reach the people who aren’t vegan. Not just reach them, but reach out to them. Because if you don’t have compassion for them, how are you going to tell them to have compassion for animals? 📸 @morgancarrphotography

Too soon to #flashbackfriday to last Friday?!? 🍷
I get asked a lot if I consume alcohol. When I’m in off- season, yes. I love wine or vodka soda-waters with lemon. I am not a fan of beer because the yeast hurts my stomach, and I cannot take shots or I die🤮 
But if I’m at a nice dinner or with friends, I will partake in a glass of wine. 
How do I still reach my goals and consume alcohol? I eat super clean all day if I know I’m going out. I will drink water in between to stay hydrated. I try not to drink on week-nights. & I track my alcohol the best I can to have an awareness of how many liquid calories I’m consuming. .

Flexible Dieting is amazing because you can be FLEXIBLE. 80% clean, 20% fun. For me, wine is fun! .

We visited the product store today. It’s a place all of their products are showcased in a practical way. So Manny washed his face with one of their face wash. Lol. All the oils are showcased and available to smell or apply. Manny went straight to Melissa and poured it on him 😂 Melissa Oil is the priciest oil. This is so much fun! Definitely recommend to join me next year. You can come as a wellness advocate or as a customer. It’s just a place to learn more.

Happy Wednesday! How many days a week do you exercise? It’s best to hit each muscle group at least 3 times a week, so I recommend 4-5 days a week of strength training and at least 3-5 days a week of cardio for optimal results. 
The way I put it for clients: if you only work out 1-2 days a week and then eat really bad all weekend, you’re basically canceling out those calories over the weekend... hello #plateau ... You need to be in a calorie deficit and training CONSISTENTLY. 
Yes, have a cheat meal, but also eat clean 80-90% of the time with frequent exercise to actually see results/fat loss.

Helt ok hold af back lever, og sluttede lige det isometriske arbejde med en straddle front lever (væggen er for tæt på til at strække ben og fødder). Helt uden at træne disse to øvelser som hele bevægelser og hverken laver isometrisk arbejde i mine træninger kan jeg stadig holde disse to uden problemer. Det kan betale sig at træne smart og ikke unødvendigt hårdt 😊💪

Last year when I decided to start competing, I never knew where it would take me. I didn’t expect to be hooked or fall in love with the sport. I just wanted to be better. 
Last fall was freaking incredible for me. I landed a spread in a magazine, competed and placed in two competitions, and was the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. On cloud 9! ☁️
Since these moments, I’ve been wanting to grind my ass off and keep getting better and better. Right now I am the busiest I’ve ever been with my business, and I couldn’t be more thankful. 
Last fall was the fuel I needed for my fire. I am so motivated and excited for where life is taking me and my business. I just want to help people and I’m finding more outlets to do so. .

1. Train them 2-4x per week
2. The primary exercises should always include heavy lifting and a 8-10 rep range
3. The secondary exercises should focus on isolating the bis or tris and be in the 10-15 rep range
4. Periodize your arm training techniques to avoid plateaus

Well at least it's back to #bulking 🕺
But that don't mean it's time to stuff your face with food until you can't see.

Here's a few tips to help with your bulk:
-Stick to a Small Calorie Surplus:
Aim for a 250 calorie surplus a day at the start of your bulk and slowing increase from there as you see fit. If you are gaining more than 1 lb of body weight a week you are probably just getting fat.
-Eat Plenty of Protein to Bulk Up:
Aim for at least your body weight in grams per day.
-Meal Timing:
Eat your calories around your workout window. For example a 180 lb guy should be eating a 600 calorie meal before his workout and a 500 call meal after his workout. Then the rest of the days meals should be made up of smaller 250-300 cal meals.
-Do Cardio While You Bulk:
Just because your bulking don't mean you should give your heart a rest. That's a muscle too remember. Doing cardio will help with muscular endurance and stamina which translates to better training sessions, more gains and less bodyfat.
