We’ve all been there right?☝🏼😂 With silly season around the corner I wanted to touch on why all good things need to be enjoyed in moderation. ⠀
We can’t be perfect 100% of the time, and that’s just a part of life. You can apply this to your nutrition too — you are allowed to have an indulgence once in a while. 🍫 Just try to make sure that it’s not all the time or turns into a complete binge.⠀
Here’s a few things that I do and that you can do too to keep some balance👇🏼⠀
🌱 I like to follow the 80/20 rule: eating healthy 80% and then for the other 20% don’t worry about it so much.⠀
📲 Download and use apps to help you track what foods you are eating like @argusapp or @myfitnesspal.⠀
🍴When eating out try to avoid adding extra salt, consider getting the grilled or steamed options, swap chips for vegetables or a salad, limit over-sweetened dishes, and opt for wholegrain over white bread. ⠀
It’s all about moderation! 🥗🍦Remember, food is meant to be enjoyed! ⠀

Altough I am not a fan of the slide left pictures, I can't help but smile at the cuteness and innocence of these cows! 🐄
This just reminds me that these animals are living and breathing, with character and emotion, and are not to be mistreated or taken for granted. ❤️❤️
This farm is a dairy farm located at @rotterdamboutiquehotel in #swellendam , and I was very impressed at the happiness of these cows and the love the owners have for them (and yes I did grill them with 1000 questions about their happiness). These cows live in a huge field of fresh long grass, grazing all day with so much freedom, with shade and shelter and water. They walk around the farm as they please and are lovely to visit and say hello!
A moment of vulnerability - I often find myself in tears when driving into the farm areas, about how these and many other farm animals are disregarded. Left outside in the blazing heat with no shade, in the pouring rain with no shelter... You can see the distress and torture they go through each and every day being trapped in these fences created by humans.
This was a rare moment that sometimes, people do get it right and really do love and look after their animals like their own children. ❤️❤️❤️

In a wok sauté garlic, ginger, carrots, broccoli, lima beans, peas, and white onion in sesame oil. Meanwhile, cook jasmine white rice. Once the vegetables are fully cooked and crispy, toss in the rice and stir until fully combined. On high heat, stir in pure maple syrup and soy sauce! The star is the CRISPY BAKED TEMPEH marinated in a delicious SWEET & STICKY PRUNE SAUCE made with California prunes, great for this recipe because they're naturally sweet and contain no added sugar ✔ And, did you know prunes are one of the best foods for bone health? .
Tempeh (or fermented soybeans) is rich in isoflavones and also a good source of minerals like calcium and copper that play an important role in the growth and maintenance of bones. .
Served it with bok choy sautéed in sesame oil with garlic and fresh ginger, tamari, and a dash of coconut nectar, baked sweet potatoes, and a side of soba (buckwheat) noodles, cooked and then tossed in the remainder of the bok choy sauce. Finished it off with sesame seeds for an added crunch and amazing health benefits. .
Prunes, bok choy, sweet potatoes, buckwheat, and sesame seeds can all work wonders when it comes to bone health. They’re rich in vitamins like K, D, A and minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorous, manganese, copper, magnesium, and zinc, which contribute to building and maintaining bone structure and strength. .

Sauté onions, peppers, cherry tomatoes, mushroom, minced parsley, and spinach in olive oil on a pan. Once golden brown, add some water, nutritional yeast, black pepper, and himalayan pink salt. Let it simmer on medium heat. Meanwhile, take a wrap and place two slices of @followyourheart provolone cheese. Place it in the oven on broil for about 1-2 minutes until wrap is still soft and cheese is melted.
Then, place the vegetables into the wrap, along with some fresh slices of avocado. Roll up the wrap and serve!
On the side we oven-roasted potatoes with onions in olive oil 😋

Have you tried the NEW dairy free greek white cheese from @woolworths_sa? So my non-vegan friends say it tastes like goats cheese. I wouldn’t know coz I never had goats cheese before going vegan. To me, it tastes like a creamy cheese, not exactly like I remember feta but still really good. I have been adding it to my salads. Any ideas for how else I can use it? This pasta was my quick fix to a very late dinner for a starving boyfriend and the best left over lunch for the office. Easy, Vegan and delicious.
1 chopped onion
Minced garlic (I used a mix of garlic, dahnia and ginger)
2 x Tiny tomato paste tins
Chopped mushrooms( depending on your affection for mushies)
Fry up and add,
1 punnet of cherry tomatoes, halved. Cook until the tomatoes are squishy and the skins wrinkle.
Add 2 cups of veg stock and 400ml- 600ml of plant milk. I used 1 tin of coconut milk😍🥥
Add pasta, I just used my discretion until it was just covered.
