This question has been all over social media recently and I thought I would answer it.🙋
Simply put, absolutely yes- an avocado is a fruit (it has a stone) and like all fruits, they are vegan. 😂🤦
However, the debate comes from an episode of QI that aired a couple of days ago. Apparently avocados couldn't exist in the quantity they do now without bees, and an unnatural process where bees are transported on the back of a lorry to avocado, almond and melon crops in order to pollinate them takes place. 🐝🍯
I think this argument goes back to mass farming and the idea that it's rather impossible for a person to be 100% vegan because pesticides are used to grow plants, so insects have most likely died in order to grow your food. And don't get me started on the Palm oil debacle🍇🍈🍉🍊🍊🍋🍌🍍
Despite this, avocados are still vegan and I read this practice mainly takes place in California, I buy locally sourced fruit and veg anyway so I will continue filling my belly with delicious avo's. 🥑
These arguments always seem to arise from meat eaters, isn't it enough we're trying to spare animals from harm AND save the planet from climate change?? There's always some loop hole they seem to find to demonise us or undermine us! 🌍 
If you're eating as kind as you can, making an effort then you're doing a fantastic job and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! ✌️☮️🍑🏳️

Bowl full of the good stuff, with tofu as the star of the show🕺
I have come to really love tofu since being vegan, it was a real grower on me! My fave is @tofooco extra firm and I coat it in cornflour before frying to give it a crispy skin. Tofu is a great source of protein, calcium and iron as well as lots of other vits and minerals 💪

In my bowl: ✔️firm tofu mixed with cornflour and then fried ✔️cooked lentils mixed with tsp of following spices - curry powder, chilli, cumin, garam masala, onion granules, garlic powder, turmeric ✔️tinned chickpeas cooked and drained then mixed with tsp nigella seeds, tsp paprika ✔️tomatoes ✔️avocado ✔️roasted butternut squash and peppers (15 mins, 200 degrees) ✔️black olives ✔️spinach ✔️fresh basil ✔️spring onions ✔️sesame seeds

My best friend, Duck, eats a vegan diet, too!

Although there are plenty of acceptable vegan kibble brands out there ( @naturalbalanceinc @halopets for example), I eventually began feeding little Duck fresh food.

Her daily meal base is a blend of quinoa and lentils, and with that she eats a HUGE variety of other foods:
>> Fruit: bananas, berries, avocado (it’s a myth that dogs can’t eat avocado!), etc.
>> Veg: green peas, spinach, sweet potatoes, broccoli, etc.
>> Fats: peanut butter, coconut oil, flaxseed oil, etc. ***sidenote: I took this photo last week when Duck came to the gym with me and she crawled right up onto the towels 😂😍

The last photo is of my dinner, sweet potato, lettuce, cucumber and home made oil free chickpea hummus.  It's much less than what I'd normally eat, but that's all I had in the fridge and was heading out for a massage so I couldn't be too stuffed lying on my belly.

41.7kg today. Not so authentic Thai style papaya salad with Jasmine rice and green peas. Nice and sweet and spicy. I used soy sauce instead of fish sauce. Loaded with vitamin c and other goods like potassium, iron, lycopene, vitamins k and b-6 and the list goes on. There's plenty of protein from the peas and peanuts, along with complex carbs, fiber, and healthy fats. Lots of colors means lots of nutrients. I finally remade a recipe!
(I lie... this isn't the first time. My mac n cheeze gets a good run in the kitchen)

I had no seitan so I used @lindamccartneyfoods sausages which come in a plastic free box!

Not quite zero waste but sometimes it's about making simple convenient choices that are as sustainable as possible ❤

I’ve been feeling under the weather with a cold over the weekend so I put together a soup! There’s a little spice in there for my sore throat 😋

1 bag of frozen peas + carrots
1 bag of frozen broccoli
1 bag of frozen green beans
1 yellow bell pepper
3 leaves of kale chopped
1 cup of dry quinoa
1 cup of dried lentils
1 quart of vegetable stock
1 32oz can of diced tomatoes —> fill can with water then add
1 TBSP dried basil
1 TBSP garlic and black pepper
1 TBSP cumin
1 TBSP oregano
1 TBSP chili powder
2 TBSP curry powder

Set on high in the crockpot for 3-4 hours (it’s a lot of soup, so it takes awhile!)
Serve with green onion and nutritional yeast!

Total servings: 1
-1 serving of carbs
-1 serving of veggies
-1 serving of healthy fats
-1 serving of fribrous protein
•
Ingredients
•1 small sweet potato (around 1/2 cup).
•1/2 cup of your favorite meatless chilli.
•1 cup of baby spinach spring mix or the leafy green of your preference.
•
Dressing:
•1 Tbsp of tahini.
•1 Tbsp hemp heart seeds.
•1 Tbsp of coconut aminos or low-sodium tamari.
•1 Tbsp of saukernut.
•1 tsp of Apple cider vinegar or lime.
•1 sacket of stevia or, 1 and 1/4 teaspoons of pure maple syrup.
•1/2 tsp of siriacha sauce.
•1/2 to 1 garlic clove.
•1/2 tsp of turmeric.
•1/8 tsp ground black pepper or few twists to your liking.
•1/2 tsp of freshly grated ginger or 1 tsp of ground ginger .
•
Directions:
•Cut your sweet potato in wedges or slices and Airfy for 15 to 20 min.
•Heat your favorite chilli in a saucepan over low-medium until heated through.
•Blend all the sauce ingredients on a high-power blender or food processor.
•Serve it by putting the cup of spinach or greens, first on a bowl followed by the sweet potato chips andthe chilli. Drizzle the sauce on top and enjoy! 😁🥗

Enjoying the last batch of my chocolate rawnola with this rich creamy homemade cashew milk. Homemade cashew milk is seriously the easiest milk to make. It doesn’t require any straining like most nut milks so. It’s even better if you have a high powered blender like the vitamix. ⠀
For a single batch, I typically soak 1 cup raw cashew milk in 2 1/2 cups clean water for a couple of minutes - an hour. And then blend on high for a minute or so. This batch will last you about 3-5 days.⠀

Works very well for cereals, recipes requiring heavy creams and other recipes that require full fat milk.⠀

Creamy Polenta with Mushrooms and Spinach🌱

Polenta (Basic Recipe):
- 1 cup polenta (150 g)
- 3/4 cup coconut milk (200 ml)
- 1 1/4 cup vegetable broth (300 ml)
- 2-3 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes or vegan parmesan cheese.
➖
Mushroom Spinach Topping:
- 1 tbsp olive oil or coconut oil
- 1 onion sliced
- 200g sliced mushrooms (200 g)
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1-2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cups spinach roughly chopped
- 2-3 tbsp pine nuts 
METHOD
Polenta:
Bring coconut milk and vegetable broth to a boil in a pot. Stir in polenta by using a whisk.
Reduce heat to a low simmer and continue to whisk for 1-2 minutes to avoid lumps.
Then cover and let simmer for about 10 minutes (or according packaging instructions), stirring occasionally. (If the polenta thickens too much you can add additional milk and/or water and stir to thin.)
Once the Polenta is creamy and smooth, remove from the stovetop. Add nutritional yeast or vegan parmesan and stir.

Mushroom Spinach Topping:
Heat oil in a pan. Add mushrooms along with onions and fry for about 3 minutes on high heat or until beginning to get golden-brown.
Add minced garlic and roast for 30 seconds longer. Then add soy sauce and spinach and cook for 1-2 minutes or until spinach is wilted. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add a splash of fresh lime juice, if you like.
Toast pine nuts in a small pan without oil until lightly browned.
Serve polenta with mushrooms, spinach and pine nuts.

Voy a empezar una nueva sección que quiero llamar... ¡Bueno, vegano, barato y rápido! 🙌
Naa aún no he pensado ningún nombre para ella pero la idea es enseñaros comidas sabrosas, súper fáciles y bastante rápidas para esos días que llegamos agotados pero no queremos comer un simple revuelto. .
Empiezo la sección con ➡️ estos garbanzos con espinacas listos en 15 minutos. ¿El secreto? Una despensa bien surtida:
- Un bote de garbanzos pedrosillanos
- Unas espinacas (frescas o congeladas)
- Unas cuantas especias (comino, pimentón, pimienta negra, laurel, ajo, un poquiiito de canela, más pimentón, más comino y algo de orégano)
 Todo esto lo añadimos a una olla con una cucharada de AOVE y lo dejamos reposar unos minutos.

Otra opción más sencilla aún es comprar el típico bote de garbanzos con espinacas y añadirle las especias👀

Voy a empezar una nueva sección que quiero llamar... ¡Bueno, vegano, barato y rápido! 🙌 Naa aún no he pensado ningún nombre para ella pero la idea es enseñaros comidas sabrosas, súper fáciles y bastante rápidas para esos días que llegamos agotados pero no queremos comer un simple revuelto. . Empiezo la sección con ➡️ estos garbanzos con espinacas listos en 15 minutos. ¿El secreto? Una despensa bien surtida: - Un bote de garbanzos pedrosillanos - Unas espinacas (frescas o congeladas) - Unas cuantas especias (comino, pimentón, pimienta negra, laurel, ajo, un poquiiito de canela, más pimentón, más comino y algo de orégano) Todo esto lo añadimos a una olla con una cucharada de AOVE y lo dejamos reposar unos minutos. .
