В среднем порция фруктов – это 1 большой плод или 2 среднего размера. 🔸Когда хочется соленого. Если хочется соленых продуктов, то организм страдает от нехватки хлоридов. Для того чтобы восполнить их нехватку, на постоянной основе начать приправлять салаты нерафинированной морской солью. 🔸Когда хочется кислого. Возможно, в вашем рационе преобладают трудноусваиваемые продукты, и организм для облегчения своей работы пытается повысить кислотность желудочного сока. При простуде вас тоже может потянуть на кислые фрукты и ягоды – отличный источник витамина С. Выбирайте блюда с умеренным содержанием жира и не смешивайте много продуктов в один присест. Happy official first day of Fall🍁! This is my favorite time of the year... and sadly is the shortest season where I live so I gotta savor every minute. Today's dinner was split pea soup with broccoli & and apple harvest salad.  Bring on cooler days, comfort foods, and pumpkin spice everything!

I am very, very proud of myself right now. I mean, I feel really good about what I am doing for my body at this moment. I have been aware of the fact that my diet has been unbalanced lately due to not wanting to commit to cooking, and just grazing, which is so much easier for me. (Vata dosha! And yeeess, it’s warmed!arielarose 😉) I made a pot of lentils and rice for my vegan dog, and then, I decided that I would fix a ball for myself, with some raisins, Thai peanut sauce, and a touch of Ginger, cardamon, and fire roasted salsa I got from the farmers market the other day. Yummy! Now, I will sit and watch Wentworth, because, hey, it’s much easier for me to eat whilst distracted. BASE INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup macadamia nuts
1/4 cup shredded coconut 
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 Tbsp maple syrup 
1 tsp raw cashew butter
1/4 tsp coconut oil, melted 
Pinch of pink Himalayan salt
FILLING INGREDIENTS (for 3 cupcakes)
3 cups cashews, soaked for 6h
1 cup coconut milk (homemade)*
3 Tbsp maple syrup 
1/2 cup raw cacao butter, melted 
2 tsp blue matcha powder
1 tsp pure vanilla extract 
1/4 tsp pink Himalayan salt

METHOD:
1.Process base ingredients until a loose dough forms.
2.Scoop dough into your muffin or cheesecake pan and firmly press down with fingers (I used silicone molds)
3.Let sit in the freezer until firm up.
4.To prepare filling, add drained & rinsed cashews, coconut milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt to your blender and blend until very smooth.
5.Add blue matcha powder and blend again.
6.Stream melted cacao butter (make sure it's at room temperature) 
7.Pour filling over bases (save some in a bowl, adding more matcha until you get the color you like, and refrigerate until needed for decoration)
8.Tap the mold a few times, cover, and freeze for at least 3h.
9.Remove the cupcakes from the mold and let rest for in the fridge for 1h.
10.Dust with raspberry powder and pipe reserved filling as desired.
*To prepare your own coconut milk blend 1 cup shredded coconut with 1 + 1/2 cup water and strain mixture through a nut milk bag.

Usually its me... but today little Miss is an emotional mess and launched herself in a bawling heap onto the  bed. Ingredients⠀
8 oz baby portabella mushrooms⠀
4 cup fresh spinach leaves⠀
1/2 cup vegan mozzarella cheese ⠀
1/2 tsp ground cumin⠀
pinch salt⠀
1/2 cup coconut oil (for frying)⠀
white corn tortillas⠀
1-2 avocados⠀
fresh cilantro (for garnishing)⠀
1 lime (for garnishing)⠀
⠀
Method:⠀
In a large cast iron skillet, add the mushrooms and sautee over medium heat with a little coconut oil for a few minutes to soften them⠀
Add the spinach, cumin, salt, and mozzarella- stir to combine and let that sautee stirring occasionally until the spinach leaves are wilted⠀
Heat your corn tortillas in the microwave for about 20 seconds or until they are soft (this makes them easier to roll)⠀
Place your filling in a bowl, clean the skillet out and then heat it again with 1/2 cup coconut oil over medium heat⠀
Fill each tortilla with 1/2-1 tablespoon of filling off center and spread to the edges of the tortilla⠀
Tightly roll the tortilla around the filling and if desired, fasten with a toothpick to hold it closed⠀
Make 4 of these and then place them in the oil to fry 2-3 minutes. As these are frying, make your next 4. You will flip them over to the other side and fry for another couple minutes⠀
** NOTE: watch closely so they don't burn!⠀
When you take them out of the skillet, place them on a paper towel lined plate⠀
Garnish your taquitos with fresh cilantro leave, avocado, and lime juice. Serve with salsa and your favorite vegan nacho cheese sauce. Enjoy!

So happy that fall is here. 🍁 I came back from a 13-mile run. I love running... I do. But sometimes, not every workout is the best. Today was one of those days. In a way, I think they’re a necessary part of the process. You have to make the decision push through, even if it means shuffling your feet and running an 11-minute mile towards the end. 🏃🏻‍♀️

By the time I returned, pain radiated through my lower back and I was quite dizzy. That usually doesn’t happen, so I’m giving my body extra TLC after this workout.

In other news, I got new kicks! It is recommended to change your shoes every 600 miles or so. I racked up well over 2,000 miles on the other pair. 😅 (But hey, they went around the world with me.) These are the Ravenna 7 model by @brooksrunning. I’ve been running with the Ravenna model for nearly 10 years now, and never got the shin splints ever again after making the switch. ❤️👟

This is the Mu Ren (wooden man) of Ba Gua Zhang (eight trigram palms). Does anyone know what Acupuncture point I was drawing ideograms of? 
Tip, It’s one we strike for strengthening tendons. 
This is a medical system from internal art Ba Gua Zhang and is older than Wing Chun as it’s from Zhao Dong lineage and a legacy of the Kwok Family system.

First I swell my arms with strength from the gada, then I massage several acupuncture points of my forearms on the wooden dummy as trigger point therapy.

Welcoming the first day of fall with my veggie herb soup! 🍁This soup was inspired by making a variety of herbs the star of the show and utilizing the ingredients I had on hand to “accessorize”. Seriously so easy and it’s totally encouraged to customize to your liking! .

I always start soups with sautéing garlic, onion, carrot and celery. From there I added tomatoes, potatoes, white beans and veggie broth. I let that cook for a bit and then added any veggies I had on hand (squash, romanesco broccoli, corn etc) and a TON of fresh and dried herbs like: thyme, rosemary, herbs de provence, basil, oregano, and sage. I added a few handfuls of baby pasta last (so they don’t over cook). Salt and pepper to taste, serve and enjoy!
