My first time ever having mochi in the form of a HOT and FRESH donut!! 🍩🔥 Made with taro which along with ube needs to be in more desserts everywhere ☝️ I was blown away, the contrast bw the crispy exterior and the chewy interior, the hot sugar granules, the sweet taro flavor 🤯🤯🤯 Plus the fun sensation of handling mold-able mochi. Hopefully @alimama.nyc can add more vegan options to their menu 🙏 Thanks to @veganeatsnyc and @asianvegangang for leading us here!

💜Today is my 2 year “anniversary” of being diagnosed with lupus. 💜 I left the doctor’s office 2 years ago today with a medication prescription in my hand thinking that my life as I knew it was over forever (I know that sounds dramatic but is so true). Well, today I am completely medication-free and symptom-free from eating plant-based foods. I can’t begin to describe how empowering it feels to have control over my own health and well-being. I love the foods I eat, and I never feel deprived. I no longer experience cravings, tiredness after eating, or pain. I don’t count calories, fat grams, or carbs. It’s the most freeing feeling in the world. 😊

, @lilkimthevegan & @eatplants.behappy I had a family member who doesn’t talk to me anymore say this exact thing because I used the words dead animals instead of meat and she said it offended her. People don’t want to hear the truth. They enjoy living in their comfortable world of lies. Why spare our eyes the sight of the suffering we cause another living being? Or our ears the truth? ・・・
My 5 year old asked me the other day, “mom, why do they call it meat and not dead animals?” Before I could reply, he added, “I think it’s because if they call it meat people will eat it and not think about the animals. If they call it dead animals then people won’t want to eat the animals.” Yes baby. Yes yes yes! Why is this so simple for a young child to understand and so difficult for adults to understand?
The older we get the longer we have been conditioned, and the more our daily habits become ingrained in us. After so many years of propaganda “meat for protein” “milk for calcium” we have a hard time seeing the truth for what it is. This is cognitive dissonance.
There is absolutely no nutritional need to kill and eat animals. And we are in fact, not baby cows. Milk is for babies. Cows milk is for baby cows. You can live without that steak, bacon, or chicken wings. The animals cannot. They value their lives more than you will ever value their death.
Please stop contributing to such cruel industries. There is no justifiable reason to continue. Once we stop the demand for these products, the industries will have to stop the supply. This is how supply and demand works. Your dollar is your vote. Do you choose compassion, or cruelty?🌱

Animal activists like @jamesaspey are helping our world make the connection! Help us end animal suffering in our generation by sharing this message! No blood or killing* #Repost @jamesaspey with @get_repost “When you buy animal products you are paying someone else to kill animals like these 3 babies for you. In court, that would make you equally responsible for the killing. So imagine if you were the one who had to take the knife and plunge into into their bodies, or hold the electrocuting device in place on either side of their skull, or lock them inside the chamber then turn the gas on. It would be hard, at best. Most of us couldn’t even do it and if there was another option we’d much prefer to just eat something else. Good news! There is another option, and we can eat something else. We’ll likely live longer, healthier lives because of it, getting adequate protein, iron, and everything necessary for optimal health. Imagine every time you buy, they die. Leave animal products on the shelves and choose the plant based alternative. Milks, cheeses, ice cream, chocolate, meats, breads, pastas, butter, there’s a vegan version of just about everything at the same store many of us already shop at!”
The only thing I “feared” about leaving Melbourne, was honestly leaving all its delicious VEGAN food 🤪🤣
I know it’s still early days being only three weeks or so deep, but the lack of Vegan dining here has meant preparing food at home ritualistically and it’s been such a grounding treat! I’ve found an amazing local produce company here that deliver seasonal fruits and veg each week to our door, which sparks inspiration in diversifying each and every meal! Today I prepared a VEGAN ramen with some fresh Kelp I harvested from Binalong Bay and some dried Shiitake mushrooms. I then puréed up some shichimi and sesame marinated roasted sweet potato, eggplant and garlic... I didn’t have any miso on hand so it substituted as the perfect creamy texture to perfect a full bodied ramen soup base YUMMMM 🍠🍆
