“What’s the one thing you wish you knew at 18?”
I asked that question on my Instagram story 2 nights ago.
I had a ton of fascinating answers come through and then a lady asked the question back to me.
I replied “I wish I knew that the way out of suffering is to go into the suffering”.
I wish at 18 I knew that to heal my relationship with money was to feel the pain and embarrassment of not having any money growing up.
I wish I knew that to heal the patterns that sabotage relationships I enter was to feel the hurt and heart break of getting hurt by other girls I fell for that would sleep with other dudes behind my back.
I wish I knew that to be able to confidently speak up and use my voice was to go back in time and feel the suffering of being bullied and super shy & getting called ‘Mute Cama’ instead of my real name.
So if I could go back in time, that’s what I would say to my 18 year old me.
What would you say? 👇

You know how sometimes spouses do things on purpose just to annoy each other? My husband’s pet peeve is when I transport my gym equipment to various other locations in the house that are not the gym. So naturally I like to lug my weights upstairs from the basement and leave them all over the floor for him to trip and stub his toe on. Get’s him every time. 🙌🏼
Little bowl of healthy happiness! 🤗❤️💜💛🍓🍽

Ho smesso di provare a replicare i miei piatti preferiti senza burro, senza sale, senza zucchero, senza olio, senza glutine, senza latticini, senza niente.
No, no.
Preferisco i sapori semplici. I piatti semplici.

Do you eat meat?
That question. Again.
But this month I’m celebrating one decade of being #vegetarian . 🌱
Yep, since October 2008, I’ve spent the past ten years of my life without eating meat.
I know it’s a bit of a stereotype that ‘yogis’ are vegetarians, but I actually stopped eating meat before I started practicing yoga. Yoga came into my life shortly afterwards, but taking an interest in nutrition, my health, and the health of the planet was actually my first step towards living a healthier more sustainable life.
To clarify, I’m just a vegetarian; I’ve tried being vegan a few times but I’ve found that it’s not what works for my body, and so in the end I eat eggs, occasionally cheese, and I don’t drink regular milk but I do make homemade #kefir with fresh organic milk which I would never give up. Sorry, vegans.
My main reason for not eating meat is sustainability. In general, cows - more than anything - consume a TON of food and water, and create a TON of waste - gases and byproduct - just to create a small quantity of meat.
As if there were an excess of food, water, and space in the world to give to cows (instead of other people) just so the first world can eat meat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 🙄
Then comes the whole problem with growth hormones, how animals are being treated, the unethical slaughtering - this is where #ahimsa (non violence) from the yogis comes in.
Think, too, that there is a total disconnection from the actual meat industry and the nicely prepared meat package you buy in the grocery store.
I wouldn’t be capable of going to a cow, a pig, a goat, or a dog -Naitra- what’s the difference really?!? - and slaughtering it for food.
I’m not saying everyone needs to be vegetarian, but a more conscious consumption is a good start.
This is such a small space to talk about a big topic that I’m so passionate about, but would you like to know more?
About my experience, the transition, energy levels, what do I eat instead, etc etc?
Let me know and I’m happy to share.
How cool is this mural?

Shameless mirror posing because was so happy to be just 0.6lb off my "happy weight" this morning
✌That's the weight I am happy to see on the scales- to me it's not too lean, not too curvy. I didn't know if it would be realistic for me to reach & maintain post-surgery, but I feel great!
👌I've lost 8lbs without starving or hurting myself, I have so much energy and now I feel like I actually understand my body (& #metabolism ) thanks to @thesculptedvegan and the #sv4weekshred 💪Next week I'll get my body composition tested, to check I'm on the right track for reducing body fat and keeping my lean muscle mass, and I'll keep building those numbers back up on my squat, deadlift & bench
1 day of @thesculptedvegan 4 week shred to go. It's been awesome and I'll be doing it again very soon but oh boy am I looking forward to a few little treats in the week off before I do it all again.
I need to get in the kitchen next week and create some new recipes while I can taste test them 😂😃
