Arriving in France, 4 months after I was last here, and not being able to see a thing!
Hitchhiked the last little big of Andorra which saved a huge ballache, so that was a new experience!
Sooooo much downhill! Woohoo! 🚴🏽
Planned hiking day in Cinque Terre, Italy today. As you can see, gorgeous weather has returned. This is one of the coolest places I have ever been. its 5 towns along the coast all linked by trails (but some of the trails have been washed out by rain). Back on the bikes tomorrow!
Yesterday I felt so sleepy after my check up but I was glad to know that my fractures are quickly healing 💪🏻 I’ve also been thinking about a new name for this page because the one I have now it’s a bit too long 😅 do you have any suggestion? I was thinking about: pedalingalisa, cyclingalisa, cyclewithalisa, ridewithalisa, alisarides, alisalovesbikes, alisarider , alisavegrider ( yes, I’m pretty desperate and I’m trying to find other alternatives haha).
The answer to the biggest question of how to lose weight in a healthy way can be divided in two parts - first, you always need to burn more calories, than you consume. This is a rule, you can't get around it. And secondly, addressing the healthy part, you want caloric deficit to be coming from exercises and not the restrictive dieting. These two things are fundamental in my opinion in losing weight healthy, sustainably and then keeping your desired physique. For life.
sipping on a mango/pineapple/passionfruit smoothies after a sub 40 TT that Paul was pacing for Kristian.
its been almost a week here (oh my god time flies so fast) and I’m loving every single second here!!! I mean, the climbs, the mountains, the weather, fruit and food, awesome vegan crew, and most friendly people in wolrd- Thais. oh god, I’m so happy to be here.
Vegan Aloo Gobi Masala! Made this wonderful Indian dish for our anniversary dinner last night! It’s a mutual favorite ... we pretty much order it every time we have Indian cuisine out. And, when we were in Vienna recently, we had one of the best versions ever! I asked the secret ... caramelize the cauliflower first! Brilliant! Well, our anniversary was the perfect opportunity to test it out. And, yep ... it was amazing!! 🌱🍚🌱🍚🌱
The course was perfect for me.
The competition pushed me hard.
Popped my chain on the first lap thanks to not pre-riding the course.
Clawed my way into 4th starting the 2nd lap, then got to work.
Moved up each lap starting the 5th in the lead.
Kept repeating “don’t do anything stupid”. Did something stupid.
Punched my saddle a few times to get it rideable.
Put the chain on, again.
Ran the bike up the hill as the chasers were closing in.
Rode hard to the finish line.
Made it to the parking lot to dry heave.
Damn, cross is fun 😝
Besides an actual blood bag transfusion for breakfast, I can’t think of a more effective morning routine that will increase my power on the bike. It fuels the training required to reach my fitness potential, along with the nutrients to meet my body’s requirements when generating more, healthy red blood cells that will ultimately allow me to most efficiently transport oxygen to my muscles to push full gas watts for longer. 5w/kg FTP-longer. The key ingredient here is the fresh Spirulina (@purefoodsuk) perched as the king of this fruit mountain.
Thanks @caseysmith_realestate_photog for capturing the face of pain at last weeks Jax Urban Cyclocross Race. This is what 50 minutes of redlining looks like 😹💯📈Ready to do it again tomorrow.... kind of haha
Thanks to @championcycling1 for helping me build up a set of super light weight wheels with @stansnotubes rims. We shaved 1.3 lbs off my wheels alone and I could definitely feel the difference!
6 months on the road today!
I may be having a bit of a shit time at the mo but I'd rather be here doing this than at work! 😁
Also being forced to overcome any issue I have, without the possibility of phoning my dad for help or my mum to pick me up, makes you realise what you can do when you leave your comfort zone!
Still have absolutely zero regrets.
Onwards and upwards 🚲
Rained out in Bastía another day. This pic is from 2 days ago. It’s been a low key day. We still got up really early and had the big breakfast because we were hopeful we could ride but the radar looked rough so we decided not to risk it. The ride would have been super hilly and rain and wet roads + rim brakes were just not worth the risk. We did do some shopping and walking around in town. Tonight we head over to Italy and hopefully no rain tomorrow!
