I didn’t get to take any pictures of the food, but I am absolutely blown away by the food & service at @nicksongrand 🐮❤️ everything was incredible from the faux ‘pork belly’ to the sweet waitress helping us to the beautiful art show by @bjwanderlust & not to mention live music. I can’t wait to come back🤤🤤

We both used to struggle with really bad binge eating. There would be times when we would eat so much that it would result in us throwing up. I didn't realize how un-sexy soup is to photograph, without table-setting decorations around it, a cool bowl or spoon, or some kind of fancy-looking garnish... #notetoself ... but I'm going to share these anyway as a very important PSA: Garlic Bread-Grilled Cheese is no joke. Rod sent me a meme about it and I immediately jumped on the opportunity-- he didn't realize that I instantly plotted out the trajectory to a delicious victory. Yeah, it's incredible. The easiest way for me to make garlic bread is to toast bread and rub a fresh garlic clove all over each side, then I slathered the outsides with @miyokos_kitchen’s TO-DIE-FOR butter (mmmmm), sprinkled on dried parsley and oregano, added @violife_foods cheddar slices and sprinkled more herbs onto the cheese; all this happened on and between @rudisorganic bread. You'll thank me later.
The original idea came from a recipe by @sunnysidehanne for Creamy Tomato Soup Shooters with Mini Grilled Cheese Sandwiches 😆 A simple and incredibly delicious soup! And I have to hand it to @rabbitandwolves for inspiring me to use my immersion blender more. SO MUCH EASIER! Don't get me wrong, I adore my processor, but yeah, Lauren, you're right-- this is way quicker and cleans up in a jiffy 👏👏👏 All in all, I took @sunnysidehanne's concept and mashed it with a meme and grilled cheese will never be the same. Vegan food is seriously everywhere. Sometimes I do deliveries for a local florist and it takes me to random places. Sometimes I'm hungry on these drives and it's so easy to find somewhere with vegan food on the way that I can call in.
Whatever day this was, I was in Hazlet and down the road from @stewartsrootbeerhazlet, who has an amazing vegan menu! I got a vegan buffalo chick'n wrap with @gardein chick'n with curly fries and a side of @violife_foods cheese sauce. What a time to be alive.

The left picture was established in 2008. Believe it or not, this was the year I promised to focus getting back ON the wagon. One minor problem. I damn near broke the wheels off, when I fell.
The right picture was taken today. Juicing, fasting and living a raw vegan lifestyle. Feeling all the feels, from a completely sober and humble perspective.
To tell the truth, I don’t remember having much perspective as an alcoholic. I don’t remember much. What I do vividly remember is that little pizza bar down the street where we were guaranteed $2 pitchers of bud light on Tuesday’s. I remember $1 shots at the sports bar downtown, for Monday night football. I remember beers for breakfast. I remember my hair being glued to the floor, passed out in my living room, from my own vomit. I remember pretending to gamble in Vegas, for free drinks. When my friends cut me off (this was often) I remember my strategy was always (if I wasn’t too blacked out drunk) to stand by the bar and look flirty. It would never fail, a guy would offer to buy me a drink. I also remember that strategy failed me, when a guy spiked my drink and I woke up in the hospital, hooked up to IV’s. Even now, I look back at old pictures and don’t recognize or know the names of half the people I partied with. Or went home with...
I’m glad I remember, because I’ll always know that’s was never me. It was just a scared little girl who had retreated inside for a while. I was just on vacation from reality. We all take these vacations, the postcard just might look different, than our neighbors. Everyone is fighting their own little battles. Some aren’t ready to wage the war. Some face it head on! Some have battle wounds that run very deep. A sacred reminder to be kind to those around us. If someone is off, or acting crazy, or maybe just a bit rude...it’s not necessarily that they are at war with you. It’s more likely they are at war, with themselves! 🙌🏻🙏🏻🌟💫✨

Heute habe ich nämlich zum ersten Mal Basilikumsamen getestet. Sie sind die europäische Alternative zu Chiasamen und haben sehr ähnliche Eigenschaften. Allerdings finde ich, dass sie nach dem quellen etwas bissfester bleiben.
Veganism is actually more than just a diet, it’s an awakening. Animals Rights Activist @earthlinged explains it like this: “Going vegan doesn’t mean giving anything up, just no longer taking what was never ours to begin with.” Veganism is more about staying true to what we already believe, than about entirely changing the way we eat and live. For example, most people would agree that animal cruelty is wrong.
Naturally, we are compassionate creatures and we would never hurt animals like Cows or Pigs. Veganism means aligning your actions with your morals. WE ARE ALL VEGANS AT HEART. You don’t have to love animals to go Vegan, just imagining yourselves in their position is enough.
Ask yourself if you’d want to be treated the same way.
