I love being safe, comfortable, & free—& live in a way that can ensure that other individuals might feel that way, too. Being vegan means you give others the same consideration and respect you would want for yourself. #respectforallspecies
Boo and surprise from Canada aka my home (Vancouver-raised 🍁 and #proudlyCanadian hehe)
After two years abroad, I'm back visiting my sister's family for a 10 day vacation ❤️
First. Canada fruits are sooooo cheap and sweet
Second. My sister has a plum tree
Third. Ohmygod yay to avo toast and bluebs
So I'm super stoked to raid the supermarkets and try all the delicious vegan restaurants here 😍
If you're from Vancouver or have been, I'm open to all your suggestions ✍🏼👇🏼
💥Feeling hungry? These will help!💥
🦄Feeling hungry is not cool. Feeling satiated and energized is cool! (And being vegan is cool😎) Here are some things that will definitely help with the hunger!
🦖Drink water! Water actually stretches the stomach, which triggers satiety! Sparkling water fills you up even more! Unfortunately this effect is short-lived since water is quickly absorbed and your body is probably like:
„Yo don‘t trick me! I need real nutrients!“ 😂
You can also drink a big glass of water with your meals to make you feel even fuller.
🦋Fiber rich foods slow down the emptying of the stomach and delay the absorption of nutrients, keeping you fuller for longer! For vegans this is the easy part, because most plant-based foods are high in fiber!
🐳Foods high in protein are super key aswell! Protein affects the release of various appetite-regulating hormones such as leptin, increasing the feelings of fullness! Even better, because Lentils, Beans etc are high in protein AND in fiber 🤪 Win-win!
🐢High-intensity aerobic exercise actually affects the release of hunger hormones and can temporarily suppress hunger! This doesn‘t mean you should run into the gym when your stomach is growling, but maybe doin some light exercise at home or in the garden helps.
🐥Honorable mention: caffeine! But not everyone should rely on caffeine to regulate their hunger, so the things above are the better choice!
❗️TAG someone that could need this❗️
❓What is your go-to hunger blunting source❓
En zelen smoothie na dan odzene zdravnika stran. Se strinjaš? 🌱🥒🍌😋 ✔️dvigne nivo energije
✔️pomaga pri prebavi
✔️vsebuje velilo vlaknin
✔️krepi imunski sistem
✔️vsebujejo ogromno vitaminov in mineralov
10 Hydrating Fruits & Veggies🖕
Water is important—it makes up 50 to 70 percent of your body. Without it, the blood vessels that carry oxygen and nutrients from place to place would shrivel up like dry riverbeds. Your kidneys could not eliminate wastes, and you couldn't regulate your body temperature. If you were to add up all the water your body loses each day— as perspiration, urine, exhaled moisture, etc.—, it would be somewhere between 1 and 3 liters— that's the equivalent of losing between four and 13 8-ounce glasses of water every day.
To stay well hydrated, the U.S. government estimates that women need 2.7 liters (11 glasses) of water and men need 3.7 liters (16 glasses) each day. Sound like a lot? Here's why: The water your body needs does not have to come in glass after glass of drinking water.
A serving of broccoli, spinach, or similar vegetables and fruits contains a vast percentage of water.
Also don't forget the impact it does have on your skin.Relieving dry skin from the inside out may not be the first thing we think about when planning our meals, but just like the rest of our bodies, our skin needs certain nutrients to help heal and repair itself and keep itself in optimal condition. Healthy foods can not only keep you hydrated, but they can work on a cellular level to keep your skin smooth and supple.
So for all those purposes EAT your WATER!!!

Probiotics 🌿 Why do I take them and what are they good for? #IBSdiet
First off, I don't recommend taking antibiotics if it's not absolutely necessary. Yes, they can help remove the harmful strains causing you to be ill, but they also kill off the friendly flora in your system, causing inflammation, discomfort and illness. Additionally, diet and lifestyle changes play a huge role. When your diet is rich in processed foods and sugar, unfriendly yeasts like #Candida are given a reinforcing boost and can take over your digestive tract. Whether you experience digestive troubles or not, I highly recommend you to start a probiotic regimen. 👏🏽 The addition of extra bacterial strains to your body will not only reinforce your gut defenses, but it can also provide an overall boost to your health and well-being. Elixa is not just another probiotic with a different brand name. The dosage is 50x stronger than a conventional probiotic, it is comprised of multiple species which are all from the most heavily researched probiotic genera, Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, and it does not contain any hidden sugar, dairy, soy, yeast or gluten.

We’ve been pretty quiet this week.. but busy! Starting a business is time consuming and stressful. Amazing. But it takes effort 😅 Bags and business cards are in the mail which is a huge relief because then we can officially make this official! In the meantime, I’ve been “perfecting” rolls and party trays! Perfect for an event, gathering, or you know, eating alone while binging Netflix 🤘🏻 Stay updated on social media!!! 🥑💚
Spinach + Mushroom Taquitos by 💛 Recipe:⠀
8 oz baby portabella mushrooms⠀
4 cup fresh spinach leaves⠀
1/2 cup vegan mozzarella cheese ⠀
1/2 tsp ground cumin⠀
1/2 cup coconut oil (for frying)⠀
white corn tortillas⠀
fresh cilantro (for garnishing)⠀
1 lime (for garnishing)⠀
In a large cast iron skillet, add the mushrooms and sautee over medium heat with a little coconut oil for a few minutes to soften them⠀
Add the spinach, cumin, salt, and mozzarella- stir to combine and let that sautee stirring occasionally until the spinach leaves are wilted⠀
Heat your corn tortillas in the microwave for about 20 seconds or until they are soft (this makes them easier to roll)⠀
Place your filling in a bowl, clean the skillet out and then heat it again with 1/2 cup coconut oil over medium heat⠀
Fill each tortilla with 1/2-1 tablespoon of filling off center and spread to the edges of the tortilla⠀
Tightly roll the tortilla around the filling and if desired, fasten with a toothpick to hold it closed⠀
Make 4 of these and then place them in the oil to fry 2-3 minutes. As these are frying, make your next 4. You will flip them over to the other side and fry for another couple minutes⠀
** NOTE: watch closely so they don't burn!⠀
When you take them out of the skillet, place them on a paper towel lined plate⠀
Garnish your taquitos with fresh cilantro leave, avocado, and lime juice. Serve with salsa and your favorite vegan nacho cheese sauce. Enjoy!

Just made lunch lol (it’s after 4pm) in like 3 minutes!! Toasted some seeded awesomeness and then smothered in homemade garlic and tomato sauce, and artichokes! Oh and basil. Kind of pizza, kind of bruschetta, kind of just toast ... this little thing conquers all
Finally got to try @chilimustardonions ! It was probably some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had. We ordered the brush park (chik’n finger pita), the gyro, the big mock, and the soft serve with chocolate sauce! My favorite was definitely the gyro! It was so close to what I remember of the real thing! 🥙

What are your 4th of July plans? 🗽🎇🇺🇸
@imadetroit may be one of the most unique and innovative restaurants I’ve ever been too. The tofu tacos were absolutely delicious! I didn’t know edamame could taste the way it did! Next, the vegan tofu noodle bowl and golden curry rice were both to die for. Also they use paper straws! Go environmentally sustainable restaurants! 🍲
Stopped by @detroitwaterice today to cool off from the heat! On the left is the Swedish fish mixed with the cotton candy! On the right is the strawberry lemonade! Almost every flavor is vegan and it’s a charitable cause too! So no excuses not to try it!
Tonight we had an Indonesian feast at @indo_restaurant_mi ! The first picture was my personal favorite: the crispy garlic tofu! This is one of their best selling vegan dishes and now I know why! The next picture is the vegan fried rice. It was very sweet & savory at the same time! I loved it! The next picture is the tofu curry noodles. You have to like a sweet spicy curry taste in order to like this dish! If you’re a fan of sweet curry then you will love this! The next picture is the sweet and sour tofu which is another one of their best seller! It was absolutely delicious and the sauce was phenomenal! The final picture is the vegan “egg” rolls! They were a great way to start this great meal! This is a must try hidden gem!
We just had to go to @noshpitdetroit after tasting their delicious food at vegbash! The first picture is the Karen pesto grilled cheese (my Omni boyfriend says it’s the best vegan thing he’s ever tasted)! The second pic is the vegan mac and cheese which was also super delicious and crunchy! @noshpitdetroit is going to be seeing a lot more of us!
Second meal of vegbash 2018!!! The classic burger coney dog and fries with the shimmy dressing! I absolutely loved the coney dog and fries with the sauce! The burger was good but not even comparable to the coney! You must try it! 🍟
Another one of my favorite bubble tea places! Just a quick stop to detroit bubble tea to get my usual peach passion fruit with tapioca! My mom gets the strawberry lemonade slush with strawberry pearls! So many choices!
Tonight’s dinner was at @alemarysbeerhall ! In the first picture is the beyond burger with FYH cheese & veggies and then the vegan coney impossible chili dog! Both were really good, but the coney dog was my favorite! The second picture is the vegan buffalo cauliflower with the best vegan ranch I’ve ever had! Make a trip to @alemarysbeerhall ASAP! 🍻
Enjoying this beautiful day by eating @kakusushipoke outside! In my bowl is brown rice, vegan seaweed salad, avocado, tofu, cucumber, wakame, scallions, original sauce, and sesame seeds! Great if you love sushi or are looking for a refreshing summer meal! 🥢
If you’re looking for a tasty açaí bowl, no need to look any further! @cafesucco in Birmingham has the absolute tastiest açaí bowls! All of the bowls can be made vegan with almond milk or coconut milk! This is a great spot for a sweet brunch! 🌷
When it comes to Veganism, Ferndale MI is the way to go! Imperial is one of the most vegan friendly “omnivorous” restaurants I know! They always have a vegan taco option as well as a vegan sonoran veg dog that can be made vegan! Pictured is the tofu pickled cabbage taco and the vegetarian sonoran veg dog (made vegan) with corn salsa, beans, tomato, verde salsa, and jalapeño onion relish! PS all of the salsas are vegan! Enjoy! 🌞
