It's only 10:35am here in Perth, Western Australia and I've already seen so much upsetting footage of #farmanimals in #slaughterhouses and from the aftermath of #hurricaneflorence . I thought I'd share something cute and lighthearted for all of my fellow #animallovers to cheer others in a similar boat up a bit. Try to focus on all of the good you're doing for these beautiful babies and through leading a good example and promoting a #plantbased#crueltyfree and #veganlifestyle we will see a more compassionate, healthier planet 🌏💪🌱
I haven't introduced myself since my very first post & this will be my 100th, so it's probably overdue! I'm Courtney, owner & sole employee of BMK (although I do have some sweet friends who help me from time to time!). This business was dreamed up in my kitchen last December around a plate of buffalo cauliflower, my friend asked me what kind of black magic I did to make it taste so good & those words lit a little spark in my mind (thanks @ki_soulfood 😉). 5 months later I had my first Farmers market & have been going ever since!
Starting this business was a surprise to me, a little over 2 years ago I was working toward becoming a funeral director. That all changed when a distracted driver hit me on my way to work. The following year was endless appointments & constant pain. When I started having other health issues, I realized I needed to be more proactive about my health & that's when I decided to go plant based. The benefits didn't take long to appear, I began to lose weight effortlessly, my inflammation began to subside, all of my digestive issues went away. As I began my journey toward Veganism I began to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, I would get excited over what I was going to 'veganize' next. My favorites were desserts, I loved surprising people when I told them the decadent cupcake they we're eating was vegan or the mousse they had just enjoyed was made from avocados.
So that's how I ended up here. A love of our planet, animals, my health & of course FOOD all came together to create this business & I'm so excited to share it with you all ☺️

My order from @renovationcandlecompany arrived earlier this week, + I could not be happier with it! I’m not sure if this is the intended use, but I actually use the concentrated sprays as perfume. Gentleman was a touch too masculine, while Mediterranean Fig + Tobacco was a little too sweet. But together, they’re perfect! What I love is that the scent stays with me all day long. The soaps are also great since they do not dry out my already parched skin. Forest Oakmoss is my favorite of the three, while J prefers the Bergamot + Rose. Barbershop is a nice neutral scent that’ll live on the kitchen sink for hand washing. Why am I tell you all this? Because this is a VEGAN company! I can buy anything I want from this shop without asking questions or googling ingredients. I’ve found it very difficult to find quality vegan body sprays/perfumes, but this guy does it right. I also try to shop small when I can. RCC is a one man band, where every item is hand made by the owner especially for you. Pretty cool, huh? He always has something on sale or some kind of coupon code - go give ‘em a try!
