If we can give you a Vanlife tip: You should always have some lemonsin the van🍋! Some of you may wonder what lemons have to do with vanlife, so here's the answer: We spend the whole day outside and that can also mean that you spend the whole day at way over 20°C. In addition, the wind on the Atlantic coast often makes you underestimate the sun. It has happened to us a lot that after surfing or hiking we come to the van and feel very weak and tired, even if we drank several litres of water that day. A few years ago a lifeguard in Mauritius gave me a quartered lemon with salt to eat when I felt strange. He told me that the strong sun, salt water and heavy sweating can be an enormous burden on the electrolyte balance. Since then I often take this mixture and the effect is incredible: The acid taste of the lemon alone wakes you up, but a few minutes after eating it you notice that the salt and vitamins of the lemon make you feel better. However, citric acid is not particularly good for the teeth, so we recommend drinking water immediately afterwards. For Sophie it's sometimes too sour to eat a lemon, so she squeezes the juice into a glass, mixes it with salt and water and drinks her cocktail. If you always have lemons and salt with you, you can also equip yourself with a bottle of Tequila for other 'emergencies'🥃👷
Do you have any other tips on how to counteract dehydration or discomfort caused by too much sun? 🌞
✨WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER AS A TYPICAL VANLIFE STEREOTYPE?
The longer we´re on the road, the more we feel that the following ones are definitely high on the list of Vanlife stereotypes:
✔️DREAMCATCHER (you got to have one, AT LEAST one!)
✔️MAKING DREAMCATCHERS, MACRAMÉ OR JEWELRY WHILE ON THE ROAD
✔️HAVING A GUITAR OR ANOTHER INSTRUMENT ON BOARD (this doesn´t necessarily mean that one can actually play on it!)
✔️DOG (it seems that at one point on your journey, you gonna adopt one. It´s just a matter of time...)
✔️A SHOWER PIC ON INSTAGRAM (nowadays it´s very rare to find a profile WITHOUT a shower pic on our all beloved social platform!)
✔️FAIRY LIGHTS (you´re not a real vanlifer if you don´t switch on your fairy lights before settling in for the night!)
DID WE MISS ANYTHING? WHAT ELSE COMES TO YOUR MIND?

Remodeling the new Chinook van with a full kitchen, running water, and enough space to stand has got me thinking- Vanna, my love here, is essentially just a box with a bed inside. I’ve got no secondary power, no fridge, and zero standing space. Even still I can’t imagine parting with her at this point in my life. So much love and sentimental value! Which is great news for you guys! Because once I’m finished remodeling the Chinook I’ll be selling it to one of you all, for ‘drumroll’... $50! That’s right. I’ll be doing a raffle via Instagram so that I can gift a lucky someone (over 18 years of age in the US only) with their very own adventure mobile. Which is maybe the coolest thing ever.
I’m remodeling over the next couple of weeks and sharing the process with everyone via my stories. So if you haven’t yet, give me a follow and turn on push notifications so you don’t miss the action! Will you be driving her home? I hope you’ve got space in your driveway! #projectwaywardvan
Favourite time of day? Mine is Dusk, just before the light has gone from the sky. Last night I (Georgia) spent my evening walking around a field near our park up, picking blackberries which I had for breakfast today. When I was walking back to the van the sky was that milky blend of pink and blue and that's when I needed to capture our little home beneath it ⛅🌜
| England | Tag 2 □□♡□□□♡□□□♡•♡□□□♡□□□♡□□□ Hey!
Last two weeks have been jam packed with building, working, adventuring, making a mess, seeing family and friends and not much sleep.
I think I can say... with the exception of a tap, back window curtains and silicone around the top of the flue... Susan is done!!
Have been away the last few weekends to Devon and the Peak District, it definitely gave me a test run of what I needed in the van (bottom door cupboards to stop everything flying out!), somewhere to put clothes neatly, a book shelf, and something to keep me warm... All of which I have ticked off my list.. but it's never ending; painting here, a shelf there, a storage area here.. it honestly never ends.
Check out my blog to see how the log burner went together, how I fitted the doors without great big gaps and how I made the shelf.. Have a nosey.. Link in my bio .
