*Official* Day 1 in my A6 Stalogy and I am in love. I always felt like I needed a million extra notes pages in my planner “just in case.” And now having an extra place specifically for that, helps ease my anxiety. Thank you @smplans for sharing your genius method.🖤
The undone task list looks worse than it is 😂 The kids have stopped taking naps! Plenty of time for holiday crafts though. I started using a Hobonichi Weeks for homeschool* and am really enjoying it! Definitely too small for me to use for everything, especially with my lengthy notes in my daily entries. *My kids are 1.5 and almost four - it's basically a list of crafts, games, and books that relate to the letter we are currently focusing on. And a bit more, but I'll spare you all - for now 😆
Let's talk about storage. There's a reason everyone has this pouch. I just got it this week and am so satisfied with the size. Even my notebook fits inside, if I wanted it to. Thanks, @blushnblue and @samplans97 for sharing theirs! >>> All my stickers are in that manilla folder. Dashboards that I've used go in one of these perfectly sized containers. Most (ahem, most) of my page flags and sticky notes are in the other. I also have one with random, unorganized ephemera. Oops. >>> I use a 12x12 container from Michael's to store my current "projects" or dashboard ideas (paper, ephemera, stickers, etc) for the coming month (photo from November), stickers that haven't been absorbed into my collection, etc. It's not very full at all, but it let's me be messy without sacrificing my desk. In theory. >>> I finally broke down and got one of these washi storage containers last month. It is so nice to have my tapes corralled, organized, and easily accessible. And it's nice to get my clips out of the desk. They are somewhat safer from the toddlers in here! I'm not going to tag all the things, but feel free to ask about anything 🖤 Hope this helps answer the question for those who have asked!
One of those weeks with hours spent on the phone coordinating my daughter's medical needs. (She is well, no worries! Just new med and therapies.) It's nice to have some pretty details to rest my eyes on. 🍄
So excited that finally today starts #TravelersCompanyMadrid 😍✨💘
I’ve to go to italian lesson and to work afterwards, but I’ll try to run to the shop in the time between💪🏃🏻♀️
In the picture, my last week’s planners 📖
Time for weekly review. I like to start by looking at the past week's pages for any undone tasks. Either there shouldn't be any, or they should be at the top of the list for this week. (Of course there are some incomplete items!)
Steeping and shopping. If ever in Seattle, be sure to visit MarketSpice in Pike Market. Try the tea and buy some stocking stuffers. Then proceed to drink one of said stocking stuffers because your stash is empty. 🙈
Supposedly all these scribbles will result in a warm and tasty Thanksgiving meal around six tonight. I didn't burn the pie, so we're off to a good start! Just my little family of four plus two guests this year. Way easier than hosting last year's crowd of 18 and a whole turkey 🦃 - everyone is traveling/vacationing this year.
... Loving that these Plantasia and Planner Kate stickers coordinate. Two of my favorite shops!
Bills & Spending... yes, I asked Taylor to make this for me too! Bills on the left, sspending on the right. It is so wonderful to have crisp lines and not try to make this spread on dot grid every month. And no, I did not spend $170 on Hobonichi products, just transposed my numbers. 😅
Details for those interested and why we have multiple credit cards (don't do it for the credit!) ...I calculate spending category totals weekly or so. We just try to buy what we need, budget for fun, and only indulge occasionally. CCs are JUST for the points; we pay in full every month, if we use it. If you are young and reading this, avoid charging to a card if you can. Pay cash. Don't buy stupid crap. I can't possibly provide financial literacy here in one post, but we can be open and talk about it. I bought a lot of clothes, accessories, etc that were cheap and fast and too much Starbucks in college. I wish I could go back and teach myself the importance of saving and buying items with real longevity. Never to early to cultivate good habits! And I'm oozing financial privilege, I know, but if I can encourage new spending habits, that's a little good going out into the world.
Feels like Christmas around here... We picked up some greenery today & my custom Nomad TN is on the Van der Spek blog! The link is in my bio and has all the details, including pricing. I am so excited to share this with those who ask "how do I order one like yours?" The blog is far more reliable than my memory 😉 Thank you, Petra! @vdsshop
This quote... I could get deep here and talk about all the mental choices and thoughts we do within our own four walls. The voting we do with our dollars and likes. There's a reason I keep putting this back in my planner... But on a lighter note, I talked about my new tracking insert in my stories. Send me your questions and brilliant ideas 🖤
I’ve hadn’t wrote in my “3 Years Diary” for a week, so I’ve spread on the desk all my current planners to remember what I did😆
I am in love with these custom inserts from @paperandcats - everything I want to see on one spread for the month, and I didn't have to draw it! I think I'll have to make a video to explain all the details here. Or is it self-explanatory? The important thing is that they are working 🖤
So many planners and notebooks I love... However I think I made up my mind🤔
I feel really sorry when I buy a planner and am not using it. So this time I thought of their use seriously😆
A few changes here and there, and it feels like a new notebook... Swipe to see how I make my tabs. @carieharling inspired and she even has a YouTube video about it! Page flags from Post-It, trim the pink, add a label from old The Planner Society kit, and trim to preference. This month, I used a tape runner to adhere the cardstock tabs+labels to the Post-It flag. Moveable tabs ✅
When the beginning meets the end... My daily pages met my lists that start at the back of my notebook. Time for a new insert this week. (Sound on for paper enthusiasts!)
...this is a 160pg insert of Tomoe River Paper from @paperpenguinco in my @vdsshop custom Nomad TM Noir (standard size TN). Stickers are old @theplannersociety (thanks @aubrey.plans 🖤). Ink was mostly Noodler's Heart of Darkness in Lamy Safari EF. Dry hand slathered in lotion is my own.
😊👍🏻 #30mmrings
I went through all my old planners last night and really thought about what worked and what did not. And I went ahead and thought out loud and recorded it 😅 Up on YouTube now. Check out the description to skip to my Filofax personal set up, bullet journal in a Leuchtturm, etc. I do get questions about what I used before a standard TN and why I've stayed so long; those are answered here. And I've got some new ideas for 2019 - definitely staying in my Nomad and keeping my A5, just repurposing!
