do you ever feel like you’re hiding? 🙈
I thought I’d stopped hiding when I stopped wearing my prosthetic eye at the beginning of the year.
I may have stopped hiding behind the “shell”
but I was still hiding.
I just began using other things as my way of hiding.
scrolling through instagram. opting to go out & drink (or smoke weed) instead. WHATEVER IT WAS.
in a way, #vagabonding is another way I’m still hiding ...
my ego-mind’s pattern of defense kept me back.
kept me from not sharing what I know I’m meant to bring into this world.
not to mention, countless other ambitions.
if you feel like you’re hiding, it’s because YOU ARE.
I tell you that with all the love I possibly can ...
because let’s go ahead & admit it to ourselves.
we are ALL hiding in some way.
and it’s honestly because we’re scared.
which is as HUMAN as human can get.
our ego loves to keep us hidden away.
it's "protecting" us because that’s how it kept us alive thousands of years ago.
the key is the AWARENESS that it’s happening.
it wants to protect us.
because what would people think ...
if you owned the emotions inside you?
if you decided to really opened up about whatever your addiction is?
if you shared how differently you see your life in the future than what it is now?
WHAT IF you shared what your mind is telling you not to share but your heart is screaming at you to do the opposite?
come with me, it's time to stop hiding 🖤
We’ve been in Portland since Friday and have had a better time than we ever could have imagined! We started the weekend with a @pigeonsplaying show and spent the rest of our time with our new friends from the @nosimpleroad podcast.
Aaron, Mel, Apple and Ryder graciously opened their home to us, fed us incredible home cooked meals, and took on the role of family in a city where we don’t know a soul. It was a weekend of love, laughter and seamless conversation.... and it left us feeling overwhelmed with gratitude for not only the @nosimpleroad family - but all of the people who’ve taken us in and showered us with love on this journey. (There’s SO many... mostly from IG. You know who you are, and we love you!!)
If you’re a music fan, or a podcast fan, or even just a fan of cool, genuine people - you need to check out and subscribe to the @nosimpleroad podcast. They’ve interviewed tons of interesting people in the extended grateful dead family and are just getting started! Soon, you can even listen to @tremington187 and I talk about the long strange trip that resulted in our decision to hit the road! 💙⚡️💀❤️
Why You Should Take People Out To Coffee --4 Tips On How To Find a Mentor

What was the best Investment you made under 100$ this year?
For me it was taking people out to coffee.
After failing spectacularly for years I thought it was time to move the needle of my life in all areas that have been frustrating me.
And what better way to do it than to approach people awkwardly out of the blue who are kicking ass in life and plainly ask them how they do things and how they got there.
This year I met with CEO’s, entrepreneurs, professors, professional painters, digital nomads, athletes, best selling authors, and world-class psychologists. And all to often it started with me asking people out to coffee.
My life’s mission right now is to dissect and investigate the routines, habits, and characteristics of successful and happy people in order to model my own behavior after them.
In my pursuit of decoding successful people, one thing popped up very frequently in my interviews. People who are kicking ass often seem to have had a mentor....
Ever been disappointed by a place you had high expectations for? I had read that this library was Harry Potter-esque so we popped in to check it out. Nope. This was pretty much it, a few small levels attached by this super cool staircase...not great for strollers lol 😂 Where have you been that didn’t quite live up to your expectations? #momlifebelike
I can do far more than I give myself credit for. I constantly sell myself short and let fear of the unknown, rejection, or embarrassment prevent me from even trying.
Another reason I love this trip for myself so much is that it chisels a big notch out of that fear “I can’t.”
I trust myself to survive, and sometimes thrusting yourself into the unknown is the best way to test yourself and learn to trust yourself again.
Because it will always be ok.
Welcome to Norway 🇳🇴. I got to spend 5 amazing weeks in Norway this summer where I met so many amazing people and did so many amazing things. Lots of highlights to come! #stavanger#workaway#norwaynature#deported
