Life has felt like it’s been moving a mile a minute these past fews weeks 💆🏻♀️ Between preparing for my move, and trying to wrap up current work projects I really haven’t much time to slow down and let it all sink in, so yesterday I decided to slip away to the desert instead of rushing back to Denver to squeeze in a few extra hours of work on a Sunday.
A short jaunt around these sandstone monoliths was exactly what I needed to give my mind the space it needed to process all of the fears that I’ve been having (spoiler: most of them were totally irrational), fully accept that I’m going to be starting a completely new chapter in my life, and sit with how that made me feel.
Transitions are hard, even when they’re positive, and I don’t think that gets acknowledged enough. It’s okay to be stoked & terrified simultaneously. It’s okay to feel sad and mourn the loss of your current life. But remember growth comes on the other side change, so do your best to embrace it!✨🏜
I’ve started to count the progress of my life in the number of dirt roads we go down together, the amount of mud covering my car from your desert paws, the number of fires we warm up next to, the moments we spend at the top of hikes where you sit and look around, seemingly taking in the beauty of this earth we share... and suddenly my life has more meaning than I ever thought possible. I love you little hound. 🦅
Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to support @wildearthslc and @healutah . Most of you know by now, this market was my brainchild brought to life with the help of @natalie_mchale and many of the other artists involved . I love the community we are creating and I can’t wait to see what grows from the seeds we’ve planted.
If you missed me yesterday, I’ll be at a few other markets this holiday season, including @saltandhoneymarket and @alta_community_enrichment holiday market, and I’ve UPDATED THE WEBSTORE. Desert tanks, pullovers, tees, and hoodies are all listed. Thanks for all your support! ❤️
Couple of weeks ago, @awlof saw on the utah lost and found pets Facebook page that someone found a dog out in Utah's west desert but couldn't get the dog to follow them out since they were on motorcycles and it was almost dark. She contacted the guy who gave us a dropped pin to where he last saw him. We loaded up the #canam and headed out to look for him. Well, she found him about a mile away from the dropped pin, scared, thirsty, hungry and cold. We brought him home and had him reunited with his family the next day. Love it when a plan works out! If it wasn't for @awlof , this dog would have probably died out there. #wheelingwithdogs#rescue#utahdesert#westdesert
If you live in or have ever visited the front range of Colorado, you know how rare it is to be on a trail of any kind without seeing another person. The hike to this fat little arch was a memorable one, especially because I didn’t share it with a single passerby. I took a narrow dirt road, to an old looking trailhead sign, to a trail only marked with carins. Only to stumble upon a deep canyon and a couple jack rabbits.
"Within easy reach of the highest concentration of National Parks in the United States including 5 national parks and numerous national monuments, the surrounding striking desert landscape offers a host of outdoor activities..."⠀

“Don’t worry,” he adds, “it’ll all still be here next spring.” Yes, I agree, that’s a good thought and it better be so. The desert will still be here in the spring. And then comes another thought. When I return will it be the same? Will I be the same? Will anything ever be quite the same again? If I return.
Social media acts as a little window into the lives of your friends and strangers alike. As an artist and small business owner it allows me to give little sneak peaks on projects I am working on. With school, planning @wildearthslc, and printing, I’ve decided to put a hold on creating too many more new designs until 2019, that being said I’ll be dropping some shirts from the desert collection this week! Keep an eye out, I think they might go fast. #rambleandroam#desertcollection
