Everyone at some point struggles with some sort of body dysmorphia, I know it beat me up pretty good, and sometimes finds it’s way back into my thick skull. But I am happy with where I am, but still hungry to see progress.
Hopefully you all can find your self pleased enough with yourself, that you can enjoy life and chase goals simultaneously and not put one on the side burner while doing the other.

Squats finally clicked again tonight and I could not have been more fortunate to have it occur during the first week of meet prep. I've been able to put together pieces of advice from @elliottlord from the USPA coaching certification along with the improved bracing and rooting technique that I've been refining with @brandon_senn for the last couple weeks during my off season. Over the last couple weeks, I switched over to flats and had @stephenvdo critically evaluate my bar path and depth. Finally, everything fell into place on squats and I truly haven't been able to say that for months now until tonight. Was able to pull off a fast backloaded 500 single after 3 sets of 5.

Finally got to use the monolift today and let me say that it’s sick. Didn’t go too crazy, just 4 sets of 365. I also decided to make @stanislausstrength my home gym for my main lifts. I’m really excited to see how much this place can help improve my overall strength. They have more than enough equipment to help build your strength and lifts as well as unique equipment that you may have seen before. Had to go find this one from when I first saw @sarah.lewis_ post it. It's in response to people who immediately judge me when they hear I don't lift in the usapl. I'm sorry dude, I chose the federation I lift in because it allows me to reach for goals by pushing myself as much as possible while having a blast at the same time. I'm not saying you can't have fun in the usapl; I respect the hell out of usapl lifters just as much as I respect the hell out of lifters in other feds. On another note, even if you decide to take "special" supplementation you still have to put in the work to be more than mediocre.
I just wanna tell the world how freakin proud I am of this lil nugget. You battled through so much through this prep and handled meet day like a freakin champ. Thank you for trusting me and for inspiring me to continuously find ways for the both of us to become better athletes. Throwback to my greatest fail of all time. This was a weight I was pushing every Saturday and for some reason I couldn’t do it on the stage. Had I landed this I would’ve broke the drug tested world record. I’m glade it turned out the way it did. If I would of claimed a world record title that day I think it might of satisfied the hunger. My entire life I have been ruthlessly self conscious about my stomach, and it is IMPERATIVE to break free of that mindset. So I challenged myself, and wore a mid rise thong bikini to the beach. Serving enough 🎂 &🍗 to feed a family of 🖐 plus seconds 💁♀️
So everyone always asks me what it’s like to train @thestronghouse here’s a perfect example. The plan for @bruce_randall was openers only and get qualified for Drug tested worlds. After his opening deadlift he comes up to me and says “what do I need to pull to motivate @mikelonglimbs “. Got wtf I came for and that’s 1st place!!! 82.5kg/181lbs weight class ain’t no joke. These dudes hands down are the hardest of all to go up against cuz these guys be 5’5” lifting mini vans. 353 bench, 496 squat and 562 deadlift for a total of 1,411lbs sealed the W and qualified me to compete at nationals!!
