There will always be disappointment if you're only interested in getting a pat on the back for doing what is right.
For doing what is required of you because you signed up on the dotted line, then you gloat about the medals, ribbons, and pieces of paper you received from the government for doing your job.
You claim you're humble, and you need no validation, yet you scream for it everytime you show your "price paid." How many of our Nations UNSUNG HEROS don't speak a word about the awards, and ribbons they have, because they're humble, and they don't mean shit? Yet keep helping their fellow brothers, and sisters daily without judgement?
My grandfather, and step dad was "those people. No one knew until they passed away. Why? Because no purple heart, and bronze star was going to change who they were as a person.
I have made it a point to be like them. I will forever help those who need, even if it means I give my last dollar, knowing damn well I need it. However knowing that someone else needs that dollar. I will go without, before someone else does.
You have to have the heart to give more than you have. ~DocN
