Another good session on the path to getting my squat back. Was definitely nervous going to a box this low since I haven’t squatted to depth (or close) in a while, but looking back at the footage made me pleased. Continuing with the plan and will increase the weight & ROM over time!

I worked a 12 hour shift today. When these squats were posted, I was just starting my bench warmups. That’s how much I’m willing to commit. I know you guys understand this passion. I can’t fully express in words how thankful I am for the guidance of @austin_barbellmedicine during this prep. He knows how to make the appropriate adjustments for my situation. My schedule is not athlete friendly whatsoever, but there are some things I’ve been learning about myself from this process. Finally, squats are beginning to make some sense again. 🙏🏽

Today was an awesome session. Putting two plates on my back for the first time in months was nerve-wracking at first, but so accomplishing after. On bench, to rep over 225 is something that I’ve been chasing for a while, and basic LP has been huge and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Although the back injury (x2) has put a hinderance on my lower body strength, I’ve had the same mindset and approach to training no matter what the game plan is & it’s showing in my progress. Training is fun when things are going well lol!

Top set at 145, for 4 reps.
This here be the 4th.  In truth, a tad high.  Picked up a little niggle in the low back right before unracking the bar.  Still, the reps moved reasonably fast. Without the back issue, I think depth is no problem 😌

Another solid training session today. Probably near the top end of LP for 5s on bench, but 225 for that amount of volume is a PR (I think). Back continues to feel solid on squats. Slowly getting over the mental hurdle and it feels good to be approaching 2 plates and almost parallel depth!

My rhomboid and SI joint are not happy with me...not at all😠
But, as pain is all in your mind, we pulled anyway.
Top set at 190kg, got 3 of 4 reps.  Couldn't get a deep breath and bracing was agony. I'm OK with today. If I can do this nicked up, I'm good for lots more 💪 
Was able to do the back off work at 170kg and the block pulls at 190kg.
Tomorrow we visit @matt.veronica for a tune up.

Bumped the back off sets to 82.5kg, 4 sets of 5 reps, got those.
Bumped the wide grip work to 75kg, 3 sets of 8
Last set, reps 6-7...8 😁 It looks better than it felt.
Thanks to @rikiellanap and @schultz.83kg.ipf.overlord for the spots today.
We're still on track for a 100kg competition bench. I'm confident about that, today not withstanding.

Really happy with everything tonight. No pain on squats (and the bench I squatted to was a little bit lower or at least felt a touch lower) and bench felt great. Switched to my flats and my whole setup feels that much better. Continuing to build back up in all 3 lifts and excited for what’s to come when I’m fully healthy again.
