That's not my shadow, that's my darkness.
I have already got a photo of this, but this is from a different perspective 📸
This post is about powders. My skin is combo (it was very oily when I was younger) and I have been using face powder since I was 16. However, it's not easy to find a good powder, and I have had few hits and many misses.
For years I used the Lancome Color Ideal powders (at least 5, maybe more, and I still have one left). But then they were discontinued, and I went in search for a replacement. This photo shows three failed attempts at finding a good powder:
- Lancome Teint Idole 01 - it cakes on my skin and looks horrible
- Chanel Mat Lumiere Luminous Matte Powder N 50 - it cakes horribly on my skin and looks very very bad
- Urban Decay De-Slick powder - it shows a white cast on my skin and isn't even mattifying. No idea why people like this
I have tried hard to make these powders work: I have used a dry sponge, a wet sponge, and a brush, I have tried different primers, moisturizers, and no primers at all, but all to no avail. So in the end, I decided to declutter them and gave all three away to a new home where they will bring more joy to the owner. And I feel so much lighter after this declutter! I was tired to trying different tricks to make them look good, and failing. Now I will go on to use those powders in my stash that I love. Hurrah!
