Father - Bring me a fruit of the banyan tree.
Son - Here it is father.
Father - Break it.
Son - It is broken, Sir.
Father - What do you see in it?
Son - Very small seeds, Sir.
Father - Break one of them, my son.
Son - It is broken, Sire.
Father - What do you see in it?
Son - Nothing at all, Sir.
Then his father spoke to him: "My son, from the very essence in the seed which you cannot see comes in truth this vast banyan tree.
"Believe me, my son, an invisible and subtle essence is the Spirit of the whole universe. That is reality. That is Atman. THOU ART THAT.” -
It is neither real (Because it has no power or independent existence separate from Brahman), nor unreal (because it is apparently perceived and experienced in this world through its expressions of avarana [veiling, non-apprehension] and viksepa [agitation, misapprehension].
Miami 2012... I remember it all. I remember the chaos, destruction, sorrow, force, power, excitement, and the wordless. The #somethinelse ... My feet never hit ground, they couldn’t. They were in constant need... “Wait for us. Can we stop?” “No.” *Conversation between legs and me* I couldn’t stop. I didn’t want to... I still don’t.
I wonder where I would be, if I listened to “you” calling me crazy. I did for some years. Not anymore tho, people wanna understand and if they can’t, they’ll box ya in by diagnosing. Or maybe no one really wants to understand. *Understanding is knowing I will never understand* #upanishads * Maybe man makes man crazy and madness just may be some kind of #consciousawakening •
Have you ever seen someone’s face change right in front of you? I have... Many.
I came to my senses by way of insanity.
I don’t regret. Anything.

Day #18 of 300 hour yoga teacher training in Ubud, Bali. I glanced up from my restorative posture toward the end of my sequence this morning, grateful for this view. The same space we’ve spent every morning chanting mantras, pranayama, meditation, our asana flows, hours of lectures -teaching and learning, and today, my first earthquake!! Every moment of this trip has been memorable, meaningful, and so perfectly beautiful! “You are what your deepest desire is. As is your desire, so is your intention. As is your intention, so is your will. As is your will, so is your deed. As is your deed, so is your destiny” (#upanishads )! #presence#akagrata#sukha#prajnaparadha#ataraxia#robusttranquility#ubudbali#dailypractice#swadhyaya
Watch your thoughts, for they become your words.
Watch your words, for they become your actions.
Watch your actions, for they become your habits.
Watch your habits, for they become your character.
Watch your character, for they become your destiny.
We always have mantras going on in our heads. It's whatever thoughts are circling around in there.
When we learn to watch this thought patterning, we realize we have a choice in which thoughts we wanna nurture.
Be picky about what you allow to stick around. Choose to nurture thoughts that support the life you want by focusing on them and speaking them. Do it over and over again until that pattern becomes your habit and your attitude. Then watch what happens in your life 😉
✨O indiano B.K.S.

Beyond the mind yet within the mind – is this a riddle?! It's not. But the Divine cannot be understood by the mind's reason, since it transcends the mind. The Divine exists within everything, yet everything exists within it. It pervades and sustains the entire universe. It is within you and without. To realise this – beyond your thinking mind – meditate. Sit in quiet contemplation of its subtle presence. When thoughts arise, that is the mind. Move your awareness to the space beyond the thoughts. To the vast expanse of pure Awareness. Pure Consciousness. .
Of the multitude of meditation techniques, it's an advanced one. Meditation on a focal point, e.g with a mantra, can come more easily to mot people. But I'm giving you options here, people! You don't know until you try... .

I have learned many lessons these past two months. One lesson is that a deep rooted belief of mine, being truly vulnerable is disempowering, is completely misguided. I have witnessed strong, beautiful people share the rawest forms of themselves. I have been inspired. I am challenging myself to become more comfortable with vulnerability. Sharing the peices of myself I have, in the past, preferred to keep quiet. I often use prose to process and seek out a deeper understanding of my internal world. I am going to try to incorporate some of my writing, old and new, into this platform. I hope that this will create more authentic connection in my life. I have realized the compartmentalization I've thought of as a super power has kept me from embodying my duality. Each peice is part of the whole. This is That, That is This. I am, You are, We all are, This. ⚫
¡Feliz tarde! ❤
Everything is pervaded by the rich Presence of the All-Embracing One. What beauty we are privileged to see! What riches we are given to enjoy! I would be immensely ungrateful to wish for any life but the one I have. For the world I inhabit in this moment is full of the One who is everything I truly long for.
Ghandi's translation of the first verse of the Isa Upanishad is not the most scholarly (cf. Olivelle). Nor does it reflect the most philosophical of interpretations (e.g., Shankara). But for me, it conveys the meaning of the verse in a down-to-earth and elegant way.
Quote from Harijan 4.51 (January 30, 1937), 405.

Mala Mondays, 108 verses from the Upanishads.
One a week every Monday to meditate on for the week.
Think of it as creating your own ᴡɪsᴅᴏᴍ mala and each verse is a bead. If we all are taking just a few minutes every day to contemplate the wisdom from the Upanishads of the week we can raise the ᴠɪʙʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ inside and outside of us. 🔮

Tradition considers 108 Upanishads as important and authoritative. Of these ten are considered as the major Upanishads:
Whatever you think constantly, you will become that
"Whatever you think constantly, you will become that. Please understand, whatever you think constantly, you will become that. So, Upanishads are setting the context – what you are expected to think, the direction in which your mind needs to move. Please understand, mind, by its very nature, goes through the senses, means, to the outer perception, because, that is the least resistant path. Cognizing the external information is easy for the mind. So, naturally, it moves in that direction. If mind is forcibly turned towards the Source by the Hard Power... means by the rules, regulations... But if the mind can be made to understand with the right context to turn towards the Source, that is what I call Soft Power; setting the right context and turning the mind towards the Source through Soft Power."

Everything we consume has not only nutritional qualities but also a subtle vibration so it is of great importance for both our physical and mental health that we consume healthy, energy giving food that contains a pure, positive vibration.
Your diet has a tremendous impact on the way you think, feel, and operate. Inflammatory diet patterns that are high in sugar, refined carbs, unhealthy fats and processed foods can contribute to impaired memory and learning, as well as increase your risk of diseases such as Alzheimer's and dementia.
Food is information... There are millions of molecules of information in every bite of food that get translated by our genes into cellular instructions. These instructions are what control our health and disease patterns. In other words, what we eat programs our bodies with messages of health or messages of disease. .

Swami Vivekananda was an Indian religious teacher who trained under the Indian mystic #Ramakrishna . Vivekananda was invited to the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893, where he gave a speech about Hinduism to the World’s Parliament of Religions. Vivekananda’s speech generated interest in Hinduism in the United States. In fact, it was the first time that many Americans had even heard of Hinduism.Vivekananda’s speech promoted Vedanta, a Hindu school of philosophy based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, and their affirmation of the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of all religions. Vivekananda reminded his audience that all religions “have a place in the Hindu’s religion.” The Hindus “received their religion through revelation of the Vedas.” These sacred scriptures are without beginning or end. They contain spiritual law. The discoverers of the laws in the Vedas are called Rishis and many Rishis are women. This reference to women was likely intended to appeal to women in the United States who were fighting for their civil and religious rights, and the right to vote.
Vivekananda said that the soul evolved from matter and comes down to us from past lives. Death is the movement of the soul from one body to another. Hinduism does not call people sinners. Rather, Hindus are “children of immortal bliss.” The Vedas teach a doctrine of love that was taught by #Krishna , God incarnate on earth. The Vedas also teach that the soul is divine. It is only “held under the bondage of matter.” Perfection will be reached when that bond is burst. This freedom is called #Mukto , which is freedom from death and misery. #Hinduism does not have doctrines or dogmas. Hinduism is not about believing, but about being and becoming. When a soul reaches perfection it is no longer an individual, but becomes one with the Brahman. Sciences supports this unity in Hinduism. Vivekananda reminded his audience that Hinduism is not polytheism. There are many ways to get to the one truth. Hinduism does not abhor images and material objects in religion. #Vivekanda#om#upanishads#vedas#vedanta#shiva#vishnu#brahma#sanatandharma#sanatandharmascience#soulfodder
🌟WEEKLY QUOTE 🌟
Whatever you put into your body, it will become one with your SELF. The material parts (macro-, micronutrients), the DNA from these foods become integrated into your material physics, whereas its’ energies will merge with your own vibration and become manifested in your mind; your subtle energy body🙏🏼.
Holistic health experts, scientists as well as people prove by their own experience (I myself included) that there is no doubt about the inseparable body-mind connection🌟. Actually, you could use these 2 words interchangeably. Your body represents the subconscious mind; all the thoughts , belief patterns and convictions which are programmed into your sub-consciousness are physically expressed by your body. Ultimately, we cannot hide our deepest wounds, traumas or the fact that we don’t live in alignment with our core values from anyone else (ourself included) in this world ... Also your own food choices are simply a reflection of your sub-conscious state of vibration. You will only choose foods that match your own level of frequency. You will feed body & mind with more of these energies you‘re aligned with energetically 💫. ~~~
There is no strict diet that fits all. The concept of bio-individuality addresses our unique needs. However, some main facts can’t be denied and need to be pointed out: 🌟 whole foods over processed foods 🌟fresh foods over packaged, cooked and stored foods 🌟organic over conventional 🌟seasonal & local over imported foods
🌟 plant foods over animal products
The most crucial point in finding foods that match your unique needs is the resonance of your vibration. Ask yourself: How does it make me feel during & after eating? Does it support me in becoming my highest Self? Does it serve me as well as the greater good? - Only if you are convinced that it serves you from the inside out, you are making the best food choices for yourself (and the world)🙏🏼.
Enjoy your Sunday! Enjoy your food! Nourish your mind-body system & take care of yourself🌿.
Lots of love, yours Isabel🧘🏼♀️
Bliss is our nature. It is within us when life is going well, and there when life is not going well. The experience of bliss (ananda) is only possible because it's already inside us. It's not dependent on outside factors. It may seem like that - like things or people or objects caused the happiness - but they are merely triggers. And that type of happiness is only a shadow of the infinite bliss within us. .
Sally Kempton says: "The deep joy we call 'the bliss of the Self' bears the same resemblance to our ordinary states of pleasure as a panther does to a kitten. It is the same happiness, true, but infinitely fuller, more powerful and more thrilling. It gives us a sense of fulfillment. Instead of exciting the mind and creating a craving for more, the experience of ananda feels complete."
If it's already in us, yet we are not walking around in a permanent state of bliss, how can we access it?
You can guess what's coming... Yup, get your bum on a cushion and meditate. Meditate with all your attention on the vast, infinite bliss in your heart. When the mind gets caught up in a thought, put it back on the heart. Don't strain to find the feeling of bliss. Let it emerge. It is there.
The more we experience our blissful nature in meditation, the more it arises spontaneously in day-to-day life. Share below if this a meditation you do and if it works for you. Comment if specific meditation instructions would be helpful.
Enjoy! Om shanti!
