Ignore my room cause I’m moving out in like 4 days... but I just did this comparison out of curiosity. I genuinely didn’t realise just how much my body shape has changed. I genuinely have a waist now. The first photo was taken maybe October time. So I would’ve been about a size 16-18. I’m not a size 12-14. I may have lost more than just the fat around my waist (I’ve lost my boobs too) but I really don’t mind. These last few weeks I’ve been feeling really 💩 about myself. Majorly. And I’m trying to love myself again. I’m making myself go to the gym even when I just want to stay in bed. One big pressure for me is that all my relationships have broken down and it’s been their choice, not mine. Because of that I’ve always thought it was me, that there was something wrong with me and that I’m not good enough. It’s strange but these last few months, I’ve really started to think differently and it’s like a whole different 🌎 to me. One major influence has been the kind words my father has said to me every time he’s seen me and it’s something that has stuck in my brain throughout this. His opinion means more than any opinion any man I’ve dated has had about me and I need to realise that my dad is the one that I need to listen to and believe. Be happy. Be you. After having conversations about Instagram this weekend, I felt like it was important to share this. 
On the left is how I look when I’m relaxed (slightly over accentuated but you get the point.)The right is how I would pose to make my body look better so that I maximise muscle volume. 
On the left, the blinds are closed and I’m shadowed by my own body. On the right, the blinds are open and natural sunlight helps to make your body look more defined. 
I also rolled up my shorts in the right hand picture which means my legs are out and my waist looks smaller.
I also took the left picture in one take where as I took 5 for the right hand picture to get my posing exactly how I wanted it. 
There are loads of little tricks that lots of people use to maximise their positive attributes. 
There is nothing wrong with it in the slightest. We all want to make ourselves look the best that we can. It’s just better for it to be in the open so that nobody ever makes the mistake as to thinking that that’s how people look on a normal basis.
Anyone who flexes 24/7 has issues (and bloody good stamina 😂) I would have put a filter on this to really prove the point, but even for the sake of this photo I couldn’t bring myself to use one! 
Ladies, there are also apps that allow you to edit your photos to bring your waist in, add colour to your cheeks and make other body parts bigger. Be mindful of that when looking at other women’s photos. 
We are all normal human beings at the end of the day, so try not to compare yourself to people on social media. 
Be true to yourself as well. There is no point editing your photos to massive extents as that isn’t you. Be yourself and be happy in the skin that you are in. 
Anyone can show you the perfect parts of their life. Anyone who doesn’t show you the bad times is hiding behind social media instead. No one has a perfect life.

Words have power. .
We spend so much time with our loved ones that sometimes it is easy to overlook when they are feeling shitty or reflect it back to ourselves. I think it is especially easy to forget that our kids have bad days sometimes too ... just like we do.
.
We can’t always take the pain away, but we can go above and beyond to make them feel special, loved and worthy and remind them over and over again that they are capable of being whoever they want to be.
.
I have learnt it is so important to try and see the best in people, even on their bad days.
.
1. Pay attention when they are talking - look into their eyes.
.
2. Praise them, you can never give someone enough genuine praise.
.
3. Take an interest in their hobbies - even if it’s something like RoadBlox that you don’t understand anything about.
.
4. Be vulnerable, let them know that they make a difference in your life.
.
5. See their potential. Tell them you believe in their vision.
.
6. Speak to them about their strengths, try and uncover a dream they may not yet have recognised.
.
7. Encourage them to do something that they haven’t done yet because of fear.
.
8. Give your time generously - listen, talk and support them.
.
9. Give them approval.
.
10. Give then space to acknowledge their feelings and things they are grateful for.
.
11. Give compassion when you are tempted to judge.
.
12. Be affectionate - give them a hug even if you don’t feel like it.
.
13. Share yourself with them - your fears and joys. Let them know you can be vulnerable with them.
.

Ultimately we can’t make others happy, but we can do our very best to support their happiness.

We live in a selfish world and get often get caught up in ourselves and forget the words we use have the most incredible power.

We must use them wisely to uplift and empower those around us, to make them feel loved and worthy.

Our words and our belief in others have the power to free them to step forwards into growth ... or step back into safety.

I previously suffered from insomnia, anxiety and low self-esteem. Getting involved in fitness and physical activity really changed my life and the way I feel about my body. Right now I feel much more confident about myself. A good self-esteem is important for everyone because it helps you keep a positive outlook on life and makes you feel proud of the person you are, both inside and out.
