After a fun filled weekend, a shit load of laughs, and a flight change (😂 changed from Sunday morning to a Sunday evening flight) it was time for Elle to go back to Adelaide. 🙁😢
We agreed we were cool doing the long distance thing til the end of the year (it was May) and we would work out what next then.
Ba ha! End of the year 😂🙌🏼
Turkeys are back! Momma turkey and her babies. First time they were at the very back of the house were the patio is. Darn they found the tomato plant. I had moved all my plants including the veggies from the front part of the house (which is part of the backyard) to the back patio because they were painting the house. I don’t know if they were around the water fountain. #turkeys#wildturkeys#turkeyscanfly#livermore
Sooooo ... we weren’t cool with being separated for long again and our three weeks ended up being 5 days. Elle jumped on a plane the following weekend to go hang out with Luke in Melbourne. Plenty of time to catch up on the 5 days in the 1 and half hour commute home from the airport.
We spent the weekend with a little training @anytimefitnessburwoodvic
Shopping, spending time with family, a ‘quiet’ night out and some Netflix.
Got to visit my 93 year old Grandpa today. He has Alzheimer’s and has had a rough go recently but he was doing very well today. He recognized me and even called me a rascal after I took these photos. He’s a tough old bird whom I love dearly. #papa#alzheimers#grandpa#rascal#turkeys#93yearsyoung
Today we visited the farm critter haven* and had the pleasure of meeting a bunch of super sweet animals. Here is Becky and Pecky, brother and sister turkeys. Pecky is super protective of Becky but both really friendly. Did you know turkeys purr when you pet them? Or the the males face and neck change colors depending on his mood? While we were there he was changing to White which was really cool to see. He is also practically sitting on Becky at one point because he wanted all the attention 🤣. Also featured is Shorty the pony, who is a dad to another Pony at the Sanctuary, and Daisy the cow who only wanted to lick the hell out of us 👅 and give us tons of kisses 😘 #farmcritterhaven#animalovers#compassion#animalovers#vegan#turkeys#pony#cow

This is Petunia, born into an industry who sees her as nothing more than a product, a commodity and a piece of property. We don't know her story and why her legs are so badly deformed. She could have been born this way due to congenital birth defects or she could have also sustained injuries as a result of being crammed into a tiny space, so small she couldn't turn around or even rough handling on the #meat#turkey farm where she spent the first few weeks of her life. Her body will grow rapidly due to genetic engineering that all farmed animals in today's world are subject to and the current state of her legs couldn't support this kind of growth. Most turkeys are slaughtered at around 8 weeks old, when their natural life span is 10+ years. Because of this reason, the Future for Petunia is very uncertain at this point and we're all hoping for the best for this sweet girl. For now, she will only know #love and #compassion , enjoying her days in #peace @sweetbearrescue So much #gratitude to @mcdinan for saving this amazing little soul.
Her life matters. She wants to live and is no less deserving of love than the dogs and cats most of us share our homes with. Please #maketheconnection and for those still consuming #meat#dairy and #eggs think of the #victims and #suffering on the other end of #animalproducts It's not about what you're consuming, but who you're consuming. #alllivesmatter#govegan
Awesome volunteer day with amazing friends at @sweetbearrescue Per usual, the boys-Paul & George (#turkey duo🦃) were very chatty, conversing with everyone, Little Lelani (beautiful rusty colored #chicken 🐓) kept us company all day, Oliver the #pig was up to his usual shenanigans (😂🐷) Gronk the #rooster crowed all day (🐓🤣) and we got to meet Petunia and Sunnie, two precious babies born on a #meat#turkey farm who now struggle to walk due to either injuries or #birthdefects , and will now only know #love living out their days in #peace at #sweetbearrescue This is what a #veganworld looks like. 💖❤️💚🌿🌱🍃✌🏻📷: @karmalizedpix
