While I wait for the the children to get back from Santiago (they will be here on Thursday) and for things in the kitchen, and life in general, to resume their regular pace, it’s all about cooking simple and quick meals. I made traditional Cape Verdean dish of canned chickpeas with canned tuna, boiled potatoes, raw onions, green olives and eggs. This dish can be had hot or made to refrigerate and serve cold, which is how I did it this time. This is what I’ve been eating for the past two days everyone and it is delicious!
Here we have it everyone, the last of the chef Ras files. Pan seared tuna steak with Brussels sprouts and jasmine rice. I hope you guys enjoyed seeing his dishes as much as I have enjoyed sharing them with you. He is an amazingly talented and creative chef, and I can honestly say that most of what I know about cooking I learned from him. Looking forward to sharing more and newer dishes from him with you all very soon. *
