Had loads of fantastic moments in the mountains over the years with these lot! Great to go on adventures and fun activities, but even better to do them with a group of my oldest friends! Activities like #dofe or outdoor residentials are perfect for getting started experiencing different things but also creating lifelong friendships.
A few more from this weekend with @cressi2105 and @bodgerbob 😍 These guys share their lives with two pooches, 3 cats and a common passion for climbing massive mountains around the UK. The first to back each other in everything they do. Love how encouraging they are. PS, this wasn’t an engagement shoot... don’t get any ideas future couples. I was petrified at the top of this mountain 😂 #relationshipgoals#mountainclimbers#tryfan
I’ve had the @alpkit Gravitas Jacket since I was working on the Cuillin back in May. Since then, thanks to this long hot summer, it has spent most of its life clipped to the back of my harness or in the bottom of my sack. And whilst it is fantastically light, my size large weighs 180g including its mesh stuffsack, I’d been reluctant to write anything about it until I’d experienced a proper soaking wearing it.
Last week I had the perfect testing opportunity: Direct Route on the Milestone Buttress followed by Grooved Arête on Tryfan in very wet and exceptionally slippery conditions. Despite these the Gravitas kept me dry enough. Whilst I have other jackets that would have kept my drier in such circumstances, those jackets weigh and cost three times what the Gravitas does. Although it is not designed as a climbing jacket the hood is easily big enough to go over a helmet, and has a wired peak too. Unusually for a lightweight jacket, the Gravitas also has a long cut meaning that it doesn’t pull out every time I reach above my head whilst climbing.
All in all an excellent emergency layer for that unexpected afternoon thunderstorm at a price that doesn’t break that bank.
A selection of photos from our climb up Tryfan on Saturday. Started out beautifully sunny and quite warm then turned cold and wet with very low visibility. Good thing we had decent clothing as it’s easy to get caught out on the mountain. Feeling really proud of myself! ❤️ #tryfan#snowdonia#snowdonianationalpark#mountains#climbing
Brilliant weekend in North Wales with Bryn Williams on mountain leader work shop, fantastic training.
Anyone looking to do any outdoor training Bryn provides great courses and I would highly recommend him. #mountainleader#northwales#tryfan#outdoorlife
Apparently I can’t go anywhere without taking my shirt off 😂 had a great time this weekend climbing #Tryfan mountain in wales. It wasn’t the easiest thing considering how many calories I’m eating at the moment but I had a little extra to play with to get me up and down the mountain. Thanks to @bodgerbob for the photo and for @cressi2105 and @amyrosedeffley for sharing in such a wonderful day. #ukdfba#bodybuilding#gymmotivation#gymspiration#gym#fitfam#back#climbing
